We installed a Reolink Doorbell camera in a birdhouse this spring and have new tenants moving in and building a nest. Our Reolink security cameras also caught Tucker the sheep, playing with a wild rabbit that got into his area. Our plans are moving forward to expand the garden once the pool has been removed from the back of the house. We have some animals coming into the farm that we are excited about, stay tuned... and don't forget to subscribe! #farmvlog#reolinkcaptures#farmanimals

Mark here and welcome to the 10acre
woods. Uh that is the rabbit that we've
been trying to capture for the last uh
two weeks now. I think it was we're
calling it well Houdini's son I guess.
Guess we're going over this way. So, we
are going to uh feed the ponies this
morning. Marlene's coming with her
veggie treats for the animals. I have to
grab my wagon. And Terra has to grab her
wagon. So, uh while she's doing that Oh,
bird. Okay. So, I just scared her out.
And what it is is we have had a visitor
to our tree. So, I got a notification
yesterday
and there was a uh there was action uh
happening and we had a bird. It looks
like a tree uh tree swallow. Uh my
understanding is the barn swallow has a
forked tail and the and the tree swallow
does not. So, it has all the markings
and everything. Uh she was bringing in
all of her uh nesting material. And
today I set up a camera to get an
outside shot to see what was happening
and I found her coming in uh bringing
her nesting material. And then another
bird came. So I'm assuming that is the
male and he's just kind of checking in
to see what is uh what's going on and
you know doing a final inspection of the
home. I'm not quite sure. All right.
Here's Terra here. And I don't know if
you can see, there's a haze. So, we've
still got some smoke that is coming in
from the north.
So, Oh, yeah. Locked up. Yeah, it's
coming in from the north uh the
northeast of our location up in the uh
the cottage country area. So, we're
still dealing with that. So, something
happened last night that was um pretty
funny. We were watching uh a movie and
Tiana I don't know she just caught
something outside and she's what is
Tucker doing? So what had happened was
there was a wild rabbit that got in to
Tucker's pen here. Tucker. Well, now
your mouth's
full. Oh, there's the rest of the crew.
Uh, so there was a rabbit that um that
got into this pen and started running
around. I don't know if the rabbit was
having a good time, but Tucker sure was.
So, he was chasing the rabbit around,
bouncing, and the other two were just
kind of watching. And Onyx as well,
wherever she is, it looks like she's
inside, but they were just watching and
going, "What the heck is going on here?
What are you doing?" So, here is the
clip from last
[Music]
night.
Heat.
Heat.
Heat. Heat.
[Music]
They they all had their feet done
yesterday. Oh, right. Yes, we had the
fer out. I
proudly adjusted my
energy and caught Ash as not caught her
nicely harnessed her up cuz we've
probably said it before, but when Tara
goes out there when I go out there, I
have that I'm going to get
you because I got things to do. So, I go
out with a higher energy and I can't
catch Astrid. And usually meadows tricky
for me because she knows and uh
yesterday Tiana was at
work. So I didn't have a choice. So I
came Tiana's best advice was release all
the energy before you go in. So
I and uh I caught her pretty easy. I was
like all right. She I have a puck full
of treats but you know Yeah. You've been
working on her over the last couple
weeks giving her treats. Yeah. So, but
uh we were looking out here this morning
and um Levi and Meadow were standing
there and Astrid was just kind of lying
relaxing and it just seemed so peaceful
and they have uh cemented dog barking.
Yeah. Cemented the herd. Yeah. Toby's uh
It's cuz Charlie Well, it's cuz
Charlie's out now. So, Charlie wandered
out.
Charlie, he heard us and he's like,
"Okay, he's going to come over." And of
course, Toby, as soon as he sees
Charlie, he just runs back and forth and
he's like, "I'm going to get
you. Back
up. Away from the gate."
Yeah. Come on back, Charlie. Yeah. Yeah,
I know. Don't whine about it, but
Terra's got to get in with the wagon.
Oh, Charlie. He's like, "Okay, fine.
There. Now what?"
I'm just trying to get you out of the
way to bring the food in. Toby,
no. It's annoying. Yeah, it's annoying.
Toby, has anybody ever told you that?
Yes, we have many times.
All right, there we go. Last night with
the Tucker bouncing around. Yeah, I
showed that. So, it was uh was pretty
hilarious. And I went back on the the
camera I have sitting right over there
that happens to be facing out here cuz I
sometimes move it around. Hi, Charlie.
