Cubs and Brewers back here in
Wrigley this afternoon.
As we wrap up this series
Jamison Tyone on the mound the
results have been good.
He's having a very nice year.
One of only 16 pitchers with ten
or more quality starts by fly
ball shallow right field is
there.
Freelich retired the batter now
is Jackson Churio Churio hits
one down the line that is going
to fall.
Picking it up on a hop is half
on his way to second Churio
aggressive base running a hustle
double with one away in the
first inning.
What an opportunity to take an
early lead against Tyone.
Here's Christian Yelich.
Yelich turns on one a base hit
down the right field line.
Churio is going to score easily.
Yelich held to a single and the
Brewers strike first and you can
hear Brewers fans here at
Wrigley Field today.
One nothing Milwaukee back to
back hits RBI number forty four
for Christian Yelich.
This is eighth double this year.
I think part of their plan
against Tyone is to be
aggressive.
He's going to fill up the zone
doesn't walk a lot of guys
doesn't strike out a lot of
guys.
Yelich able to reach out and
touch this ball in the right
field brings up William
Contreras now on the ground.
The third shot picks it up to
Nikko.
And that's two Brewers get a run
on a couple of hits leave none.
Freddy Peralta Tim gets his
sixteenth start of the year.
He's been great.
He has especially in June three
quality starts as an ERA of two
last time out against the
Cardinals six innings just one
run on the ground at Hoskins
ranging over from the seat of
his pants makes a nice play.
Lots of ways to record it out.
Rhys Hoskins made a similar play
to this except he wasn't sitting
completely down in Game 1 but
finds Freddy in the flat.
A lot of people can do it on
their feet.
It's a real man to do it.
That's right.
And very few could offer
analysis like you with so much
experience throwing from the
seat of your pants.
Yeah.
Missing inside he would change
up again and there is a watch a
one out one on one nothing
Milwaukee here in the bottom of
the first and the batter is
saying Suzuki right field
Freilich Sal makes the catch to
away.
Well here he is the guy
everybody in Chicago and I think
at least in part around baseball
and buzzing about Karl
Armstrong.
Two outs man at first that is
hammered right field that's back
on its way.
Pete Armstrong has homered again
and the Cubs take a two to one
lead.
Can we say Segal he gets his
pitch.
I believe it's a little back
door slider cutter from Peralta
up and out over the plate.
He just hammers his ball into
the bleachers in right Cubs
league two to one is 20th of the
year and the crowd buzzing and
wriggling already.
Pete Armstrong has been must see
TV and the fans have been
appreciating after his homerun
and huge defensive play on
Tuesday.
They wanted a curtain call.
He said he wasn't ready quite
yet.
Wasn't sure how to handle it.
And then today after his
homerun he goes back out.
And what does he do.
He appreciates the fans takes
off his cap and says thank you.
One away in the batter is Reese
Hoskins.
Here's Reese Hoskins fly ball in
the deep left got some carry and
Hoskins sends one out of here.
And we are tied at two as
Hoskins pops his eleventh
homerun of the season.
Second home run off Jamison tie
on this year and Hoskins makes
it a two to game in the second
on a sweeper away Hoskins.
We know he loves to pull it.
You can see how high in a way it
is and he just blasts this ball
in the left field.
Isaac Collins draws a walk and
see if they can get something
going with Collins over at first
base.
One out one on one in.
Game tied at two in the second
and the batter is Caleb Durbin
and Durbin drills one at the
center field that's got a chance
and Durbin sends it out to run
a homerun for Caleb Durbin.
The local kid connects for a two
run bomb and the Brewers have
the lead third homerun of the
season for Caleb Durbin four to
Milwaukee.
Well this is a way to get
Jamison tie on he led the
National League coming into this
starting home runs allowed with
16 and he's already given up a
couple in the first two innings
of this one.
Jackson Cheerio ready to lead
off after he doubles in the
first inning and he shoots one
into right field man the Brewers
are getting in their licks on
Jamison Tyler a ton of hard hit
balls to start this game.
Eleven batters into this with
Yelich at the plate back up the
middle it's another hit Yelich
is aboard Cheerio is going to
head to third Christian Yelich
is two for two.
Great start to the third inning
for the Brew crew.
And here's William Contreras and
another base hit first ball
swinging right on Q Dilley.
Good call.
Contreras aggressive he singles
in a run and it's five to two
Milwaukee.
Well Ty on has been doing well
this year by filling up the zone
early with good pitches and
getting ahead and hasn't been
walking a lot of guys doesn't
really strike out a lot of guys
lets his defense play.
But this Brewers team is just
hunting for it almost a knuckler
back up the middle for Gainesby.
It's been a rough stretch last
twenty two a one eighty eight
that he hits that fastball left
field on its way out of here.
Home run for Dansby Swanson get
out the tape measure for
Dansby a long blast halfway up
into the seats over near the
video board and now it's a five
a three ball game.
You took the three old fastball
right down the middle.
So now you've seen one.
If he comes back with the same
pitch you should be right on
time.
Dansby was right on time for
pitch walk for Contreras.
