Every spring, the tulip beds planted and cared for by the National Capital Commission (NCC) set the scene for the Canadian Tulip Festival. The NCC, as the official gardener of Canada’s capital city, supports and hosts the colourful celebration.

This year, the festival ran from May 9 to 19 at Commissioners Park in Ottawa, near the scenic Dow’s Lake. The park features winding paths, mature trees, and stunning views of the waterfront.

The Canadian Tulip Festival was established to celebrate the gift of tulips from the Dutch royal family to Canada immediately following World War II as a symbol of international friendship.
