There is an untold truth about making a good first impression – an actual equation that allows you to build a connection from nothing.
It’s an equation that is hardly discovered by most people if at all, and is often overlooked by those who are trying to make more friends, impress a girl or just simply build their social lifestyle.
In this video, we’ll take a look at exactly what that equation is.

First impressions start before you even show up. If you arrive late, the first information you provide about yourself is that you are potentially disorganized or inconsiderate. Show up within a minute or two of the proposed meeting time.
In most situations, you'll make a great first impression if you make the first friendly overture. Shake hands firmly and introduce yourself. When the other person has introduced him or herself, say "It's nice to meet you." Make sure you introduce yourself to everyone in a group, not just the most important looking person.
Eye contact is the most important element you can provide. You will look confident, friendly, relaxed, and attentive if you focus on the person you are talking to. Smiling is also important, but don't force it. Nobody can tell if you are willing yourself to make eye contact, but they can tell if you are willing yourself to smile.
Even if you feel nervous, you can sound relaxed and confident by speaking slowly and calmly. Modulate your volume, and be clear. Don't shout, whisper, or mumble. Think before you speak—blurting something out will show that you are not collected.
Check in with yourself before and during the encounter. Check your heart, your hands, and your breathing. Notice how you are sitting or standing, and name what you can feel, hear, and see. Being conscious of the sensory information you are taking in will help you regain control.
Being a good listener will give others an incredibly good impression of you. To listen actively, pay close attention to what is being said. Reflect it back by affirming occasional statements with a nod or a smile, and by repeating what the other person says to make sure you have it right.
Ask follow-up questions when someone gives you information about him or herself, to show interest. Ask informed questions based on information you gathered before the meeting, as well as information garnered from the conversation. Ask open-ended questions that get others talking.

First impressions, they say that a first impression could last forever.
From the moment you were born, you left an impression so beautiful, that it would last
an eternity.
At least, that's what you were told.
Once you went to school, that perspective changed.
You realized, you're not as special.
No one is.
Most people start to believe that it's all about luck, and winning the genetic lottery.
What is it?
And that's where I come in.
Because in today's video, I want to go over the 7 secrets to make a killer first impression.
And a big hint, it's not about looks.
So with that said, let's jump into the video.
Number 1.
Be timely.
First impressions start before you even show up.
So if you arrive late, that means that you're disorganized and inconsiderate.
Always try to show up at least 5 minutes before the situation.
Although I know it varies on every scenario and situation, but be mindful of what people
can expect from you.
If you're going for a job interview or a first date, try to actually show up on the exact
time.
If you show up too early, it will look like you're a tryhard.
But on the other side, if you show up too late, it will actually look like you're disorganized.
So make sure what's expected from the situation, and time accordingly.
Number 2.
Introduce yourself.
In most situations, you'll make a first great impression if you're the one that makes a
friendly gesture.
Shake hands and introduce yourself.
If the other person has introduced himself, say, it's nice to meet you.
Another thing that you need to take into consideration is that, whether there are other people as
well.
Because most likely, if you're trying to make a good first impression, you're a bit nervous,
and tend to forget to actually shake hands with everyone, or at least introduce yourself
to everyone.
Because otherwise, instead of it being the best great impression, it will be the best
great flop.
Because make sure you also take the others into consideration.
If you're seated and you're meeting someone, stand up and shake their hand.
If someone is talking to someone you know, you can greet both of them, and just wait
until your acquaintance introduces you to the other person.
However, don't wait for more than a minute, because if your acquaintance fails to do so,
you better do it yourself.
Make an impression with your first words.
Instead of saying, it's nice to meet you, say something similar, like, it's a pleasure
to meet you.
If you're in a social situation, you can make a light-hearted joke.
Actually make sure you're not making a joke about the person, because otherwise you'll
offend them.
Because that will ruin your first impression.
Number 3.
Make eye contact and smile.
