Let's take a live look over Fenway Park
where you can see those massive cranes
hovering over the ballpark where
multiple concerts were set to happen.
Those performances canled because of
stage issues. Boston 25 News reporter
April Baker live at Fenway Park. And
April, things are quiet there and they
will stay quiet tonight.
Yes, Ray. And the quiet is coming from
disappointment. And of course, we're not
talking about the Red Sox and how
they've been playing. We're talking
about the ballpark cancelling Shakira's
concert last night and Jason Aldines
tonight. Let me show you. You mentioned
the stage coming down. You can see that
big equipment in the distance. That
yellow massive heavy duty equipment
taking it down as we speak. Fenway Park
announced yesterday evening that both
performances were cancelled because of
unforeseen circumstances. Jason Aldine
shared the news on his social media
pages. Sources tell Boston Basa 25 News
that it was a stage production issue. In
a statement to us, Live Nation says,
quote, "During a routine pre-show check,
structural elements were identified as
not being up to standard, so the shows
were cancelled. All team members are
safe." Shakira's Thursday performance
was a rescheduled show from her North
American tour last year. One fan
explains the experience she missed. Last
night I got an email where they invited
me to go with Camina with Laova. So it's
like you go out with with Shakira in the
beginning of the concert and you go out
with her and you wear these cool suits
and then it's it's not happening
anymore. Back out here at Fenway Park.
They say people who bought the concert
tickets will get full refunds. No word
yet on if Shakira or Jason Aldine will
be performing in the Boston area in the
near future. Live in Boston, I'm April
Baker for your local station, Boston 25
News.
