Braves vs. Giants Game Highlights (6/8/25) | MLB Highlights

Pitcher for the Giants is right hander Landon Rupp having an excellent year overall three and four but with a three one eight earned run average this will be his 13th start of the season. And there's ball for miss with a curveball there. And that shows you look he didn't hit his spot with a curveball. That's the first batter of the game three one pitch. The Giants are surging. They have won four games in a row trying to make it five in a row. Riley out to left center. Good start here for the Braves. Acuna is going to turn it head for third. He will cruise in there. That'll put runners at the corners and then shows you how strong Riley is. Snapped his bat and that thing went all the way out in the left center field. Now here is Olsen the Giants infield will exchange a run to get a double play here. Bouncer to first and now Acuna will come home. I think they could have had Acuna in a rundown. But the first baseman Dom Smith looked that way and went to second. The Braves will take it. It's one to nothing. The forces in the game. There's a little dribbler back toward the mound coming down toward the plate to field it is Root and he throws out Ozuna at first as a comebacker past Root up the middle but fielded behind second by Schmidt the shortstop who is well over in that direction and he throws out Harris to end the inning one nothing Braves into the bottom of the first inning. Spencer Strider on the mound and the second pitch also at ninety five to the left side of the infield and Allen calls off Riley. He goes to the slider there takes care of Ramos and Strider so far looking good and motivated. One two to Flores. Check swing they appeal Adios it's a strikeout nonetheless and a good start for Strider one nothing Braves Spencer Strider had a three up three down inning in the first inning now facing Matt Chapman to lead it off at the bottom of the second to two pitch swing wide right down the right field line that one hop into the first archway by the three oh nine marker the Karim is played by Acuna. The second is just a bit too late. Chapman slides in safely with a double hit that ball so hard and it came out hard Karim right to Acuna off that three oh nine marker. Now he throws low and outside with a slider and he walks in kicks and fires got him that time a nasty slider Mike Yastrzemski the batter left handed hitter. So now runners at second and third two runners in scoring position as a swing and a high fly ball out in the medium right center field. This should get the run home Harris over to make the catch tagging is Chapman and he'll score. Giants have tied the game and he as does well knocks in that run to to paint it on the outside corner and Fitzgerald down looking it is one to one. Now the Giants and Braves as we start the third inning oh one pitch struck hard in the right field that ladders down for a knock lead off single for Allen got a sinker he could put the barrel on and he's a board group falls behind three and O Reilly cranks it down the line that is going to one hop the wall Allen heads for third and Reilly in the second and it's a double by Reilly to put runners at second and third with one out game tied at one here in the third inning. Matt Olson can change that Matt Olson deep right center off the brick. Look at that kick. Fun bounce all the way over to Johnson and center to RBI double for Matt Olson. He smoked that three oh offering from Landon Rue. Well that shows you what I know Ben at three count three change ups in a row and then he just lays a cookie fastball right in the middle. He's lucky that didn't leave the yard is called strike three. He went with the sinker and he got it. A one pitch is pulled on the ground one hop to first Smith has it. He's going to race to the bag and actually slide to reach out with his glove and touch first base that retires inside Braves three Giants one into the bottom of the fourth inning. Spencer Strider back to work three to Flores takes way inside ball for it's a lead off walk. Wilmer Flores is a board Strider come set he throws and he misses ball for fastball outside Chapman draws the walk back to back walks. There's Dominic Smith left handed hitter two balls two strikes right center Acuna in diving. He got it. Excellent play by Ronald Acuna Junior. Good read by Ronald able to break to his right angling towards center field and laid out. And really since he's come back there and that's the biggest test he's given his body defensively. Yastrzemski a sacrifice fly in the second Yastrzemski pulls it down the right field line. That is a fair ball into the corner. There it is. Flores scores Chapman right behind him in the second with a double Mike Yastrzemski and he's tied the game. And that fits the Braves luck here lately. Not much going right for the Braves here recently. And now here's Tyler Fitzgerald the one one Fitzgerald ground ball right side over to his left Albies. It kicks up his glove and rolls away. Yastrzemski is going to turn third and come all the way in to score. It is an error on Ozzie. No RBI left field Eli White. He didn't even have to move but a big inning for San Francisco to take the lead. Giants will come up here on the bottom of the six. Spencer Strider still in the game. Here's the two pitch Smith of the ground ball to second Ozzie to his left gloves in shallow right side arms over the first base and one down one to Casey Schmidt. The ground ball out to say shortstop Allen's up with it is though it crosses in time Strider. This will be his 90th pitch. And that should be all he needs to get through the sixth inning. Eli White comes in to grab it a nice tiny one two three six for Spencer and a number seven four to three Giants Ryan Walker in the pitch one two driven to left field moving over his Ramos and he will make a catch. Elliott did not take the perfect route to that ball wasn't hit hard enough for Verdugo to get the benefit of Elliott's initial break which wasn't perfect. One one to Allen in tight got him in the hand and he's going to take first base to pitch is called strike three. Acuna watched another one go by Riley strikes out swinging on the slider that ends up being a really nice inning for Ryan Walker. Thirty four year old right hander Rafael Monteiro Monteiro has worked 22 times this season pitching twenty one innings five point one for ERA. We tune a ground ball hit sharply out to short clubbed on the third by Allen and his throw crosses in time for the first out. And it's due to the plate slapped out the first taken on a couple of hops by Matt Olsen unassisted put out by Matt. He puts his right foot on the bag and two down three to got him catches the breeze swinging and missing in that splitter and a good inning for Monteiro with a one two three bottom of the seventh. The twenty nine year old right hander and Yodelo Santos he has pitched twenty six times with a two nine three era opponents hitting a paltry one ninety off him. Last appearance was a great one two innings pitch one strikeout no run one on a ground ball to third charging and scooping Riley. That was very well done by Austin sends it across for the out and one down. The only bad news about that no winner in the Yanmar strikeout the side inning to pitch and a fly ball to center Ronald over to his right. Michael Harris coming in and Michael Harris makes a chest high catch with two hands to down to the eighth inning. Here's a two one to Chapman. Look at five. Dylan Dodd a lefty comes in to face the left handed Dominic Smith Chapman starts away from first and now the pickoff throw and he's out trying to dive back to the bag. He might have hurt himself. He is hurting still down on his hands and knees. He rolls over. He rolled it. So the fingers bent back. I mean he's boot camp tough though. I mean well Matt Chapman is staying in the game defensively at third base Camilo Duvall will take over on the mound. James trying to finish off a win but their lead is just one for three ninth inning one to pitch on the way to Ozzie and a swing and lift one towards right center field a trio of Giants trying to get there. That'll land amongst the three of them. The slide step the pitch straight three on the outside corner and he got the wide strike on that slider and Verdugo is really unhappy. Got him. And that's the ball game and the Giants sweep the Atlanta Braves. And another one run game.
