Parents React to BGC, MANILA! Blown Away on Day 1 (Trying mango, shopping malls & Filipino snacks)

good morning guys and welcome back to a brand new video Welcome to tour George and Lucy tour guide George and Lucy day one our BGC day so we've only got one full day Manilla before we head off to an island tomorrow we'll reveal that very soon but if you follow us on Instagram you already know where it is because we're more ahead on Instagram and we are on these Vlogs so make sure you're giving us a follow if you haven't already but um we've just enjoyed our breakfast and we're going to head out we've got quite a busy day today haven't we we've got a lot to see a lot to do a lot to eat and a lot to drink so I'm very much looking forward to so we're just finishing up our breakfast here at the hotel but there was one thing that we wanted them to try on their first morning and that is the famous Philippines mango look at this the chef just bought over some fresh and they don't have this out of the buffet so this is a little bit of special treatment so big thank you but yeah this is going to be hopefully you're going to love this it's delicious it's sweet it's nothing like mango in the UK eat it with your hands and just like bite into it or if you want to do it more like just SPO it out like that [Music] strong Winer nothing like UK mango soft I don't know it's just um lovely they do vary in sweetness but we had it here 3 days in a row it's been really sweet it's really good it's like velvety yeah even the look of it but it looks like this on the outside and in the UK it's like green and red that's Jack potato jacket potato that tast is nothing like yeah not e UK I know it's so good isn't [Music] it amazing you can go home now that's the best bit of the Philippines it's absolutely un it is it and then you have mango shapes on the island so it's like a shape just of that and it's so refreshing M so cold just the texture mhm it's just smooth I was going to say it's like the pineapple our pineapple is Woody yeah yes as is the mangle this is like how fruit should be topical fruit yeah get Pine uple in the UK you know a core bit in the middle that is Woody that whole thing can be like that and you you cut all the bits off the outside then you got to cut the chunks it's like there's nothing left yeah you've got mango there you can try your mango that's that's Grandpa's mango he gave you some go it's on your fork that is Grandpa's do you want to have some open your mouth good boy show me or not got him no no not I've created a starter [Music] pack walking around with so you like put your hand in have a [Applause] ground game oh boy cornic garlic flavor so is this the Filipino snacks yeah some snacks in here there's a few different things to get started started beat barbecue garlic flavor let's swap I love these are very good they're my favor you going to do another gr shy ja G yeah they are ah so U is a kind of Filipino flavor it's like purple bright purple and it's a very distinct flavor here you'll see a lot of U like purple flavored things what are these they're quite hard cake things I guess like a almost like sausage roll pastry kind of but but they'll be sweet yeah kind of like just okay yeah I love these yeah they're like a oh they got pork scratches taking a small it out think there load in here that is a like hydration drink okay electrolytes good want to drink something called sweat good in the heat that's really good but if we're walking around one day you might want to put that in the fridge and then at the end of the day all like okay like nice Atomic type yeah exactly there's two them in there ding ding nice nice oh oh this is magnet ni good choice so this is nearly 7% it's a really strong beer here very popular at barbecue probably the most famous beer in the Philippines would say Okay red horse so did you get on draft here you have oh San Miguel yeah yeah a lot of things sound out okay so that is that like ler it just says be like ler very strong that good like that dried mangoes wow is known for their best being the best mang or actually garas as well I never know which one's the best so they're quite hard they're Dy out yeah yeah very sweet very sweet but very good very nice I don't know when you when did you do this shopping Burg organic baked corput chips [Music] nice is um the flavor it's like a small line it's the equivalent to line here but it's like the you made you made the drinks for them oh you had camand juice when you came to our flow right still a few more things to go oh okay this is when you get sunburn when it's going to happen be a feet yeah take the heat out very good and there's two more things they one each so they like a little smarty yeah yeah one more turn so you can see where you are and figure out and then there's some on the back that are quite interesting about like how many people live in each region and the geography and stuff white clean excellent thank you very much that's very good wor you your it'll be fine oh it's amazing in you counting for loved loved their reaction to the Philippines mango just then unbelievable and when we stopped recording they started talking about it again really really nice to share that little experience together we have just