Skewering a balloon that will seal itself... Good STEM activity

A new twist to the classic demonstration of skewering, a balloon with a bamboo skewer. This activity has been. a favorite in the classroom for years and years, and there are 100's of videos on this topic, but what happens to the balloon once the skewer is pulled out? The balloon deflates in a minute or two or sooner if the demonstrator pops it. In my science classroom, we did a short investigation to see if there's any way of resealing the balloon instead of letting it deflate. My students came up with a number of suggestions, some of which were successful.
