For the Giants, their sixth consecutive victory, and all six have been by one run.
First time that has happened for a major league team in 36 years.
A 32-year-old left-hander coming on, not having the kind of year that he would want to have,
1-8 on the record there.
52 strikeouts, just struggling with the consistency.
He's not walking many people, but he's just giving up lots of hits,
and the home run ball has been trouble.
And the game begins with a five-pitch walk to Jung-Hoo Lee.
Willie, a home run yesterday, hit it 439 feet.
Out to straightaway center.
He hits that one out towards left-center field.
Going back on the ball to the wall.
Gone!
Back-to-back games for Willie Adamas.
And this one was even more impressive than the one yesterday.
Oh, my goodness.
He's heating up, folks.
A two-run home run and two batters into the game.
The Giants lead 2-0.
That was pulverized.
Nice way for the Giants to start this game.
Robbie Ray, man, he has been so good this year.
I know this is a tough place to pitch, but the Giants are feeling really good with him on the mound.
They've won 11 of his 13 starts this year.
He's 8-1.
And by the way, the start that he had against the Rockies earlier this season,
he faced one batter over the minimum.
Yeah, seven shutout innings, and no Colorado base runner crossed second base in that start.
Two down very quickly here for Robbie Ray.
He's lined into left-center field.
That'll be a base hit.
Could be extra bases.
Lee cuts it off.
Goodman with his speed is into second with a stand-up double for Hunter.
His 15th two-base hit.
Just continues to rake.
What a bright spot for the Rockies.
Hunter Goodman.
A long battle with Tyro Estrada.
The former Giant.
Swings and grounds one to short.
Two hops right to Adamas.
He'll glove it waist high.
And the throw on to first in time to get Estrada.
And the inning is over.
Lee drew a walk to start the game
and then immediately came in to score on Willie Adamas' two-run home run.
Swings a sharp grounder fair inside of first, down the line, heading into the corner.
And Lee is off to the races, rounding second, on his way to third,
and he's going to make it in standing.
No relay throw even attempted.
Jung-Hoo Lee triples for the second night in a row.
Another opportunity here for Adamas.
He's got four runs batted in already in these two games.
2-0 pitch.
Adamas swings, hits a high fly ball out in the right center.
Not very deep.
Freeman coming in.
He's under it.
He makes the catch.
Here comes Lee.
Here comes the throw.
It is up the line.
Lee gets in standing, and it's another run for the Giants.
Give Willie Adamas yet another RBI.
He's driven in all three tonight, and it's 3-0 Giants.
Trouble here for Robbie Ray.
Giants lead 3-0, but back-to-back hits to start the third,
and now the big hitters lined up for Colorado.
He got it.
High fastball.
He got him to chase even higher.
A big burst out in this bottom of the third.
And now Hunter Goodman, who doubled his first time up.
He's leading nationally catchers in a lot of offensive categories,
home runs, extra base hits, batted in.
And that one's hit the left field.
It's deep.
Ramos going back.
And it is one hop in the wall.
One run is scored.
Beck is going to hold at third base.
Throw comes home, and it's cut off into second base, Hunter Goodman.
Hunter Goodman strikes again.
Rockies on the board.
It's 3-1.
Two A.B.s, two doubles.
I know Hunter thought he got it all,
but again that's one of the deepest parts of the ballpark.
Beck had to hang on long enough so he could only get to third.
Tyra Estrada with runners at second and third.
Swing and a ground ball to second with the infield back.
This will get a run in.
Fitzgerald gloves it, but his throw to first is dropped by Encarnacion.
It rolls into foul territory,
and Goodman will score a second run on the play.
Oh, what a mistake for the Giants.
A routine play, a perfect throw.
First baseman whiffed the ball,
and the Rockies have come back to tie the ball game at three.
Now Keston Hera will come up
and see if he can maybe get this inning going for the Rockies.
And it's hit to left field.
That is going to drop for a base hit.
We'll score another run.
Estrada will get home.
Holding at second base is the next runner.
That's Bretton Doyle, RBI single for Keston Hera.
The Rockies have taken the lead here in the third inning,
four to three, Rockies.
And air continues to hurt the Giants in this bottom of the third.
Well, for Robbie Ray tonight, it was a grind out there.
Ninety-three pitches to get through only four innings.
Now it's in the hands of the bullpen.
