My name is Sam and this is another drag race. Let's roll!
Imagine you're driving a Maserati Levante and next to you pulls up a BMW X6
and just on the other side a Genesis GV80 Coupe joins.
Now in some ways all three are coupe design. Levante looks like a coupe, more like an SUV,
but the other two are essentially coupes. We're going to find out how these three compare against
each other on a road race and a drag race and the first thing we're going to do is the drag race,
but before we do that special thanks for this video goes to our great friends at Maserati of
Toronto. They were kind enough to allow me to borrow this 2022 model used because if you're
interested or you can check the link in the description below which I will be posting.
It's in mint conditions only 21 000 kilometers and this one though doesn't have the V8 but if
you want to you could get a V8, the Ferrari V8, still a Ferrari engine and then beside me that's
an inline-six that's the famous B58 and then all the way to the other side we've got a V6 twin
turbo. So they're all three six-cylinders turbocharged all-wheel drive SUVs. Let's talk
about the specs. First up is the 2024 Genesis GV80 Coupe with a 3.5 liter V6 twin turbocharged
and it uses an e-supercharger. Compared to the SUV this makes 409 brake horsepower and 405 pound
feet of torque. It is equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It is all-wheel drive with
Next up is the 2023 BMW X6 40i which uses a 3 liter inline-six twin power turbocharged engine
and it makes 335 brake horsepower and 330 pound feet of torque with an eight-speed automatic
transmission. It is all-wheel drive or xDrive system from BMW and it has a curb weight of
Having said that, the B58 in this car is rated about 375 brake horsepower which I'm assuming 335
means wheel horsepower. Next up is the 2022 Levante Modena which uses a 3 liter V6 twin
turbocharged engine making 425 brake horsepower and 428 pound feet of torque with an eight-speed
transmission. It is all-wheel drive with a curb weight of 4850 pounds. Now I do realize that this
makes more horsepower than the other two vehicles but don't worry because we'll add some weight
towards the end of the video. Just kind of like make it fair in terms of power to weight ratio
but for now let's roll. Okay boys I have mine into drive. We're going to keep it in automatic
transmission not manual shifting. I have it in sport mode all the way. Traction off. You guys
ready? Sport transmission. You have sport transmission. Okay boys we're doing the first
world race at 50 kilometers an hour and automatic transmission sport mode all the way for everybody.
Traction off. I am good to go. Everybody ready? When I say three two one go on go we roll together.
Okay three two one go. Okay that BMW is not making what I say but yeah I got it.
What? The Genesis and the BMW. Are you kidding me? Okay that was crazy. Wow.
Okay boys make sure to drive not reverse. We're gonna do again we're gonna do the 80 kilometers
an hour. When I say three two one go we go together just right beside each other. You guys ready?
Just keep it in automatic mode. Okay three two one go. Wow.
I'm gone.
I'll have Christian jump in the Maserati. Maybe we can even out a little bit because I make more
power and with a bit more weight. Let's see the difference with a bit more weight. Let's do one.
Christian is going to jump in the back of the Levante and add some weight to it. Okay so I
have Christian in the back. He's like 150 plus pounds. Let's just call it that way. I don't know
but okay boys. Okay here we go. Yeah that's not helping. I'm still faster.
Oh that's not helping at all. I actually smoked it even more.
Actually I did do a faster time this time. I think you've been in the back.
Did Marcelo, did you have a problem? I think for me anymore. Okay boys let's just call it a quit.
That was it. Maserati is faster. Simple as that. Even with weight in the back it's not
making a difference. Like I'm still winning. It's got more horsepower and I'm gonna tell you this.
The BMW has an amazing engine but this one it's even better. Like I know this for a fact. This
engine is so freaking good on the Alfas. It's a Ferrari engine and it's got so much top end
power. This is one thing I feel with this. Like the faster I go as I'm getting closer to the
quarter mile the more power this thing produces. I don't know how but it feels so much faster top
end. Crazy car. I love it. Now one thing I want to mention is that towards the end as we were
doing the last drag race the Genesis seemed like it was losing power. I don't know why.
There's still fuel in the car so I'm not sure what's going on. Like it can't be overheating.
I mean if it is that's gonna be weird. It's pretty cold today. It's like two degrees not even zero
right now. It feels like the BMW and the Maserati are just performing better. It's crazy to like
put these things together but they kind of compete with each other so it makes more sense.
To the people that say that I should have the GT instead of the Modena, well unfortunately we don't
just pick whatever we can. We just do whatever we have. Like whatever we have we're gonna race it.
You can pick a less powerful version of this thing but I think this it's kind of like the
sweet spots in many ways. It's got an amazing engine. It was fun. It was really fun. That BMW
doesn't make what they say because that thing was like beside me for a while. I'm just cat
like I'm going away from him just towards the end because almost like halfway he's
right beside me kind of thing. Anyways thanks for watching. Cheers.