well I have just gone and got the van from the car park I've pulled up right outside the hotel lobby and oh here they come and they are here right now we're going to go into BGC we're going to get some coffee we're going to show them kind of the High Street area the buildings the skyscrapers because I'm so glad we had time to do this on this trip instead of just heading straight to the beach thank you we've got time to show them BGC the city the city we lived in one of our favorite places in the world [Music] thank you okay so we're now back in the van on our van tour and we are heading towards the grand Hampton's Tower 2 just to show them um where we used to we spent two years of Our Lives living we were in lock down here um so very excited for them to see that we were going to walk it but it's it's getting to that hot part of the day and I think it's as nicer for everyone to stay a bit cooler cuz we're going to do lots of walking later um and then we're going to head to a coffee shop um and then have a little wonderand around after that but first it's the van tour of BGC the Land Tour I should call [Music] it this is our building here where we used to live Grand Hampton's Tower got 7even on the ground Flor oh that's get Magnums yeah toon yeah up there is it going to be oh Luc and George you're back maybe if our guys there regular order so I'm just trying to figure out which ones are so it's this building here there's two towers we're on this one and what floor you on 17 oh my God same as this um I think about 21 actually exactly the same as what we were saying down the yeah you looked that way did you yeah that was our view obviously you can't see it but um famous balcony and there's the tree one of these trees this is where we used to watch like typhoons rolling cuz we've got this amazing view of the um skyline behind one of these trees we just heard snap and it Lally snapped in half during a typhoon and we just saw it happen like literally down below us um and that was the balcony we had bit of fresh air on during lockdown like that was our little area where we could like get a bit of fresh air for the day yeah have a beer on the balcony in the evening or something yeah this is our old area how's the van tour going so far good you you see in the daylight come over the pl step on the white bit [Music] now as basketball courts like on every tiny little island there'll be a basketball court they just it's a very big sport here I like a bit of like big stuff on wall yeah it's cool that they got yeah that's the word I was looking for I think the installation but it's not yeah big big mual yeah good old murial big mu it's huge here is it basketall yeah he was really tall it's too hot for running around hot yeah yeah little [Music] okay what's your name gray Ray we had to bring them here yeah of course this is a really nice coincidence so we spotted gray in the window then we saw Mike's car and this wasn't planned this is nice so these guys can like meet and chat for Jason and CLA to meet some of our friends out here because with our kind of tight schedule that we've got coming up we haven't really been able to plan in that so that it the fact it's happened naturally really really [Music] nice I your just got a cushion for you how's the coffee not hot I just had a mou I thought just SI get gently I just chug it very tasty good nice very good great milk as well for go give up everything that I own yeah I'd give it all up now just to be with you somehow [Music] unex [Music] High mid AUST and I've come out here to say [Music] bounce bounce bounce up high so we need to pull some bricks down right now all a bit warm uh we're going to go and get some ice cream from St Louis or St Louis I never know which way to pronounce it and then oh there's a big hor event going on there's always something going on in BGC I feel like every time you come here you're going to see something different because it's always some sort of pop up having a very nice relaxed day so far and um yeah it's a bit of a walking tour of BGC just trying to show them everything we want them to see and and trying to think of all different ideas and stuff and places to go but I feel like so far we've seen some really cool stuff that's like the coffee shop that we go you so much and it's [Music] very you want Strawberry one strawberry ice cream okay you can have strawberry else one strawberry one vanilla the T was and one of the yam pachio buo vanilla strawberry good memory so we've gone two scoops a sh we've got a pistachio and a Bueno so I'm going to try the pistachio first I'm wondering if it'll be anything like our addiction to the pachio sauce the frozen yogurt p so nice really big bit of which matches J's t-shirt perfectly yeah I'm a big walking U today yeah I'm going in I'm going [Music] in subtle yes very subtle it's quite a different flavor we found when we first tried it nice though it is it's a bit coconut slightly coconuty yeah nice so is it the fruit that makes it purple is it naturally purple yes it's naturally purple yeah yeah great color so we're now walking to SM Ora George and cod are actually back in the room George is doing some editing Cod is having his nap because we're about to move around really quickly through