This is NOT the Bohol We Remember! Reacting to Alona Beach 2023

obviously very very difficult kind of bit of sweet yeah and kind of overwhelming shoving things in your face I'm like ah it's like a side relief open the door to the van and there were people at the door it's kind of a reminder that that does [Music] exist good morning guys good morning welcome to another daily juice welcome to the Vlog welcome to a new video on the channel however you want to intro this video welcome hope you are all doing well this morning we're in very good mood because we're heading to one of our favorite beaches I think it is one of our favorite beaches in the Philippines potentially Alona Beach Alona Beach pangl Island beh Philippines this is where we've been for the past few days but we haven't yet got back to Alona Beach very excited for this because two reasons one I loved Alona Beach when we first visited it was like a good atmosphere good vibe like a kind of tourist area like a hot spot with they've got one of our favorite smoothie Bowl places there shakka that whole strip along Alona Beach is really really cool but then we've got some different memories from the area because we came just after or in between lockdowns and it was absolutely deserted so we're here we're back 2023 we're going to see what it's like now kind of post pandemic I mean behle in general we have noticed that tourism seems to be back booming so if that's anything to go by Alona Beach should be back to its full potential hopefully it's really really nice Beach white sand beautiful clear water so very very excited to go very excited to take Koda there for the first time we've just had breakfast here at our hotel we're staying at Sala oh the van's ready Lucy's calling me over we're staying at CA on Pang Island spent most of the afternoon in this pool yesterday which goes right onto the beach if you haven't seen the previous Vlogs go check them out but right now our ride is here it's about 20 minute drive roughly from the hotel to Alona Beach so let's go thank you thank you let's go okay can safely say tourism is back because all the sellers and the vendors and the tour operators and people selling shells jewelry watches all sorts of things are back in full swing we literally open the door to the van and there were people at the door wanting to uh see if we wanted to buy anything so we are now walking along basically just down to the beach this is crazy this is really changed oh yeah it's not particularly buggy friendly um however we've been in worse we man so walking up from the McDonald's and jollybee kind of area obviously this is quite a builtup tourist location so you do have like commercialized commerci commercialization commercialization is that the word h good morning thank you so we got yeah people it's kind of like barai look Lucy's uh some trying to talk to Lucy now oh that's very nice thank you thank you so much not right now but we're okay thank you though thank you so we're just going to walk down to the beach and yeah beautiful day blue sky here weather check and already I'm like ah it's like a s of relief almost that things are getting back to normal here if not if not even better some some people were telling me that some places have got even better than um pre-co times especially when we're in subbu and this area as well a lot of tourists from Korea South Korea have been coming back over um and that apparently completely stopped someone was telling me the other day but now that flight's kind of running and a lot of Korean tourists are coming back over which is really cool yeah good to be back here I remember this so so well but honestly the last time maybe some of you saw the Vlog the last time we were here it was just Lucy night like there was no one here it was totally deserted like shutters on every shot it was really really weird to see this is not buggy friendly we should not have bought the buggy if you've got a baby carrier take that instead of a buggy if you have kids it's not good good idea um yeah and kind of overwhelming with people like shoving things in your face to sell them I feels like it feels a little bit more pushy than last time I want to say maybe um I don't know we just try and document what's happening uh and we sort of getting followed up the road like with necklaces and eyelid hopping tours and stuff and of course people have got to make their living but I'm just like documenting how it feels different it definitely feels like there's a lot more people selling stuff than last time it feels more like Bari actually doesn't it with that yeah because it increased there a lot as well um but it's these people's livelihood so and a lot of tourists of course do want to do the boat hopping tours we just can't today obviously with kod Hello yeah a here we are we're back beautiful not a thing not a thing so some of you may be wondering why we bought the stroller in the first place the reason is K's going through a little how can we say little phase at the moment where he likes to pretend that he's walking with us and then just run off just like he'll suddenly like choose a direction and go 100 miles an hour and we can't grab when we grab him to bring him back he doesn't want to come back with us he's like coming up for two guys he's doing the 2-year-old thing like has a little scream kicks his legs throws himself back on the floor stuff like that um bless him so yeah the stroller is the easier option A lot of the time she know she knows already like this very cute how old are you how old are you m one one he knows how to answer one wow very handsome very cute what's your name kod k W very cute baby very [Music] cute okay we're going to carry kod onto the beach ready go sure it's not too steep at the no we well no we're good it's like drops off there it's deep but we got some steps here okay come on Koda let's go your first time on Alona Beach wow keep going keep going oh all right we're going into the shade we any sea archs today and I don't remember that last time so I don't know if that's like a time of year thing but I don't remember that being a problem um or maybe we were just lucky and we weren't told and we didn't get stung but no we were just [Music] [Music] like [Music] [Music] yeah [Music] [Music] [Music] how say louder go and the [Music] gole okay guys we are back from Alona Beach uh back in the hotel room that was kind of a bittersweet ending to the day or to the Alona Beach experience overall really cool good to see the tourism back good to see so many tourists enjoying the beach enjoying like the local stuff the coffee shop the local shops and businesses the coffee shop was awesome the coffee was really really good there definitely if you're a coffee person you're visiting panga drop into Glee really really nice the beans are from sagard which is one of Lucy's favorite Mountain places in the Philippines unbelievably stuning up there hope to get back one day but yeah kind of bit of sweet kind of bittersweet ending um because one of the sad things that you see a lot in the Philippines is kind of kids on the street and kids begging for money which is obviously very very difficult um situation for them for um but these girls were came up and they were I don't know six seven something like that and they were like saying hi to Koda and asking cod's name and playing with him and for a second they kind of I don't know you just realize and they were asking kind of for money from Lucy and I and we've been told for many many years don't give these kids money because it kind of just continues the problem um however we did want to do something for them so we ended up going into McDonald's we said like you guys hungry do you want some food and they're like oh yes please so I went into McDonald's ordered some fries and some chicken nuggets and I got them to put it in like a Happy Meal box and I gave it to them they Shar they were the sweetest kids ever they were like sharing they were sharing really nicely and they were so grateful for that and just for that tiny moment that we were there we made their day a little bit better so that's what I mean by bittersweet because it's kind of a reminder that that does exist and it's very very sad but also hopefully we managed to make their day just a tiny bit better but yes we are going to end off here we've just had some lunch at the uh Hotel restaurant staying at CA if you didn't know we're staying at CA pangla and like look at my view quickly so many times in the Philippines we've woken up to just absolute Paradise if you're thinking it's quiet in here where's Lucy and Koda they are currently swimming in the pool I'm going to take the laptop down do some editing do all that stuff that we