Eye contact is the most powerful thing you can use when you're talking to a new person.
Because it will actually show that you're confident, relaxed, and attentive to that
person.
Smiling is also important, because it makes you look more friendly.
Smiling is a very powerful tool, and I've pretty much never heard someone say, that
person is smiling too much.
You should smile to actually communicate to the person that you're actually pleased to
meet them.
Hold yourself tall.
If you're someone that actually wants to showcase that they got authority, and are also confident,
stand up tall with your head upright.
To showcase friendliness and interest, tilt your head a little bit.
So if you actually didn't know, one of the traits that most females use to actually show
interest is to tilt their head a little bit.
So next time if you see something like that, you know it's game on.
Number 4.
Sound confident.
Even if you're nervous, you can sound relaxed and confident if you talk slowly and calmly.
Modulate your voice and be clear.
Don't be someone that's mumbling, or shouting, or is too quiet.
Also, think before you speak.
Because if you're someone that wants to say something instantly when it comes into their
mind, and you're gonna say something and then suddenly stop it, because you realize it's
pretty dumb, you won't make a good first impression.
Try to prevent saying something like, I'm late, and sorry I'm a jerk, but at least I
didn't run someone over when I was trying to come here.
Also, trying to find faults in others will make you seem less confident.
Because if you're someone that's gonna say, sorry I'm late because the person next to
me couldn't park at all.
It will look like that you have to blame everything on others rather than taking accountability.
Instead, take responsibility.
If you turn up late, that's fine.
Just apologize and you'll be good to go.
Number 5.
Calm down.
Notice how you are standing or sitting.
And also, name what you're feeling, what you're seeing, and what you are hearing.
Being conscious of the sensory information will help you to regain control and at the
same time positioning.
Name how you feel and accept it.
Say, I'm nervous and that's the reason what's making it hard for me to think straight.
And then, take a deep breath and count from 10 to 1.
After that, just address yourself by your name.
Say, Junaid, you're nervous and that's okay.
Because this is what a lot of psychologists use to calm other people down.
And it actually works.
Number 6.
Listen up.
Being a good listener will give people an incredible first impression of you.
To listen actively, just pay close attention of what is said.
Reflect it back by affirming occasional statements such as just smiling or nodding.
Another thing that you can do is just to repeat what the person is saying just to make sure
that you're actually listening to them.
But don't actually try to repeat it word for word because this will showcase that you're
just robotic.
Instead, try to rephrase everything and showcase that you actually understand what they are
saying to you.
For instance, if someone says, I just want to live my own life and I actually don't want
others to tell me what to do.
In that case, you can just rephrase it rather than saying what they said by just saying,
so you want to be your own judge.
This will showcase that you've got social intelligence and will also show them that
you're a good listener.
Which in return will make a great first impression.
Number 7.
Ask good questions.
Ask follow up questions when someone is giving you information because this way you show
them that you're interested.
Ask questions that you already had prepared before you met that person and at the same
time also ask questions that you just realized once you met them.
Because this way you've got enough information to let them speak for hours and hours.
And the thing is, people rather speak about themselves than listen to you.
So if you're someone that's listening to them, that will showcase that you're interested
and that will definitely make a good first impression.
A bonus tip is to ask open questions because this way you can get them talking.
A open question is one that you simply can't answer with a yes or no.
Instead of saying, did you have an okay time to find this place, to which they can respond
yes or no, you can probably say something like, how do you find this place?
They can't say yes or no because there's not enough possibility.
And guys, if it was up to me, I can speak hours and hours about social situations because
there's so much to cover because one of the things that most of you guys don't know is
the Barnum Statement which is a powerful tool to utilize to make a great first impression.
So if you actually made it to the end of this video, most likely it means that you're interested
in social situations and at the same time I would encourage you to consider to subscribe
to this channel because I will post more videos in the future about it.
And also smash the like button because that will help your brother out.
That's it for me, I'll see you on the other side.