the island we just want to make sure he has some like decent sleep before we head over and we're just going to head to the mall show them around a little bit show them a shopping mall their first experience of a shopping in the Philippines um and I think this is a good one SM aura is a good one to start I'm sure we'll be seeing lots on the trip but um they seem to be having a really nice day so it's just so nice to go around oh is it going down that's so funny they're literally deflating the heart right now so that was the last photo opportunity and CLA just got it but there's all the Chinese New New Year stuff still up here and there's some like display inside still very good did you expect to see M&S here did you expect to see M&S here when I said it yesterday I was joking about it oh no there's M&S here is it really just need a test go extra don't we just on the corner to be fair M&S have got branches everywhere so if you need any things to pop up on then it'll be the same stuff as well yeah than want eat first thank [Music] you oh is it dried stuff yeah [Music] yeah I'm good thank you it's very hot yeah you might have to wait a while before you get a 25 minute clip yeah is there any milk or just it's like milk T ah a fresh milk nice so it won't be completely dark be like H with M I don't like dark oh good you're trying all the things very hot yeah and not very hot we just had ice cream yeah they're like are they in like disc like the circular cubes okay cool put that in here little mango rum lures here there's some really cool like lur and local stuff here as well some like local gin and this I've had this yet in it's like a chocolate lure it's really good oh nice we'll have a little bottle of that nice I was thinking earlier you're going to have every day of your holiday documented it must be really weird you've got like a home video yeah normally it's it's every day in whatever we're eating yes pH grass of food perfect oh yeah that's as well like the again see everywhere so we've come into the SM store now um and they were just saying how amazing it is how many people are working here um in the UK you might get one or two people in the shop that you can see but here it's like so many people are ready to help so that's definitely like a cultural difference that they noticed keeps wanting to use my bag I will have something to hold so I might get him this this is 199 peses then he can have I don't know put a toy in it or something and then you can take it around with him so yeah I think I'll surprise him with that later when he wakes up from his nap thank you very just picked up some fresh bco to keep hydrated um and now we're just walking around the food area and I think might stroll back over the High Street soon I think George and Koda are nearly ready to join us again um yeah really nice strolling around yeah it's different yeah it's so good for you amazing electrolytes like we have these on the islands all the time on like Island topping it keeps you very hydrated oh yeah it tastes reminds stupid as taste it tastes more like coconut but it's it's coconut water how can it not taste coconut it's much more like perfumed in the UK I think it's more like a buck of your throat flavor I think this is just so much nicer that's easily drinkable yeah yeah yeah and it's even better out of the coconut on the beach which you'll experience soon so with a straw yeah it's very nice yeah it is it's right what do you think think of the traffic just then M it was so funny all the bikes were beeping yeah and um and the guy in the middle was laughing say I'm not going to let you go you can wait you're having the Red glove for now the fluffy Red glove going to go green when I say so yeah traffic here is a bit crazy um right the plan now we're going to head to a little food CT to pick up some food for George and I I think I'm going to have something to eat as well and then you guys want to wait until dinner don't need to eat something so it depends what you're going to get I would so Hasty get you should try this I would noted down with food mango features like could [Music] yeah going to the georan store my dad quite likes his trainers How many pairs have you bought with you on the trip uh only two ooh not many running shoes for the gym lime me and just must have been hard for you to only pick two out it was I got six out at first six and I thought I can't just take trainers I need clothes very inappropriate just wear shoes just shoes wouldn't recommend [Music] that no one likes either pairs no one lik these they're not ugly like the other pair the red and black who's that I'm not sure yeah [Music] yeah [Music] reach [Music] wow is it a pterodactyl No it's not terod is it yeah I can't remember what it's called oh what come on guys one you must know you know what it is into the P ponosa Rex it's a praus it was that I think you said it parasaur lopus should put it back in your bag Z it up okay so we're heading out for yet another cup of coffee before dinner dinner's going to be exciting tonight very much looking forward to that so we have three coffee options now so you tried Anan Filipino brand we now have oh we're going this way we have Toby's estate which ISR Australian we saw it INR but we didn't