Doyle right away after reaching on the base hit
steals his way into scoring position.
Well, Arcia hits it fair inside the first baseline,
and with Doyle's stolen base, he's going to score.
It's an RBI single for Arcia.
It's five to three, Rockies.
Swing, ground ball, back a third.
On a backhand, Schmidt gloves it from foul territory.
A long throw across to first, and he got him.
What a play, Casey Schmidt.
That looked an awful lot like Matt Chapman.
Ritter cruising in the third.
Stand-up triple, his second in his first week in the big leagues.
He's got a five-game hitting streak out of the gate.
Great opportunity for the Rockies to take a three-run lead.
They're up five to three.
And this ball is well hit to left.
This should get the job done.
Ramos is going to air it out.
Ritter is going to score easily.
Head first slide.
It's six to three.
Boy, that's good baseball, Ryan Spielberg.
Giants trailing six to three.
And now it's Jung-Hoo Lee, one on, one out.
Broke it back, come backer, and then it was caught, dropped, picked up,
thrown to first for a double play.
And it was ruled a catch that he had it long enough.
And that is a double play.
That's kind of how this game is going right now for the Giants.
Adrian Johnson and Bob Belvin came out to talk to him in between innings.
The Giants wanted to challenge Adrian Johnson.
The crew chief said no.
It's been a strange night already.
It is a full moon night.
Really, it's the third blue hit of the inning for the Giants, three singles,
and they've loaded the bases for Casey Schmidt.
Pitch number eight upcoming.
Ball four.
Schmidt draws the hit by Casey Schmidt.
It's six to four.
It's as if the Rockies cannot have nice things.
Now you've got the tying run in scoring position.
Mike Yastrzemski's had two big hits in each of the last two Giants games.
Yastrzemski swings, drives one, high and deep, right center, way back.
It's off the top of the wall.
Ramos scores.
Smith around third.
Hills score to tie the game.
And Mike Yastrzemski comes through again.
Go ahead run just 90 feet away and only one out.
And Tyler Fitzgerald coming up next.
Fitzgerald squares the bunt, and he gets it down.
McMahon is coming home the slide.
Got him.
I don't know.
Call on the field is overturned.
The runner is safe.
The Giants take the lead.
It's seven to six.
Here comes the Giants' RBI leader, Wilmer Flores,
with the bases loaded and nobody out.
Flores swings, lifts one out of the shallow right center.
Freeman coming in on the run, reaches down, makes the catch.
Tagging goal at third lead on his way home, and he'll score without a throw.
We'll give Wilmer another RBI.
Giants get an insurance run.
It's eight to six with two outs now.
Here is Casey Schmidt.
A couple nights for Casey.
Last night with his first home run of the year.
Tonight, the walk that was just a huge play in this game.
Schmidt lines one into left field.
A base hit.
Here comes Adamas rounding third.
Beck upthrowing.
It is too late.
Adamas in with a slide.
Casey Schmidt with his second hit and second RBI of the night.
And now it's nine to six, Giants.
This is where you want to spoil the closer here.
You want to go ahead and bring them in in a non-safe situation.
Bounces one right side, and that's through into right center.
Here comes Ramos around third, and he'll score without a throw.
Another RBI for Yastrzemski, the Giants' tenth run of the night.
It may not technically be a safe situation.
Don't tell that to the Giants manager.
He's using the closer.
No doubt.
Well, you got him hot.
He's going to sit tomorrow once you've done this, so he's nice and warm.
Use it.
And he gets two outs on one pitch, and the Giants are now an out away.
Hunter Goodman, pair of doubles.
A 1-0 is well hit to left.
Going back, Ramos, and it is gone.
Hunter Goodman continues to be outstanding for the Rockies.
He makes it a 10-7 game in favor of the Giants.
That's what you want to see.
Team not quitting.
They haven't done that all year.
They've beaten a bunch, as we know, but they haven't quit late in the ballgame.
And after the Giants have scored seven times in the last two innings,
the Rockies, again, trying to come off the deck.
They'll get the tying run to the plate with two outs here in the ninth.
Count is full.
Runners will get a head start.
A little dribbler.
Camillo is going to make the play himself for the final out.
Never easy here in Denver, but the Giants get it done,
and they win another one.
This time not a one-run game, although it did feel like it in the ninth inning.
Giants' seventh straight victory.
They beat the Rockies 10-7.