So, it was uh it was perfect.
Look at this. A smorggas. What is he?
Yeah, he's Yeah, I know.
He's like, "Come on, mom. Give me the
food." No, he want rub right now. He
doesn't know what he wants. Give me
grain.
Yeah.
Yeah. And then Tucker actually went up
on here. So, this is primarily the goats
use it, but uh Tucker was up here last
night. So, he was full of
something. Full of energy.
Something.
Hi, Shimmer. Holly. Where's your kids?
She's like somewhere. Yeah.
Says I'm eating. They obviously don't
need anything. Patunia's got her kids
here.
Hi, kids.
How we doing this morning? You guys run
around and play from time to time, too.
Look at those little
horns. The little boys got these little
nubs just kind of sticking
out. So, the
girl, not quite yet. We don't dehorn our
goats. Uh there's been a lot of uh talk
about that. It's one of those subjects
that come up and and people are like,
"You should and you shouldn't." And we
don't do it because number one, they're
great handles. So, if you're ever going
to be working with the animal, they're a
great handle. Uh our animals are
friendly. Maybe if you have goats that
you're raising for for meat and aren't
handled very much, then that can be an
issue. Um, but then again, if you're in
that situation, you don't necessarily
have little kids around them. The the
big thing I hear is safety. So, people
are talking about safety. They they want
to make sure that, you know, they're not
going to injure their children or them
or possibly each other, but we've never
had any issues with that. They also work
as a heat sink because they go down into
the skull and they will radiate some
heat um cooling cooling their brain
cavity down in uh in hotter weather.
Now, if you burn them off when they're
young, you can get what's called scurs,
which is if you don't get all of them,
especially with the boys, cuz as you can
see, his are coming in sooner than hers.
And usually the males have a wider base
on them. So sometimes when burning them,
you don't get all of it. And then what
happens is they get these scurs where it
actually comes out and can grow all
wonky and actually curl around and grow
into the head. So there's just so many
problems. We've been doing this for over
two decades. We've never had
to remove or dehorn them. And it's just
not something we do. We're used to it
this way. Um, they use them for
scratching. The only time we've ever had
a head butter was that little uh ram
lamb. And of course, you can't stop them
because you can't grab onto them. Well,
yeah, but lambs had no horns. Lambs,
it's their head that's just solid. But
had he had horns, you could have held
the horn. You could have held the horn.
Yeah. But without horns, you can't you
can't hold you can't and you can't teach
them respect. Like with Billy and Carl,
right? Like when they get carried away,
you take their horns, you pin them to
the ground. Now that's enough. Yeah.
Right. And then they would stop. So in
the beginning, like when you get around,
it's a teaching tool because they have
you gain respect when you know how to
deal with the horns. Well, and also with
Carl, he would play around it, but he
would never actually hit you. He would
just kind of rear up and he would be
more playful. And we've never had any
like we're we're open to the public. Uh
you know weekends during the summer we
we have people around and and we've
never had an issue. Sheldon's the only
one because he squirrels. Well yeah he
kind of he turns his head quickly so if
there's a child don't bounce around. He
can knock somebody over. We always give
the warning that this is his head space.
Yeah. Stay out of his head space because
he turns quickly. Right. Yeah. But it's
not a a head but also when he's not
listening and he's being a little
Sheldon.
Yeah. You can grab a hold of him. Not
the tip, but the base. Yeah. Yeah. All
right. Here's one of Holly's kids. So
this is the This is the runt. This is
the Kata. Yeah. This is the girl. Yeah.
Uh so names. So I haven't talked about
names. Yeah. Oh, she's good weight. So
Katya Katy over here. Come over here in
the sun so we can actually see you. This
is You haven't talked about names at
all. No, I haven't. Okay. So this is
Katya. Katya. Katya. K. K. Katya. And
her brother is Liam. Liam, which is over
there. They were named after
uh a
transgender a boy named Liam who
transgendered into Katya.
So their m their mom was here visiting
and uh unfortunately Katya took her own
life uh as a
transgender woman and so we renamed
Katya and Liam after Liam who
transgendered to Katya. I hope that all
made sense and flowed easy. Yeah, sounds
good. So they are in memory Yeah. of uh
Katya. Yeah. And this person has been
following us for many years. She's been
out on the far farm a few times and she
came out uh just a few weeks back. Yeah.
