In the around half a month of me doing these poetry analysis videos of Tang dynasty poems, you might have recognized that there are a LOT of poems on the themes of tragedy, longing, sorrow, and subjects of this nature. Of course this is not what the majority of Tang Dynasty poems are, and maybe I will talk about some of the more optimistic poems in the near future, they are the most famous from the Tang canon.

Today, we will proceed with another, the “Painting of Jinling” by poet Wei Zhuang, who speaks on the sadness of watching your society and nation collapse, as it did during the end of the Tang Dynasty.
