The dreaded ear mite.
Nobody really wants to have a mite living in their ear,
especially your dog or cat.
Ear mites typically occur in cats.
Typically we're seeing this big,
large amount of black debris,
but we also see it in our dogs
and similarly, if your dog has ear mites,
they're gonna have black debris in their ears.
They're gonna be scratching.
The average ear mite life cycle is about 21 days.
So we're looking at treatment
and we need to treat over a 21 day period
so we kill all of those mites.
Our new remedy today, it consists of two ingredients.
Number one, this is neem oil.
Neem has been used for thousands of years.
It's native to Asia,
but it has two ingredients in particular
that are important for us.
One is called azadirachtin.
It's a specific documented insecticidal ingredient.
Secondarily, it's got a product called nimbin,
which is a wonderful anti-inflammatory.
Those two combined make it like the ideal ear mite solution.
The other really interesting thing about neem oil
is it's been studied for its use in ear mites,
proven to be very effective,
almost as effective as ivermectin.
Like, hmm, why I've never heard of it,
it took me so long even to read about it, I don't know.
But there it is once again, holistic option,
potentially even better,
less side effects than a conventional one.
Number two, we've used it in many videos, castor oil.
It's very thick and viscous,
so it can actually suffocate the ear mites.
Secondarily, it's a great anti-inflammatory itself.
So we've got two really great key ingredients,
documented to be beneficial for our animals,
safe, effective.
We're starting with one dropper full,
which is one cc or one mil of the neem oil.
Then we're gonna be using two teaspoons.
Each teaspoon is five mils,
so that's gonna give us 10 mils of castor oil.
There we have our 10 to one dilution.
As far as treating your dog or your cat,
first you can just mix up the castor oil and the neem oil.
It's fine to leave it at room temperature.
If it's a bit cool, you need to warm it up.
Then I'm using a small one cc syringe as a dropper,
which I find is easiest.
You can just pick this up at any pharmacy.
How to treat your dog or cat.
So I want you to have your dog sitting
comfortably like this,
flip up his ear, his ear flap.
You've got his exposed ear canal here,
where the ear mites are just crawling inside his ear.
You're gonna use your handy dandy one cc syringe.
And we're gonna be putting somewhere
between three to five drops,
just seeding it in the base of the ear here,
dropping them into the ear.
So three to five of these drops in.
Then we're gonna rub the base of the ear really well.
Work to have those drops,
the neem and the castor oil work its way down,
right level with the eardrum,
deep into the ear canal
where all those ear mites are residing.
And you're gonna be doing that twice a day for seven days,
stop for seven days, then repeat.
You can use a cotton ball, a swab,
after you've put the drops in,
just to wipe out some of that excess debris,
especially the stuff right here
in the outside part of the ear canal,
getting some of that mite debris out.
Let me know how that works.
I'd love to hear your feedback.
I think it's a great option
if we're trying to treat a cat, a dog with ear mites.
