Which level do you have?
Hello and welcome to a new YouTube video.
My name is Natalia and I am your German teacher.
In this video we will test your German.
We will find out together if your German is already at the B1 level.
You may have already heard it, but my team and I have been working hard for a long time.
And now it's time.
My brand new B1 intensive course is live.
You can sign up for the B1 course with a 20% discount for just one week.
Today is the last day on which a 30% discount is valid.
Starting tomorrow, only a 20% discount and next Sunday the registration for our first live group closes.
Yes, right. The new B1 course even includes live lessons.
Click on the link below this video to see all information about the B1 course.
But what does the B1 level actually mean?
There are certain rules in the European Union.
This is called GER, Common European Reference Framework.
In total, according to GER, there are six language levels.
For all languages, not just for German.
I'll explain everything to you piece by piece.
Before I do that, support me with a thumbs up.
It is very, very important.
Subscribe to my channel.
And of course, write a long comment.
The longer, the better.
The algorithm sees that you are interested and that this video is useful.
So please write a comment.
Let me know what level you have now and what level you want to reach.
So what levels are there?
A1.
At the A1 level you understand simple words and sentences.
You can imagine and answer simple questions.
A2.
Beginner.
You can talk about everyday things, such as shopping and family or work.
B1.
Our current level.
B1.
Middle level.
You can have simple conversations, talk about experiences and say your own opinion.
B2.
Advanced level.
You understand complex texts and can formulate detailed arguments.
C1.
One of the highest levels.
You speak fluently and can understand demanding texts.
And C2.
The highest level.
So it's almost the level of a native speaker.
You understand everything effortlessly, without problems, and can express yourself very clearly and precisely.
As you can see, B1 is the third level of the GRR.
This means that you can communicate well in everyday life, talk about experiences and understand simple arguments.
But is your vocabulary already sufficient?
Do you know enough words?
We'll test that in a moment.
We'll do a test together.
I have prepared 20 words for you on the B1 level.
If you know these words, with the right article, then the probability is very high that you have the B1 level.
If you don't know them yet, be sure to take a look at my new B1 course.
The official course starts on April 7th.
In this course you will learn these and many other new words.
I will show you flashcards from my B1 course.
On the first page you will see a picture and a short explanation.
Or an example sentence.
I will also show you the initial letters of the word.
You have five seconds to think about the answer.
Remember how many words you got right.
I want to know what your answer was at the end of the video.
If the five seconds are too short, then you can pause the video.
And one last important information.
You can also switch on English subtitles.
I have been translating these German subtitles that you see here for a short time.
I also translate into English.
So you can see both languages blended in parallel.
So think about the right article during the test.
This is very important.
I have summarized all the words from this video for you in a PDF file.
The words, the explanation and an exercise.
So you can look at the words again.
And then test your knowledge in an exercise again.
You will also find the solution key in the file.
That means you can check yourself right away.
To download the free PDF file, click on the link below this video.
Enter your name, your email address.
And after a few minutes you will receive the PDF file sent to you by email.
The file is completely free of charge.
You will then end up on my email list.
Twice a week I send you more information on how to learn German.
Tips and tricks on how you can improve your language.
But you can also sign up at any time.
Now it starts.
The first word is a noun and a synonym for company or business.
You now have five seconds for the solution.
Synonym for the company, for a company or a business.
Here is the solution.
Well, did you know it?
And did you know the right article?
You always have to learn it.
Let's move on to the second word.
It's a noun again.
This noun describes a teenager or adult who is completing an internship.
What is the person's name?
The word you are looking for is the intern or the female intern.
Did you get it right?
Make sure to write it down and write your answer to me at the end.
The third word is a verb.
You use it when you want to say that you have finished a task.
The verb is to finish.
Finish.
Did you get it right?
The next word.
Now I have an adjective for you.
It describes a person you can rely on 100%.
The adjective is reliable.
A very important personal strength.
A person is reliable.
Okay.
The word number five.
