DS 7 (2023) Ready to Rival German Luxury SUV??

Hello, I'm Frédéric Soubirous, I'm in charge of the exterior design of DS Automobiles. Today I'm delighted to welcome you to this workshop where I will introduce you to the new DS 7. What made the DS 7 so successful was its silhouette, its charisma, its muscular side, which made it stand out. Its very structured side, its character lines, which underline the wheel arches and the muscular wheel arches. But also, this is a little more than this car, it's its elegance. And this elegance was its design, which we know very well, its clear glass design, which brings fluidity to the car. And this design, which comes to the end, which underlines this car that starts and continues to define the car, which continues to stretch it, which continues to bring it to the back, practically to the center of the back. Today I present to you, let's say, the novelties of the car. In what we have over-emphasized, so that its character is even more charming, we have refined the proportions of the headlights to give it even more perceived width. We have structured the trunk even wider, and this means that when you see the car in the back, the car has even more presence, even more stature. It always has this side when you turn, this front-rear side, this line that underlines in the three quarters the well-sitted side of the car. And we notice, when you turn a little more from the side, that we have given even more importance to the trunk. Let's move on to the front. Here, the same, the charisma of the car, we wanted to accentuate the original character of the car and enlarge this grille. So the grille is brought up to the line, which is much more structured. The wings are simplified, which are just in two parts. And this grille, which now brings these Paris nails, these lozenges in the shape of Paris nails, are degraded, so they are bigger on the outside and decrease on the inside. And then, of course, when you see a DS7 Crossback today, when you see it coming from afar, its light signature, we recognize it from far away. And so we kept it, we kept this light signature, we kept this derailleur that really sits the car on the road. And we brought it these additional four lines from the ASL concept car, which we presented a little earlier. Here, I will now pass the relay to Nicolas Deluy, who will focus on the lighting, a little more precisely. Hello, I am Nicolas Deluy, lighting manager at DS Automobiles. I will now present to you the new DS light signature. We start with the innovation that we called LightVeil, which is inspired by ASL, the Aerosport Lounge, our concept car. It consists of four lines for the LightVeil and an external line for the DRL. We have 33 LEDs on each side. The innovation on this element is to have a polycarbonate plate with the paint applied on the B-phase. Then we laserize to make the four lines appear. And so we work on the homogeneity of the whole. On the projectors, you have three modules, with the pixel module, which is dedicated to the road function, with a range of up to 380 meters, which increases the driver's vision on the road, and also a cornering function that goes up to 8 degrees to increase the readability on the road. We also have a lens that is reduced, and therefore the set of these four elements, the LightVeil and DRL, plus the projectors, offer the novelty on the front of the DA7. I invite you to go to the back to discover the new AECAI signature, a signature that is deployed under a vortex effect. We have a complexity in the form with a concave element, with the vein that is in shape, which is stretched over the entire width of the vehicle, with 3D automobiles, and we have also reduced the rear lights. The whole is homogeneous, again with a very present red and an unprecedented quality and homogeneity on the car. I suggest you go to the side of the car with a 18-inch to 21-inch rim. On the current vehicle, you have the new 19-inch proposition with a diameter effect that has been worked on. At the level of the design of the rim, you have a diamond effect that goes from thin to wide. We also worked on the aero, with inserts that are offered either in shiny black or in glossy black. And then there is a new 21-inch design that is offered exclusively on the 360 perfo. This gives you a little tour of the whole signature of the new DS7. Thank you for your attention.