have it okay it's kind of the flat white cups are a little bit shorter which is good Boulder it's more chocolaty slightly darker roast or we have araba Japanese which is similar taste to ankan little bit more potentially a little bit more creamy but there is an araba in the next part of Manila in a different mall if you want to wait for that one for another one true okay there's options for that right oh look at the dog third option Haren and Holden which I believe is Filipino I haven't seen it anywhere else yeah I don't know actually describe that taste as fairly it's like an all round hi like an all round please everyone nothing too interesting in The Taste but very very very nice coffee and then what about the location of them as well though like cfee shops they're all they're all nice the ARA storees brand new is really nice really big the first one sounded the best first one all right Toby it is for lots of reasons the size of the flat white the sort of chocolatey taste perect All Right Toby it is that's good I we it you wear it again you just more stop then stop walking one two there you go down down the steps of course start to recognize your way around a little [Music] B I'm in the back seat you should probably take the wheel I'm kind of Twisted inside and I don't know where I'm going I'm just just here for the ride okay I think this is my favorite time of day in BGC look at this behind me the sun's coming through the buildings and the trees there's a nice atmosphere it's Friday night here so um it's going to get busier and busier as the evening goes on but we're going to head to Toby's now have a coffee and then we're having dinner tonight A din i f which I'm excited for one of my early memories in the Philippines was trying that place um I think it's a worldwide brand but it's something I didn't know about until I got here and it's just a nice store here in BGC um and learning how to try to eat the soup dumplings and everything than the gentle monster store quick oh yeah the gentle monster store is weird seeing the the big man can you see the big man in the shop really impressive Place yeah it's really odd he's kind of scarily realistic like his toes look like real toes I don't like feet no I don't like feet oh there's a 3D screen here as well okay there's two actually even been here 24 hours have we that's a good BGC there yeah BGC and there's always like a pop up here Samsung at the moment but always something [Music] that dragon dragon I'm in the back seat you should probably take the Darker milk so it's quite I find it quite chocolatey and deep and Rich still good yeah oh yeah so we just took a little walk the three of us Lucy and cod up there playing down to bergo Circle I was just saying that it's a shame they're not here going to be here on a Sunday because they do super car Sunday Jason loves cars like me actually they both do and I was saying here on bergo Circle that they it's a really really good spot for superar Sunday but sadly it's Friday today we leave for the weekend tomorrow morning early so we're not going to manage to see super car Sunday sadly all right we can go getting used to crossing the road again in BGC we have to just make a decision to go on these Crossings I think they are supposed to stop so I was a little bit of confident there how are you finding the heat all right actually yeah I'm enjoying being warm good good be nice where there's a beach nearby it's definitely definitely don't get me wrong little bit different to the UK it's so bad what temperature was it when you left n but it was raining it was windy Gray yeah yeah good been like for weeks yeah and was didn't you see a forecast that said snow in some parts yeah something like ha stor proba up north oh hail storm storm yeah thunderstorms yeah well hope we left it all behind yes a lot of sunshine ahead of us yes scary scary we're going yet need to shake the camera Pi your said up we'd love it to be the distance from UK to Spain or something and then we could have more people over and like yeah exactly hop back and forth more but um when we it was like it's only a 12-hour flight and then a 2hour flight it was like felt like 24 hours from leaving the house to getting here and it was like it was exhausting and it's like it's not something you want to do like every few weeks exactly that's the only thing that's the one thing I wish it was as closer to England but I can't change that so God knows he's probably saying we're going to get ice cream we're going to get ice cream and that's why he's sat down yeah I don't know how he's kept him still for that long I love he can have him for the rest of the trip yeah we'll just have a holiday now Okay so we've come to DIN tyon and we I've ordered I think I've done quite a good job I've ordered for the table I've ordered a selection of things but it's going to be their first time trying Jong B um they've seen how it's made and now we're going to do the little Source thing we've got the how to card instructions yes so um very much looking forward to it I haven't eaten since breakfast have I not no I had ice cream but we shared an ice cream is that us oh it is us there you go than appr thank thank you so that's I think uh pork fried rice so like an egg fried