In this first episode of The Library Files, State Library Victoria conservator Katy Glen takes us through the process of conserving a badly damaged charcoal and pastel portrait. This beautiful work depicts William Montgomery, and is estimated to have been created in around 1886 by artist Arthur Wasse.
