In April, Kangwon National University South Korea approved the two performances of the 7th of May at the university's art center.
But the decision was later withdrawn after the Chinese embassy's press release.
The university pointed to concerns about possible protests from Chinese students.
On April 30, a district court ruled that the decision to postpone the performance was an abuse of power and called it illegal.
Since then, the art center has apologized and explained that they did not act on their own initiative.
Shen Yun is known for portraying China before communism and gives life to old legends,
feminist traditions and traditional Chinese values through dance and music.
The performance also contains contemporary elements that highlight the ongoing persecution of Falun Gong.
It is a spiritual method with roots in meditation and moral principles
The Chinese Communist Party has tried to stop Shen Yun for more than 10 years.
For example, by pressuring theaters to cancel performances, threatening politicians in other countries from being present,
and even sabotaging the artists' tour buses by cutting the tires.