Yeah. So just to share and get some
peace and so Liam and Katya. Liam and
Katya. And Katya was the runt that was
had a very difficult time. She had a
very weird heart uh beat. And uh we were
a little worried about her, which is why
we named her Katya in case we lost
Katya. Liam would be there and there'd
always be a you know a soul kind of
association. Yeah. Yeah. Association.
But Katya is doing great. Hey. And she's
a snuggler. Was that Sheldon? She's a
snuggler. Charlie, are you waiting for
What's that on your nose? You've got a
feather on your nose.
Uh Charlie. Yes.
All right. Good. Okay. I see that
Marlene has now arrived. Arrived. Okay.
I'll take it away. So, let's go. Uh,
let's go do some treats.
All right. Throw it over to distract
them. Are you going in, Marlene? No,
you're just going to throw him over.
Yeah. Stay away from Turbo. That might
be that might be a good uh a good idea.
Turbo's already bruised me last week.
Trying to get someone there to pick her.
Yeah, she saers.
Oh, apples for the pigs. Yep.
Yeah. So, the sun sun shade sale. So,
that's going to be uh nice today. Well,
in the next few days, all weekend. So,
it's uh positioned in such a way that
we're getting the current shade over
here, but as the sun transitions over,
uh it's going to be a nice shady area.
So, that tree there that's lasted years
is pretty much done now. I don't think
it's coming back. So, we'll have to cut
that down. Currently, it's holding up
one of the points of the uh sun shade.
You have to show them my I I finished
cleaning out the outside of the rabbit
hole. Oh, yeah. Actually, I haven't seen
that cuz you did that during the week.
Yeah.
Okay. Terra's got the
grains. Oh, Charlie's picking up picking
up what he can.
I think Sheldon just runs through it
like a kid in a sprinkler. I know. It's
like look at this cuz he doesn't he
doesn't really do much other than just
run around. Difference, Sheldon. Yeah.
No, it looks like he's filling out
nicely. Sheldon. So, onyx. Yes, I will
get yours. Charlie. Sheldon. Yeah, he's
not paying attention. Marlene's over
with the tree. He loves this tree.
But now he's only doing he's doing his
own thing, right, Tucker? No, he doesn't
see the leaves. Not yet. No, he
Sheldon's got too much going on.
Sheldon.
Sheldon.
Sheldon, come get some lead. Oh, there
we go. Now he Now he sees Oh, he
doesn't. I thought Yeah. Okay. He does.
He does. He just squirreled there for a
minute.
Oh
boy. No. That's
He's got other things to do. He's going
around. That was good.
Did you get some leaves?
He's too excited. Yeah. Yeah. No, too
excited.
[Music]
There you go. Oh, yeah. That's it. He'll
eat it. That's it. It's empty now. Oh,
here comes the No. No. Sit. Sit your
bum. Sit your bum. Good boy. Wait.
No. Here it comes. The apples. He's
like, "Hey, I sat down.
Uh oh. Where's Sheldon?
Sheldon. Sheldon. Oh, these are the
treats.
Sorry. The the food. The food. Sheldon.
Sheldon, come over here. Come,
Sheldon. Oh,
squirrel. He's like, I'm busy. Mom,
[Music]
right here.
Mama. Mama.
Mama. Mama.
Mama. I know, but you just took too long
cuz now everybody's here. Yeah.
On side.
Oh jeez.
Nope.
Come here, Tucker. Tucker, come
here. Oh, he's Tucker's coming around
that side.
Okay. It usually goes a lot smoother
than this. Yeah. Well, there's just so
much. Here's more. So much excitement.
[Music]
So, all he's
getting that was just Yeah. We went over
this last week and you're giving alalfa
pellets. Yeah. Like a rabbit. Rabbit
food essentially. And grain. He likes
it. Yeah, but he doesn't get grain
because he's a boy goat. Oh, right. Um,
so then you don't want them to have too
much uh grains. Yeah. So grain you can
get uh stones, urinary stones. Stones.
So too many grains uh you can develop
urinary. Yeah. Yeah.
But he's filling out nicely with just
the extra. And of course Onyx again. So
did which you can't see, but she was
thin as well. So, she's on. Yeah, we'll
see a little bit more in a couple weeks
when we haven't heard back from the uh
the date yet. The trimmer, have we? No.