rice with fornut probably the most boring dish of them all it looks good yeah should we wait for it to all come or is that going to all go cold it feels like the BGC time has gone quite quick doesn't it we're saying we're off off to the beach tomorrow off to the islands ah here we go these guys were saying how excited they are to see The Philippines beaches the Blue Water the white sand thank you so the J B's arrived we've got in here Ginger some rice vinegar and some soy sauce you've got an instruction card on how to eat the soup dumpling so basically the soup inside's really hot so if you just put it in your mouth it's just going to like incinerate but I've done it before I've had the burnt roof of my mouth for about 3 weeks afterwards so I would recommend it ruin the rest of the trip from this point for everyone and when you pick it up can you use dropti no use this you don't want to stab it yet you need it to be on the Bowl before on the spoon before you stab it it's better to demonstrate because otherwise if you make a hole in it the sup falls out and you don't want to lose the sup where's the sup inside it oh right so I'll show you I mean I can put one on your bowl for you you feed me so you dip it in the sauce then put it on your spoon yeah once it's on your spoon use the Chopsticks to make a hole and that lets some of the like the soup out so it cools down a little bit otherwise you're red okay there where you're going I'm just checking I'm doing it right yeah and then enjoy and you can add Ginger to it and then you just put it in in one it's a one mouthful but definitely let it cool down first they just come out want get the soup out now I'm going to get get your SC bir hot yeah it's good and you can add more like soy sauce and vinegar thank you can add more more sauce if you want it to be more vinegary or more so Saucy um yes don't feel like I made a big enough hole nervous I am I'm nervous cuz just burning your mouth for the rest of the week I don't want to be here for two weeks you done the hole you've done the hole you're fine if you've done the hole you've done the hole you're good can you imagine if it's the only hot one out of all of it ruined ni thank you you overw warned me there it's not anything like as hot as good very tasty good yeah good lovely and second we've got sweeten and Tow pork with the veg B Choy this is a noodle dish with some like Sesame peanut sauce um egg fried rice with pork and then this is the corn and pork chili one the chili SAU is quite hot in that one be and beef noodles with vegetables thank desert has arrived yes so we have no you do it cuz you ordered it you don't know what it is i' like to S you try a short video thank you thank you possible to to clear this one thank you we've got the black lava BCI which is like well how do you called BCI it's like glutenous rice with Sesame around the edge and then like fried it's kind of soft and chewy with like a filling inside and sesame seeds on the outside as you can see and then and then this is um this one's interesting so it's it's got salted egg in have you have you tried salted egg before no it's really popular out here they have like salted egg chips and they have like loads of things have it as a flavor so it's like U earlier it's like one of those flavors that you should try we out it but it's sweet so it's got it doesn't taste like it's not like scrambled eggs it doesn't taste like eggs and it's got It's like when cheesecake is cheesecake yeah it's that kind of thing cheese yeah yeah um so yeah you're welcome to have you can share one or you can have one each we we're easy we can have whatever's left like it's more for you to try it out the place CRA on but yeah you could probably split it down the middle you split one in half for you it might Pierce out an explosion [Music] yeah it's a breakfast item yeah custard custard thank you top sck whatever you like does it smell like eggs y custard oh okay egg custard yeah true you have egg custard [Music] didn't ooh now ooh that takes me back to something like a spool [Music] dessert like a semolina pudding type thing I know it's not semolina it's egg there's definitely a flavor about it I like it it's a nice flavor it's like you know you see in films and somebody goes and he just like takes them back and they like spinning through the ears that's my childhood coming yeah I've been here before and donuts make you cry like a vanilla slice or something yeah it's a Familiar Taste we've done real today George we've done like salted egg U coconut mango paa we've like ticked off a lot of Filipino flavors we've not had any Filipino food yet like as in the actual dishes but that's coming soon so whaty space but um it's cool you want to try the next one one each or do you want to share you can have one each them we can just share one well they were a hit anyway I like that good nuclear inside is it squiding oh look at what it is war it's not boring I'm not going to bur to go straight in okay what flavor is it it like Sesame like black sesame kind of like black sesame or like red bean maybe a bit like it's like a bean paste thing I think much prefer that really they're less sweet I think yeah from memory they're not that sweet but like work out whether or not