Explore the abandoned Buffalo State Asylum, once one of the most advanced mental hospitals in the U.S.

Built in the 1800s and designed by Henry Hobson Richardson, this massive facility was part of the Kirkbride Plan—an ambitious idea that believed architecture could cure mental illness.

But over time, hope turned to horror. Patients were subjected to isolation, electroshock therapy, and even lobotomies.

In this video, we walk the decaying halls, explore empty treatment rooms, and uncover the dark and disturbing legacy of one of America’s most haunted institutions.
