Nobody has real friends anymore.
So, last week I was in central London, I was seeing this girl and usually when I'm speaking
to a new individual, I like to observe the situation.
I like to get a better sense of who I'm speaking with, what their background is.
I can't understand why this person thinks in this specific way.
And it was quite an interesting conversation and not particularly because she was very
interesting, but more because I'm starting to see a pattern.
I'm starting to see that a lot of people actually don't have real friends.
And the craziest part is, they don't even see it themselves.
But time will tell.
Time will show you who are the real ones that will stick around and who are the ones that
will leave you behind.
And as I've matured as a man, as I've been through friendships, as I've seen friends
come and go, as I've seen people betray me, betray close people around me, or even heard
stories of people betraying other people, you start to get this sick sense of understanding
who's real and who's not.
It's almost like energy.
You can just sense it.
If you've been through it enough, if you have enough experience, you can quickly identify
what kind of person you're speaking to.
But coming back to this specific individual that I met, she told me, yeah, I just met
three friends yesterday.
And what she meant by this is that she just made three friends yesterday.
I looked at her, I was like, are you sure about that?
Are you not sure that these are just acquaintances, people that perhaps were just nice to you,
or people that could potentially be friends if you dedicate enough time and energy to
them?
She's like, no, I just made three friends yesterday.
So in my mind, I'm instantly like, hmm, interesting.
So if you've made three friends yesterday, what kind of value will I have when it comes
to being a part of your life?
These are important questions you need to ask.
A lot of times people overlook the simple nuances of social interaction, the simple
nuances of someone's background, the simple nuances of how a specific person thinks.
And I want you to understand that everyone is allowed to have their own opinion.
She can feel that these are genuine friends, but as a rational man, I analyze the situation
from a very different perspective.
I looked at it from the perspective of these people won't be there for you when you need
them the most.
These people won't be there for you as a brother or a sister.
They won't be a ride or die.
So if they won't stick around for the bad times, why would you want them in the good
times?
And a lot of people tend to overlook this point, but once life hits you, you'll truly
understand how important brotherhood is, how important real friends are, how important
family can be, how important real connection with the right woman can be.
Because everyone can be your friend when life is good.
Everyone can be your friend just for the comfort or convenience, but who will stick around
when things get hard?
And a lot of times the best way to find out is by either letting life hit you and you'll
quickly find out who's there for you when life gets hard or you do something that I
like to call a stress test.
A stress test is basically you throw something at them, not literally, but you throw a certain
situation at them and you look at their response.
It doesn't have to be something crazy dramatic.
You just want to test whether they would help you in case you would end up in a situation
like that.
And this is something a lot of people don't do.
This is the best way in every single social interaction to find out who's a real one,
who's gonna stick around, who will be your real friend, whether you can even trust family
members, whether you can trust your own brothers, your sisters, your best friends, an acquaintance.
Because it's very interesting.
Once you start to do this, you'll quickly find out that you were wrong.
The smartest person is still wrong when it comes to personal connections because it's
such a complicated topic.
We all have emotional attachments and we don't think rationally when it comes to ourselves.
It's very easy to give advice to someone else, but it's very hard to give advice to
yourself.
And the reason for this is that we as humans have a personal bond with other individuals
so it becomes so much harder to look at your own situation from a rational perspective.
And that's why the best thing you can do is have a stress test.
Stress test every ************ in your group.
It don't matter how loyal he is, how long you've known him for.
You must stress test people because if you are someone that wants to excel in life, if
you are someone that wants to build your own empire, you want to reach more out of life.
It's very important to understand that you don't have any snakes around you because snakes
can really detriment you in the long term.
A good foundation is so important.
You can't expect to reach the top without a good foundation because if you do reach
the top, whether it's by luck, whether you actually put in the work and magically made
it happen, the foundation will fall.
These rats will lurk.
They'll come out of the grass and they'll come looking for you.
And that's why it's so important to find out who is your real friend.
We live in a generation where we can have more friends than ever.
We're so much more connected to the whole world than ever before.
You don't need to have your friend, your neighbor doesn't have to be your friend, your best
friend from high school doesn't have to be your friend.
Your friend can literally be someone all across the world, someone that would do anything
and everything just to make your life easier, just to show you how dedicated he or she is
to you, just to show their loyalty, just to show their friendship.
And this is something that a lot of people just don't look at.
It's very important to analyze yourself from a very rational perspective.
Ask yourself this question, who are my friends right now?
If I would stick with them in the next five years, where would they be?
I'm not telling you to ditch all of your friends, but just critically analyze every single one
of them.
Is that someone I aspire to be?
Am I okay with keeping them in my life?
Do I feel like they will destroy my life when they stick around?
These are important questions you need to ask yourself.
Because if you don't ask yourself these questions, what will happen is you'll stick around with
the same group of friends and you'll call yourself loyal, you'll call yourself respected
and you'll say, yeah, we'll never ditch each other.
But the reality is, you have ditched your dreams.
You want to achieve more out of life.
That's the reason you're listening to me right now.
But you also want to reach it with a real brotherhood, with the real friends.
And a lot of times, the friends you have right now, 99% of the time, they probably won't
stick around, or at least not most of them.
And that's why it's very important for you to critically analyze whether these are real
friends.
Because there's a lot of snakes in this world, but once you find your real friends, your
real brotherhood, I promise, life will get a lot easier.