you like the texture as well yeah it's quite a satisfying texture I like the like crunchy and the soft Sesame flavor I think traditionally I don't eat things that are black so I think if I was blindfolded eating it I'd probably be sort of like think hold you if you want yeah can't do that green I say black it's black it's called black GL it's not called green lava so I think if I couldn't see it I'd think oh that's not something I would eat it's black it's wrong yeah but it's bit psychological imagine it's like charcoal or something that's not helping that's the thing like face products charcoal I like the [Music] barbecue so we are just heading into roon to um show they really wanted to see a supermarket in the Philippines so I love a foreign Supermarket yeah you get all different stuff to the UK so stand up ready jump now these strawberries 755 so over 10 for a Panet of strawberries it's imported they don't look right they do they no I'm surprised they don't grow them here they do as well but it's like not the season for it at the moment so wait on your on your right I know very random sele like breakfast and jam so I plan to film some stuff in there I'm showing them around our old grocery store but the guards said we can't film and I've noticed that way more this time I've been told not to film like five times a day since being here I keep getting told to put the camera away so I don't know why you guys are going to have to use your imagination imagine what happened but I don't know why is there some new law or regulation or like it just feel like before here we could film everything all the time this time we're finding it harder to rock because we keep getting told to put the camera away people are always really nice it's always like sorry you can't film in here or can you put that away or whatever but we've noticed it way more than before I'm actually glad that BGC is photo friendly we saw a sign yesterday and it was like BGC is photo friendly any camera is allowed film whatever you want take a pictures of whatever you want I I find that really really nice and I think it's just a good thing like we're putting these videos out to people all around the world even if you don't have like a social media following you're just posting like pictures on your Instagram and then people your followers like from different countries see it your friends maybe you got friends in different countries maybe went to UNI somewhere else and then you can just share kind of what's going on in different parts of the world personally I think it's really cool like social media and blogging and stuff of course I would say that we're back at the food District underneath the mall in BGC and Luc and I used to come here like with basically increased how much we've been coming here it's slowly becoming one of our favorite not even slowly quickly becoming we were here last night and the night before I think becoming one of our favorite spots here for sure there's just so many options we're starting to try some of the different food things here and of course our favorite yogurt frozen yogurt spot in the world is here I'm not sure if we're getting it tonight are we getting the yogurt tonight Hi how are you hey I'm so ready for this moment I'm about to experience are you ready to experience this with me oh yeah yes we are back in the room back in the hotel room back on this beautiful bed at the Seda Hotel what day what an amazing day I feel like we've really done BGC Justice today obviously there's more we could have done we do have another day with them at the end of their trip before they go back to the airport to go back to London so we'll do a few more things then but we've really really enjoyed it I hope you guys have enjoyed watching this Vlog we've had literally the best day it's like our Dream Come True sharing the city that we lived in and we love so much with some of our family and the best bit is I really think they love it too so the plan now is to pack because we are off to very exciting location tomorrow for some real Philippines Filipino Paradise Island Adventure really really cannot wait for that we've got the flight isn't too bad the flight's the flight's like around midday so so I think we have to check out at around I think we're checking out around 8:30 got to drop the van back to Herz and then they shuttle us to the airport get off flight terminal four so tiny airport be cool to see their reaction to the airport even everything's new for them so it's so fun for Lucy and I just seeing their reaction to things and US kind of telling them how things work here and yeah it's been so so good and we're on day one this was the did they arrive last night my God they arrived this time last night we were driving to the airport so like they've been here one day and we've got a whole two weeks with them DD don't you feel like we've done so much already yeah we've done so good haven't we cod cod has loved it you're going to jump on Daddy yeah come then can you climb up on your own or are you too tired too tired too tired are you you're only two how can you be tired already you've only been here two years I'm I've been here 30 years mate anyway you guys are not going to want to miss the next Vlog so please make
