Parker Bows - Crossbow Assembly
Hi, I'm Rob Mason with Parker Bows and in this video we're going to review the
assembly instructions for your crossbow. To start, you're going to need a set of
allen wrenches, similar to what I have here, in standard sizes, not metric. In
terms of the crossbow itself, the contents that come in the box are
several items. First is going to be the front end assembly, which is all going to
be assembled with the stirrup mounted. Next, we have the stock assembly, which
includes the trigger, which is already pre-installed, and a scope that's been
mounted and laser boresighted. Next is going to be the quiver assembly, which
includes a quiver bracket for attaching the quiver on to the crossbow, as well as
the arrows with field points. Next, there are two hardware packs, one for
assembling the riser onto the stock and the next hardware pack to assemble the
quiver onto the crossbow. Also included with your crossbow is a set of assembly
instructions that walk through the various steps that we're reviewing in
this video today, and so you can use this as a reference as you're going through
the process of assembling your crossbow. Last is going to be the owner's manual
pack. The owner's manual pack is very important and I encourage you to take
some time to review the materials included in the package, as well as the
owner's manual itself. It's very important to review the owner's manual
before operating the crossbow. What's also included in the owner's manual is a
warranty registration card. It's stitched right into the owner's manual and I
would encourage you to complete this card and you can mail this in to us to
register your lifetime warranty, which is available to the original owner. You can
also go to our website and register your warranty online. Now that we've
reviewed the contents, let's get down to assembling your crossbow. The first step
in the process of assembling your crossbow is going to involve the front
end assembly. You're going to need to position the cable slide onto the cables
so that the cables cross on the left from the shooter's perspective. The cable
slide is going to have a marker on it that will indicate which end goes to the
front of the crossbow and the front is going to be from the perspective of
the shooter. I'm going to pinch the cables just ever so slightly on the left
side here to separate them and I'm going to position the cable slide onto the
cables, making sure that the narrow side of the grooves is pointing to the left
and the wider side of the grooves is pointing to the right. I'm going to
position that cable slide in line with the slot that's going to receive the
stock. I'm going to pinch the cable slide just slightly, making sure that it stays
onto the cables and I'm going to take the stock assembly and I'm going to
slide the stock assembly up onto the cable slide. My goal here is just to get
the cable slide started in the slot and to make sure that the string is
positioned on top of the barrel. Once I get it started, then I'm going to
reposition the stock so that it will slide forward into the slot in the riser
and so the insert will slide up into that slot into the riser. I'm going to
angle the front end just ever so slightly so that it slips down in place.
Now, I'm going to take the main riser bolt and you'll notice that all the
fasteners in the package include this yellow strip. It's a Loctite material
that keeps the fasteners from backing out. I'm going to get this one started
and I'm going to go ahead and I'm not going to tighten it all the way. I want
to make sure that I'm able to get my two top screws started before I snug
that one down. Now, the two top screws again have the nylock patch on them. I'm
going to slide those in and I'm going to get the one on the left started. They
should go right in. I'm going to get the one on the right started. It's threading
down. Now, you want to be careful that these don't cross thread. You're also
going to want to take care to not over tighten these. You don't want to strip
the top of the screw out. Now that those are tight, I'm going to tighten down the
main riser bolt. You're going to want to make sure that this one is good and
tight. You really cannot over tighten this main riser bolt. Now, the front end
assembly is mounted to the stock assembly and what we have left to do is
to mount the quiver onto the riser. We need to separate the bracket from the
quiver and the quiver can be mounted one of two ways. One for a right-handed
shooter, one for a left-handed shooter. In order to mount it for a right-handed
shooter, you want this lever towards the front of the crossbow. For a left-handed
shooter, you'd want it towards the back of the crossbow. I'm a right-handed
shooter. I'm going to mount that right there. I'm going to use the two fasteners
that came in the hardware pack. I'm going to get the one started. I'm going to get the second
started. And again, I'm going to want to take care to not over tighten these
fasteners. They just need to be good and snug. Now, the quiver comes with three
different mounting positions. It's really up to your personal preference where
you'd like to mount it. I'm going to go ahead and mount this one right in the
center and I'm going to close the lever. And now my crossbow is assembled and
ready to take to the field.
