I'm just glad there's not rain. That's
how I am from Seattle. That's how
appreciative I am of New York. I
appreciate it, too. I got a pet peeve.
How come people always move to New York
and then immediately want to travel? I'm
walking around the city right now with
Stephie. You guys know her from the
Cheap Chinatown Eats. We're going to go
meet up a friend for dinner. I know it's
a very early dinner. Maybe a pre-suffer,
whatever you want to call it. But I got
something we were talking about where it
was like you just moved here from
Hawaii. What about 3 and a half months
ago? Mhm. and you experience kind of the
tail end of winter and then you got
spring and then now it's getting into
summer. It's so hot. I'm so sweaty right
now. It's a different kind of heat. But
but you you're saying that you want to
leave and go back to Hawaii. No, I said
now I know why everyone says that
everyone leaves New York in the
summertime cuz it's so hot. But then
people also say a lot of people leave
New York in the winter time too. So, how
do people move to New York and want to
leave during the winter and the summer?
And who can even afford to do that?
Okay. Well, you're you don't mind summer
here because you're from Seattle. You're
saying I'm more appreciative of this.
Yeah. I just froze for months. Now it's
thawing off. I'm just glad there's not
rain. That's how I am from Seattle.
That's how appreciative I am of New
York. I appreciate it, too. I love the
winter. I was like, "This is so great.
Everyone was freezing. I was like, "This
is amazing. There's snow. Oh my gosh."
fresh. So, I appreciate winter, okay?
But summer here is just I don't know if
it's the building, the concrete, it's
just all the heat is just back it up
real quick. So, you're not one of the
people that wants to leave during the
winter. You like the winter cuz you
moved here, you spent a lot of time here
in the winter and that convinced you to
move to New York. So, I you know when I
told you back I said Steph if you like
like New York in the winter, you're
going to love it during the spring. Yes.
Which I did. Yes. So you you so you love
I love it now. Yes. But I just said I
understand why everyone leaves. I get it
now. I was like how could you hate
summer? It's just like similar to New
York. New York summer is similar to Asia
summer. You know how everyone like in
summertime you're going to die like from
heat and blah blah blah. Okay. So so I
get the discomfort because I'm kind of
wet right now. I'm not going to lie. And
it does feel like Asia. But what I was
going to say is that I love the energy
of the summer in New York because I'm
more of like an energy of the people.
This is just my opinion. I get it,
right? You know what I'm saying? We're
like everybody's out. You know, I might
wear a tank top at some point. You know,
just a tank cuz you know, I've been
working out. So, I'll do that, right? I
get it. Everyone in the winter time kind
of hibernated stays indoors.
Now, you get to see people walking
around in tank tops and like cute like,
you know, slippers and stuff, shorts.
But I came to a place where it's summer
all year round and everyone dresses like
that all year round. So, I guess maybe I
don't think it's anything different. I
It is nice though. I feel the energy.
Everyone's happier, smiling. So, what
are you going to be doing in Hawaii? If
you go back, let's say you go back to
Hawaii for a couple weeks, what are you
going to be doing? I am going for a
couple weeks. I'm sweating. I'm going to
the beach. Oh, that's another thing. How
you going to have summer without a beach
that you can swim in? That's like right
there. There are beaches in New York.
Yeah, but how far do I have to travel to
get there? And they're not like I can
walk 10 minutes from my place in Hawaii
and be at the ocean. So Steph, I guess
every just you're just telling everybody
to be like you just go back to the
summer. Yeah, come let's go to Hawaii
together. Let's go. Let's go. Let's
Everybody can do that. Everybody out
there who's just go Hawaii. Easy as
that. Yeah. Buy small so Andrew can pay
for all our tickets. Woohoo. You have to
buy a lot of small. Anyways, my side
note is uh on the dating apps I always
see like like girls say uh just moved to
New York, but I'm looking for a travel
buddy. And I'm like, "Wait, so you just
moved to New York and you're already
thinking about traveling?" But you
didn't even travel around New York yet.