The sheerer.
No, it's empty. Yeah. So, once we have
the date, she got kind of does uh
scheduling where she does farms in
certain areas. So, she's got an idea,
but she doesn't have any kind of exact
date. It also depends on her home farm
and lamming. Yes. Yeah. Exactly. Right.
So you you don't like and I get it cuz
she's coming far enough that she stays
away from home to do us. She's not at
home. So her lamming has to be done
before. And of course that's always a
Yeah. You never know a window. So yeah.
Hi. Okay. Treats were inside. We've got
the uh the melons going to the chickens.
Now something interesting. Last weekend
we we showed you this rabbit. So a
continental giant rabbit 9 weeks old.
Well, I guess 10 weeks old now. But um
we said huckleberry or strawberry. We
said strawberry and then we found out it
was actually
huckleberry, but u you guys called him
berry,
which it works. It works for sure. So
yeah, huckleberry, also known as berry.
Uh so he's doing good. He's very
quisitive. I've been coming in and um
petting him. You know, you want to try
to keep that interaction uh for the
imprintings because he's going to be a
big rabbit. He's going to be he's going
to be a hit. We're going to eventually
put him
outside. Um but um we're waiting on that
for now. Now, our little Houdini black
intact female, we've moved her back into
this area here. She was in a smaller
cage. Uh we did um rehome the other
rabbits, the mother and father from the
litter. Of course, we've still got that
rabbit running around outside. So, if we
do catch that little rabbit, hopefully
we can catch it at one point. Uh that
one will go over and join the other
ones. Uh, and then we've got these two
here, which these ones I think uh
they're also going to go outside because
this is a fixed female. Uh, and I think
a fixed male, right?
Pete and Beverly. Yeah, Pete's fixed.
Yeah. Um, so that is that. And then
we've got what's the duck's name? I keep
forgetting. Prince. Prince. Right. So,
Prince, he's going to go outside as
well. He is a call duck.
He's been just kind of hanging out here
with everybody. Uh, and then this area
is all cleared out. This is where the
little rabbits were, uh,
previously. Uh, and then Penny in the
back, of course, I showed you her and
her little ones,
uh, which are starting to get a little
bit larger, so just
getting they're just getting some
[Laughter]
blueberries. What are you guys looking
for?
Did you get your treats?
Okay, the rabbit area. So, Terra was out
here and did some
cleaning during the week. Look at
that. It is cleared all out. The
shelters are all So, we're going to put
the rabbits back out in these areas.
We've got the We'll see. Yeah, the male
and the female runs wall. That far wall
still has to come down so there's air
flow through. Yes, the uh the poly on
there. So, cuz it can get quite hot in
the uh in the summertime. We did put of
course the metal on the roof here last
year. The uh so we still have to we
still have to clear out uh those areas
in there. But this is a good a good head
start. Yeah. Well, cuz there's some
trees that have to come down here. If
I'm putting the Avery in here.
I want these big guys. That big one for
sure cuz that could actually crush a
building. Yeah, that's a massive Yeah,
that's a massive tree. That one right
there. The ones that are close need to
come down.
Yeah. So, we're uh Look at Oh my gosh,
look at the plums over here. We've still
got the plan to uh move the building,
the old greenhouse, which we'll go over
and check out in a minute. Uh move it
over into this area. These are
Saskatoon. Saskatoon. Yeah. All the
flowers are coming out with the uh the
wild plums in Saskatoon and and all of
that. So
yeah. So it's now Sunday morning, a
beautiful Sunday morning. No wind. Uh
very little smoke, so that's good. Uh
yesterday was quite busy. We had our
open farm and then we had goat yoga. So
we had about 23 25 people show up for
goat yoga. Uh everybody had a good time.
spent an hour with the animals doing a
little bit of yoga, doing a little bit
of petting of the animals. Usually the
yoga lasts a little bit at the beginning
and then you see a bunch of people just
sitting on their on their mats petting.
So, it was a good evening. Wonderful
evening for that. Then they uh got to go
out and check out all the animals here
on the farm. Uh and we are now in the
garden today. So, we're going to give an
update on the garden. Uh there's been a
lot going on here. Terra's been planting
a few things out here as well. And of
course, we are removing the pool that
hasn't been used really in a few years
since the kids have gotten a little bit
older. Past few years, I've been going
in and just basically cleaning the pool.
