In a statement, the US health minister said,
We raise the curtain with full transparency and responsibility
to deliver the honest answers families have been waiting for too long.
Earlier this week, RFK Junior stated in an interview with Fox News
that the register will be voluntary and will not contain any personal information.
The US Health and Social Department, HHS,
confirmed that the project will comply with relevant integrity laws,
but did not specify whether the tasks will be anonymous
or whether the participants will be voluntary.
According to the US National Public Health Agency, CDC,
about one in 31 children in the US was diagnosed with autism in 2022.
They said it was the highest figure ever.
What causes autism is still unclear.
Researchers suspect that it is a combination of genetic and environmental factors.
Some experts say that the increase in diagnoses
is primarily due to the fact that the definition of autism has been broadened.