It comes with one away here in
the top of the fifth inning.
The batter Bryce Turang Turang
gets into one into right center
long run and down a base hit
Tucker and Crow Armstrong bad
communication out there and it
bounces on the grass.
That's going to be a double for
Turang second and third for the
Brewers here with one out and
they become just looking at each
other like who's going to get to
do it.
I think there's a point where
Kyle Tucker thinks that Pete
Crow Armstrong is just going to
catch everything with you.
I could not agree.
Bad news bears like just
assuming Kelly leaks out there
and going to make every play two
outs in the inning still second
and third for Collins and
Collins in the air to left field
that ball's hit well.
Isaac Collins stay hot.
A three run home big blow for
the Brew crew here in the fifth
inning a three run blast for
Isaac Collins comes with two
outs and it's eight to three
Milwaukee back to back games for
a home run for Collins in game
one it was a curve ball down and
then this one's another curve
ball this time from the right
side.
What a find he has been leadoff
single for Ortiz who's now two
for three back to the top of the
order in South Freeland.
Look out caught in the net like
a fly trap.
Oh oh we got to do it.
Don't do it.
No God.
Oh God.
Oh and I'm in khakis.
Wow.
Finance bro went up the netting
to fetch a bat.
Oh I don't think you can take it
from him at this point.
I wouldn't give it up.
I would not give it up.
I think they're kicking him out
because he tucked in that polo
shirt so tight.
I'm not sure about the ejection
here.
I mean yeah let's get that back
to Sal.
No no.
I'm not.
I'm against all of this right
now.
I mean I don't want a guy
climbing the net either.
But let's be honest.
He was efficient and he got the
bat.
He's saying where is the sign
that says I can't climb the net.
Have you seen the stock market
today.
Yeah.
Can't climb the net anymore.
I mean I don't want anybody
climbing the net either.
But what's done is done.
Really could be happy to know
that he's got his bat back.
Runner goes oh a shot off of
flex and he recovers and makes
the play.
Wow.
That was scary.
Joey Ortiz was on the move.
He ends up at second base.
Bad break for a free like oh
they brought him back.
He's back the hero.
He comes back a hero.
That's a good move.
Can't kick him out.
Every kid around here during
Halloween is going to be wearing
a blue polo shirt.
Oh man he's the new Bartman.
But the hero the other side
finance bro.
Let's get that guy in the booth.
Let's go.
I mean a violation for the
climb.
However he pulled it off.
Yeah.
Is he wearing wallabies.
Thought he was getting kicked
out.
He returns.
Good job Cubs.
Just a stern warning.
That's the way it should be.
Let him get back in his seat.
And now Ian have coming up two
outs and a man at second fly
ball center field to back back
some more looking in half to run
over the Cubs within three.
We're not done yet.
Third long ball of the day for
the Cubs five hits today.
Three of them have left the park
for Ian.
It's number eight.
This pitch starts out in her
effort stays in the middle of the
plate and he doesn't miss it.
He bangs this one just to the
left field side of the hitting
background and straight away
center long home run.
And now Abner Uribe the set up
man to Trevor McGill coming on
for the eighth inning.
Some man at first one away
eight five Milwaukee last of the
eighth inning and the batter
Dansby Swanson.
And that is Paul.
With a slider look like a good
pitch according to the K-Zone.
But a hit batter and a walk and
the Cubs have the tying run
coming to the plate.
Well here's Michael Busch.
Both for two in the walk.
They all pitch.
A great take by Michael Bush.
High anxiety moment.
The layoff that chase slider and
accept his walk.
Garci Kelly a single his last
time up on the ground towards
the hole.
Ortiz has it to second for one
and that's all they get.
Run comes in to score and it's
eight six roll over towards the
hole quick to second base hoping
to get to terrain just acting as
the first baseman they're
stretching to make sure they get
the added second on the speedy
Bruhan.
He's going to go.
Towards the hole diving play
Ortiz not going to get anyone
running.
It's a one run game infield
single.
The turn to hit batter two walks
and a couple of ground balls to
the shortstop and the two runs
here in the eight.
Another real nice play by Ortiz
but there's no play to be made.
And a golden opportunity for
Matt Shaw tying run at second.
Oh two runners go pitches a
little flair to rang will call
it and make the play for the
out.
And the inning is over.
They lead by one as Trevor
McGill comes on to try to nail
down save number 16.
Man two pitches in that sequence
that caught the border of the
strike zone that last one should
have been strike three but it
wasn't.
It's a lead off walk and now you
deal with Kyle Tucker with the
tying run on base.
Got him big pitch from Trevor
McGill at one hundred miles an
hour.
First out of the inning Tucker
is gone.
Two to go say a Suzuki now three
and two the count Suzuki on the
ground got a chance here out at
second.
Throw the first in time and a
double play ball game.
Trevor McGill endures all of it.
Leaves Pete Crow Armstrong on
deck.
That was a big time save by
Trevor McGill and a signature
win for the Brewers here eight
to seven the final this Thursday
afternoon at Wrigley.
