
Black bean soup (with Chinese Yam) for Energy, Anti-Aging & Healthy Hair & Skin
In this video, Shirley (Chinese Medicine practitioner and western medicine pharmacist), will show you how to make a classic and popular Chinese herbal soup - Chinese Yam and Black Soybean Pork Bone Herbal Soup. This traditional recipe is a great way to nourish your Qi (energy), support growth, slow aging, and promote healthier hair, skin and bone.
Shirley explains the functions of each ingredient according to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theories and how they work together to support and enhance one another. The three main ingredients of the soup are Chinese Yam (Shan Yao 山药), black soybeans, and pork bones. All three ingredients support the TCM Kidney, which relates to growth and aging, bones, and hair.
Shirley also provides helpful tips on how to prepare the ingredients, who and which season would be suitable to drink this soup, and how frequent you can drink soup.

RECIPE (2-3 serves)
Pork ribs - one rack
Chinese yam (Shan Yao 山药/淮山), fresh 200-300g ( peeled and diced) OR dried 30g
Black soybeans (黑大豆) - half a cup (about 100g)
Goji berries - 9g
Red dates - 5-6 dates
1 inch of ginger, peeled and sliced
6 cups of water