New York's fun. You can travel when
you're back here. You can Why do people
move to New York just to travel? I don't
get it. When you're not traveling, it's
really fun still versus you're stuck
somewhere boring and you have to travel.
Now, when you're New York, you can still
travel, but then when you're home, you
can still have adventures. Wait, so
you're so you're agreeing with those
people? Yeah, it's win-win. It's like my
home base now is somewhere exciting with
like great energy, ambitious people, and
I'm also seeing new places, exploring
new experiences, and then you come home
to another great experience. But New
York is so hard to move to. It's so
expensive to live in. Why do people just
want to get here and leave? I don't get
it. I guess if you can find a sublet,
some things are worth it. It depends on
what's worth it to you. I don't know if
I'm going to post this video anyways.
Why? All right, guys. Uh, we're going to
go get dinner real quick with at 4:30
with my friend Candace. This person
right here. Where is he? How are you?
All right, everybody. We're here at Chi
Chinese Restaurant. Definitely check it
out on 37th Street. I'm here with
Candace. Candace, you actually uh you're
also raised in Hawaii, right? Yes. Yes.
Uh that's kind of how you know Steph,
but you're also from China. Where?
Northern part. Give a shout out. Yeah,
absolutely. Aloha everyone. This is
Candace. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, grew
up everywhere. Uh went to middle school
in China and then moved to Sri Lanka
when I was 17 and lived in California
and Europe. Okay. So you Anyways,
anyways, you've lived everywhere or
you've lived in a lot of places and
you've traveled a lot. So why do people
are they the same person who says, "Hey,
I like to leave New York in the winter
because it's too super cold." Are they
the same people who are like, "Oh, I
like to get out of New York during the
summer because it's muggy." How can
these be the same people? Is it that
they just have this so much money or is
it like who can do that or like what do
you think? What's your opinion on it?
Okay. Okay. So this my perspective uh my
two cent um like I moved to New York
City because I think New York it's the
city of dreams city or opportunities and
I wanted to be here to become the person
that I really want to become. Uh but
because we work so hard that's why we
wanted to get out a little bit to
recharge to be rejuvenated and so we can
come back work a little bit harder. So
that's my take. So it's like you you
want to leave New York, take a break,
come back in. We can dive straight into
it. We can grind harder. It works. So
where are you going? And are you leaving
at all for a significant amount of time
in the summer? Besides going into your
heart, uh
by making it into the YouTube uh yeah,
besides going to your heart, don't be
tricked by her. Don't don't fall for her
trick. Say it from my heart. Those are
Jedi mind tricks, guys. Okay, so what?
uh this summer, California, Korea, uh
possibly China, and then come back.
Korea's gonna be super hot, right?
I mean, those places are all gonna be
hot. You Yeah. Yeah. You guys should
come. You guys should come with cuz
you're hotter. So, like, you know, we
can probably beat that weather.
[Laughter]
So, anyways guys, just to kind of round
out this video, I just feel like you
need to really have a strong
appreciation of New York. Obviously, I
get it. Candace makes a good point. You
work so hard when you're here. You got
to get out, take a break. Obviously, it
is very hectic outside. Uh there's
sirens everywhere. I get it. It can be
hectic. I recommend trying to find a
place of peace in the city if that's
possible or right outside of the city.
Obviously, not everybody can travel uh
globally, internationally, all the time.
But definitely like I get your point
about leaving, taking a break,
resetting, recharging, then getting back
in New York and just grind grind. Yes.
Yes.
Anyways, guys, let me know what you
think in the comments down below uh
about this because I always thought it
was funny where people are always like,
"Oh, I got to leave New York in the
winter." And then they're like, "Oh, I
got to leave in the summer." I'm like,
"You're just leaving New York all the
time. Why even live here?" But I guess
there is another York perspective to it,
right? Maybe I'm just Maybe I'm just so
pro New York. We're also We're also pro
New York. Yeah, we're also pro New York.
I agree. We're all about New York. Our
home is City of Dreams.
Dreams. City of Dreams. City of Dreams.
Oh, I'm going to take your mic off. All
right. Thank you everybody. Please hit
that like button. Uh and check out other