What do you call it when two people misunderstand something and a problem arises from it?
Well, did you know it?
It's a noun.
How do you describe a situation when two people have misunderstood something?
The noun you are looking for is the misunderstanding.
The misunderstanding.
The word number six.
The word number six is.
It's a noun.
It describes a loud and unpleasant noise that bothers.
A short noun.
The noun is the noise.
The noise.
Did you know the answer?
Don't forget to remember your points.
The noise.
Okay.
Next, I'm looking for an adjective.
It's a synonym for pleasant or cozy.
You have five seconds left for the answer.
What is the word number seven?
The answer is.
Comfortable.
Something is cozy.
Something is comfortable.
For example, a couch can be comfortable.
Let's move on.
How do you call a person you know but don't call a friend?
It's not a friend, but you know this person.
Do you have an idea?
The word number eight is.
Acquaintance.
The or the acquaintance.
Great.
The word number nine.
Now we need an adjective again.
It's the opposite of normal.
And describes, for example, people or things that are very unusual.
So if a person does something completely different or is completely different than you or all other people.
It can also be positive and negative.
The answer is.
Crazy.
Let's move on.
Which verb do I use when I have the same opinion?
It's a separable verb.
The example sentence on the flashcard helps you.
You have five seconds now.
Yes.
The tenth word is.
Agree.
And with that we have half of it behind us.
Well, how many correct answers did you have?
We had ten words.
Did you get all of them right?
It goes on.
The number eleven.
Did you know that in German we have special terms for many words that refer to animals?
The food for animals is such a case.
So we don't say.
I bought the food for my pet.
No, the noun is different.
Do you know the sought-after noun?
The right solution is the food.
It's not food.
It's the food.
Did you know that?
Did you know the right article?
Although we have the ending er here, the right article is that.
The food.
Not the food.
Just like the noun powder.
The noun also has the ending er.
And you might think it's the powder.
But it's the powder.
The food.
The powder.
The next noun is an important prerequisite for a partnership.
It's a synonym for loyalty.
The right noun is loyalty.
Loyalty.
Did you know the solution?
It goes on.
The next word is this time an adjective and the opposite of past.
Do you know it?
The word is a bit difficult.
It's an adjective.
The adjective means future.
Past is something in the past.
Future is something in the future.
Good.
It goes on.
What do you call it when you want to take a break from your everyday life?
What do you say then?
Do you know this noun?
It's also a noun.
You want to take a break from your everyday life.
You need a...
The noun is a break.
You need a break.
It's very important that you take a break every now and then.
That you take a break.
The noun number 15.
You almost made it.
This word is also a noun.
It describes problems and worries that make your life difficult.
What could it be?
It's a very general term.
Do you know it?
The burden.
The article is the.
It's very simple.
Because at the ending of the article is always the.
The burden.
The number 16.
The word number 16.
So the next word is an important verb.
And a synonym for helping.
Yes?
Synonym for helping.
What do you call it when you help older people, new colleagues or overweight friends?
What do you do then?
Yes, you support them.
So the verb is to support.
Our 17th word is also a verb.
It is separable and you use it when someone stops something.
Because it's too difficult.
So, for example, when I stop my training or stop learning German.
I don't do that until the end.
What's it called?
But we don't do that.
We stick to it until the end.
We finally almost made it.
The next word is again a noun.
It's from the fourth lesson of my B1 course.
It's about politics and society.
Do you know who makes decisions in a democracy?
Who makes the decisions?
What's it called?
Right.
From the people.
So the people make the decisions.
The penultimate word is a verb.
We use it when a person has done something wrong and gets a punishment for it.
Do you know which verb I mean?
You have five seconds.
The right verb is to punish.
That's a complicated verb.
Did you know?
Punish.
And we come to the last word, an adjective.
It's a synonym of little and the opposite of much.
What's it called?
Well, the test wasn't that easy.
How many correct answers did you have?
I'm very curious.
Be sure to write me in the comments.
