Join us as we hike through the stunning Nuratau Mountains, a hidden gem in Uzbekistan. Most visitors stick to the Silk Road cities, but we ventured off the beaten path. After the Kyzylkum Desert we are hiking from Sob Village to Sentyab, experiencing local life in its purest form. The breathtaking views along the way, green oasis villages, and the warmth of Uzbek families made this one of the most memorable parts of our trip. We stayed in rural homestays, enjoying delicious homemade meals, endless cups of green tea, and genuine hospitality. If you’re looking to leave the cities behind and immerse yourself in nature and culture, hiking the Nuratau Mountains is an absolute must. Watch as we share our trek and unforgettable experiences! Traffic.
Good morning. We're on our first hike. So we left the Kizilkum desert camp this morning
and they drove us to Sop village from where we are hiking now for two hours to Sentiap village
where we will spend the night tonight and also the afternoon. And these are our views.
So we arrived in Sentiap village, the first village where we're gonna spend the night.
And this is our room for tonight. Very basic. Each our own bed. But the property is super cute.
We already had lunch when we arrived with other people.
And yeah they have a whole garden. We have nice views of the surrounding mountains. Really
beautiful. We've been spending most of our afternoon here underneath the tree. Just like
breathing, chilling. It's been nice after so much like sightseeing to just have an afternoon to
relax in the greenery. Just what I hoped for actually in Uzbekistan. Like a homestay, guest
house with a serene garden just to sit in the shadow a little bit laid back. They also grow
their own vegetables. We have some aubergine and some red bell peppers. I saw the host
getting some earlier. So I guess we're getting something for dinner including these vegetables.
Exciting. So we're exploring the village of Sentiap a little bit now. We spend our afternoon
at our guest house. Just chilling. It's a beautiful place. Very serene. Has a nice lush garden. Just
like how I imagined spending a few days on the countryside in Uzbekistan. Trees, a lot of like
their growing vegetables. And we were just having like a nice time in the garden under a tree
reading a little bit. Also super sunny as you can tell. And I forgot my glasses. So
I can't see anything what I'm doing. I hope it's okay the shot. I hope you can see us.
And we're going back up to the viewpoint right now which we passed when we came into town with
our let's call him guide. He was actually our driver. But he turned guide since the actual
guide didn't show up. Which sometimes happens here apparently. The plans change all the time.
Everything is very flexible. Things don't always turn out the way they were supposed to. But we're
used to that. So no problem here. And we get where we're supposed to be. And the places so far on our
little Nuratul trip have been super beautiful. And this village is just like exactly where we
wanted it to be. Also we didn't really need a guide to be honest. The direction we went and the path
we walked to get here is kind of clear. It was quite straightforward. Other than a few few spots where
you have to think where to go next. If they just indicate like two or three places here. You could
do that by yourself in my opinion. True. And here we are at the viewpoint. So I found myself a little bit
out of shadow here. Which is kind of an abandoned house. Or like partially destroyed house here.
Ralf and Rikke is taking some more pictures of the beauty around us here. So tomorrow we are also
going to go on a hike. It's going to be a little bit longer. This one took around one and a half
two hours. If you go like slower. And tomorrow supposedly up to four hours. Which is okay I would
say. We do have other people with us. There's like a Swiss couple who joined us. They were also
at the yurt camp. We saw them at Ruslan's at his guest house. And they're basically doing the same
tour as us. So Ruslan asked if he care if they can join us. Which is no problem for us. And yeah
tomorrow after breakfast we're off again to the next place. Hopefully just as beautiful, pristine
and picturesque indeed as here. Very nice so far. We really like it here. People are very friendly
as well. So we're gonna just wander a little bit more. Then it's almost time for dinner I guess.
And we'll head into our room after that. And just chill for a bit. So yeah see you then.
You're such a pretty face. What is she doing?
So here's usually a river. We were told that in spring when the snow starts to melt from the
mountains. It starts coming down. And this whole yeah where we're standing. This riverbed is fully
filled. But yeah since we're in September it's dry. So we can walk here. Pretty cool.