Uh Terra says she's going to start her
gardening videos, so we'll have to wait
for that. So, here is what is left and
what we have to do. So, of course, the
deck went all the way out. And then, of
course, uh the pool was in the center of
it. So, here we go. We've got it
dismantled. Uh this is going to be the
new edge. And then once we pull this
out, we're going to run the deck
straight across here. Uh maybe have some
steps that come down. And then this will
be some garden area. Uh that over there
was the old greenhouse that Terra just
really didn't use that much. uh her
plans were to to start growing, you
know, early spring, but uh she decided
that she's just going to wait until this
time of year after May long weekend and
then just plant regularly as uh as she
did in the rest of the garden. I ordered
soil from a young guy 12 years old or 12
I think he's 12 uh who was selling soil
which I love entrepreneurs so imported
that and then uh saw the
marshmallow the cone flour and then this
is all catnip we seeded that last year
so these are all catnip you can see the
little catnips coming up
and uh get them well when you have nine
black cats you need the nip oh look
there's something special in there. It
looks like a cucumber or something or
pumpkin or something. It's probably a
chipmunk. Yeah, chipmunk puts something.
Then we have our
echanas which are really good for the
animals. So I have four different
varieties of echania
uh that I harvest and use as medicine.
Right. Uh this is all carrots. So that's
all seated uh that was seated last year.
So look, there's the carrots coming up.
Oh, that was last year. Catnip. Did you
do some this year? I did extras, but
this was all seated last year. Oh, okay.
And from I left a couple to let go to
seed, right? Okay. And then seeded it.
And then uh uh rhubarb, of course,
oregano's huge. And the hascaps should
be it was all flower. Yeah. So, it's all
started. Yeah. So, there was tons of
flowers on there. Yeah. So, those are
those are a really nice treat. Honey
berry hascap. It's like a uh really
strong blueberry. Yeah, really strong.
Sour blueberry. Well, it depends on when
you harvest it. They're really good. The
asparagus is massive. Yeah, we've been
uh we've been feasting on the asparagus.
It doesn't Oh, all spring. Yeah. It
doesn't It doesn't get to the house.
Yeah. Between us and the rabbits. Yeah.
Which one? And it's taken a few years.
That's for snacking. Thank you. Right.
Look at the size of that thing. I know.
Yeah. And this is this has been what
we've been getting out of the garden
regularly this time. Daily asparagus.
Yeah. Yeah. Uh this side's kind of this
is all the flowers from last year.
Sorry, I squirreled. I'm waiting for
grapes to come back here. Yeah, these
trees we got to get in the ground. We
were going to get them in the ground
last year. Yeah, there's a few more of
the willow. We've got to get them.
They're in the ground. Get them. Yeah.
Yeah, I know. Oh, I think I checked them
last year when I took that last willow
out and it's rooted into the ground
already. Oh, look. We got some bearded
irises or the irises blooming. Different
colors of those raspberries. No, they
didn't do
uh what was that? Five years, I think.
Yeah, they're starting to get a little
They're jumping. So, I'm going to let
them go here. Oh, yeah.
Which this should grow up
nicely. And then uh wait for my colored
irises to see what Yeah. Terra didn't do
much with the garden last year, so it it
looks a little Well, it's just weeding,
but it's getting there. We knew change
was coming, right? Yeah. So, this
building here, this is the old
greenhouse. So, we're going to uh it's
all disassembled. It's just in pieces
now. So, now we just have to get it over
there and then we'll move it over to the
animal area. So, it was about 10 years
ago that I had a rhubarb plant go to
seed and I've supplied anybody who wants
rhubarb with rhubarb plants and I seed
them and seeds and there were giveaways
and blah blah blah. I ran
out. The year I run out, it goes to
flower. Yeah. So, that's going to grow
up into a large stock. Yeah. And we have
enough rhubarb that we can let that grow
up and then I'll harvest and then share
more rhubarb. Okay. Well, that's it for
this video. Um, the extra footage that I
had of the Real Link cameras, uh, I
thought I would just mention that we are
an affiliate. If you are interested in
Real Link security cameras or security
cameras in general, uh, check out the
link. I'll put it in the description.
Uh, any purchases there does come back
and help us here on the farm. And, uh,
until next video, have a wonderful week
and enjoy the sun if it is sunny in your
area. And we hope to see you next week.
Take care. Bye.
