#dogtrainingtips#dogtraining#doglife Let's face it, obedience is boring. But we can make it fun. It doesn't have to be commands after commands that lead to nothing. I believe that making training fun is a big component in getting your dog to not only want to train, but to LOVE TO TRAIN.
Simply teaching your dog to heel on your left side is a boring exercise for your dog... I have this game that I teach so my dog will switch from left to right to center and even other imaginable way. In this video I'll give you the basic starting exercises to teach it - and make it fun.
For this I use food rewards, great tasing treats, like Ziwi Peak which you can order here: https://crrnt.app/ZIWI/l4Ook5kE use my code Cabral20 and save
Using treats will give you more repetition with your dog and less down time. I love using toys, but here I will focus the whole training on using treats.
Your dog will understand the overall concept of this exercise very quickly, but to master it will take some time. Be patient and don't rush your dog.

Have fun training your dog...
Let's talk today a little bit about how to make your dog change his side.
You know, usually the dog will be on your left side, so if I tell him,
Hey, Faust, take this position, and most of your work will be done on this side.
So the idea I really want to show you in this video is how to make him change his side,
and even walk over your leg.
So what I always do is I always use food to lure him.
And I like to use food instead of toys in the case of a dog with strong drive,
like this one, because if I pull out the toy, he'll just get up.
So if I can lure him to this position, show him this.
Good boy, pay him, and then do it again.
Okay, so he's here in front, I'll show him the food, catch him.
Okay, pay him.
When I see this position, I can even take a cookie, throw it on the ground,
he'll get it, so he'll be away from me, and then I'll lure him back to this position.
Okay, good boy, I'll throw the cookie.
I'll lure him back to this position.
So when I see it over and over again, I'll start giving it a name.
Whatever you call it, you make it up.
For example, I'll use a faust on this side, so when he's in this position, I'll say fuzz.
I'll lure him and he'll be in this position.
Now, due to the amount of training we've done with him,
he can take this position without a snack, without a treat.
So if I just tell him fuzz, you'll see that he'll take this position.
He did it over and over again.
On the other hand, you'll want your dog to be on the other side,
so I'll throw the cookie on the ground.
Now, this time, I'll go here and put him in this position.
Now, this is the exact opposite, and these positions are what's called J-Ends.
In other words, if the dog is theoretically in front of me here,
and I want him to go next to me, I'll go back here.
So basically, I'm drawing J, I'm going this way.
And here I'm going this way.
Still J on both sides, because the dog goes from the front here to around there.
Now you'll want to choose a different name or word for this side.
So if I use fuzz on this side, you can use heal on this side.
I use with me on this side to make him understand that it's a completely different position.
So dog training doesn't have to be complicated.
In reality, it should be fun.
When training is fun for both you and your dog,
your dog is successful, and you like to train.
That's what I developed in my online dog training.
Regardless of whether you're looking for advanced solutions to basic obedience problems,
or competitive obedience and tricks,
whether you're dealing with aggression, problem solving,
such as jumping on people, pulling a leash, or anything else,
my online dog training includes exactly that.
There are over 170 lessons, over 60 hours of designed learning,

My words here are with me there.
Then it would be, and the next thing would be release, or in order, or whatever, to release him.
Then there would be fuzz on this side, right?
Yes, good, fuzz is coming.
Then I would go with me.
So if I throw a cookie there and say, come on, you can go there.
When I have him in the flying position, I'll start going towards the camera.
And you'll see that he stays in the flying position, right?
And even if I come back, he stays in the flying position.
Now I have a cookie here.
Now if he leaves me, he won't get the cookie, right?
So if he stays here, I'll pay him.
Good, and I won't let him go.
I use the word good, which is a bridge marker.
Good, good, good.
Pay.
Good.
And because I have food in both hands, he stays even.
If I had food only in my right hand, he would lean towards my right hand, and I don't want that.
So I have food, he knows that it's in both hands.
I feel it again.
Good, good, good, good, good.
Now I lick this hand, but I'll pay him with this hand, so fly.
We're still in the flying position.
Now look.
If I want him to change sides, I just have to say good.
And he's going to the right.
Okay, put him back.
No, through, great, good, through, good, through.
So mark it, good, through.
And again, I'll go over with him a little.
Good, back, great, good, through, through, back, back, good.
And then I go left and move him to this side.
Turn.
Good boy.
And again, I always make sure I have food in both hands, because I don't want them to lean in one or the other direction.
Edible boy, so here.
If a dog does this, if a dog becomes a dog, try not to take it to yourself and tell the dog not to bark and not to say, hey, don't do it.
Because he's a dog, if he gets frustrated, he gets aggressive and starts barking, I just tell my dog to lie down.
If he's too excited, he can't handle it, he's watching what's going on.
And when that happens, I just say, hey, lie down.
Okay, he's too excited, lie down and I'll leave him.
Take a break, then I'll be back.
Because if he's excited and I start to improve him and ride on him, like, hey, don't do it.
Everything he does will lift him even more.
Good sows, good sows.
What is it?
Chip for the boy.
And then give him a reward.
And time for a party.
And we play.
Oh, what a nice boy.
Yes.
And then he'll get his toy.
And that will be the end of the session.
