federal workers accepted president Trump's early buyout offer after what Doge discovered the US Aid was spending money on that Workforce is expected to go from 10,000 down to 300 thus today 1,300 federal employees that work for the CDC were laid off and the IRS is expected to cut their Workforce by 10% then you also have the executive order that was signed to bring all federal employees to work back in the office currently in the Metro DC area there are 5,581 homes for sale and 2,183 of those were listed in the last month this is the neighboring Town of Arlington Virginia in the past 48 Hours look at all of the new listings you can see them because they're tagged with that green coming soon some it's looking like a mass Exodus from Washington DC and the neighboring areas and some might say this is what draining the swamp looks like also Trump is correct when he noted that tariffs at one time were the principal source of federal government revenue from the nation's founding until the Civil War tariffs generated 90% of federal revenue I kid you not even from the Civil War until 1913 when the con Constitution was amended to provide an income tax tariffs produce 50% of federal revenue if Government were reduced to the size intended by the founding fathers tariffs could again replace the income tax as a primary source of federal government revenue 14 is a lot for television so I want to just go right down the list quickly and have you give me a thumbs up or thumbs down keep them or abolish them Department of Agriculture abolish gone Department of Commerce abolish gone Department of defense keep keep it Department of Education abolish gone energy abolish how except as energy ties in with the military well then we shove it under defense the little bit research agency no no that's a question of whether the government should be involved in financing research and the answer is no well that's a complic that's a very complicated issue and it's not an easy answer with respect to that will eliminate half of the Department of Health and Human Services okay one half there we go Housing and Urban Development out oh didn't even pause over that one Department of the Interior oh but Housing and Urban Development has done an enormous amount of harm my God if you think of the way in which they've destroyed uh parts of cities under the rubric of of eliminating slums uh Jack K you know you remember and Martin Anderson wrote a book on the federal bulldozzer describing the effect of the Urban Development there have been many more dwelling units torn down in the in the in the name of public housing that have been built Jack k has proposed selling to the current inhabitants of public housing their unit their townhouse their apartment for a dollar a piece and just shifting the ownership to the people who live if you got rid of the Department of Housing and Urban Development it would be worth doing that all right done that's gone Department of the Interior your beloved national uh Park Service well given that the problem there is you first have to sell off all the land that the government owns but that's what you should do you could could be done you should do that there's no reason for government to own the government now owns something like onethird of all the land in the country and that's too much should go down to zero should go down to well not entirely zero they ought to own the land on which government buildings are okay terrific Department of Justice oh yes keep that one keep that one labor no gone State keep keep it transportation Gone Gone the treasury you have to keep it to collect taxes all right collect taxes through the treasury Veterans Affairs you can regard the veteran affairs as a way of of of paying essentially salaries for services of those who have been in the Armed Force but you ought to be able to get rid of it you should be by by off pay it off pay off lump sums perhaps and just get been panicking over all this Insanity with these planes you know and that there's all kinds of stuff going on like so let's start with the string of mass firings by Elon musk's do dogy doy do do dogy uh has sparked a lot of chaos confusion and fear because Transportation secretary Shan Duffy is defending the firing of 400 FAA workers but former secretary Pete Buddha judge slammed the firings of employees who control Communications radio com uh computer systems all given given all the confusion so is this really the time to be laying off folks and and who is exactly getting laid off well they're seeming to uh be laying off probationary workers when you work for the Department of Justice or work for the government sometimes you have a two-year uh probationary period sometimes you have a one year or threee so these are people that have Pro are in their probationary period and they're not protected yet and so they're just kind of getting rid of them willy-nilly the other thing that they're doing is the union spokesperson said that they the people that have been affected are maintenance mechanics aeronautical information Specialists Environmental Protection Specialists Aviation Safety assistance and management and program assistance and I just want to just call back to what what Pete Budaj tweeted he said we put Safety First drove down close calls grew air control traffic control and had zero commercial airline crash fat fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch president Trump now oversees the military and the FAA one of his first acts was to Fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe the Secretary of Transportation sha Duffy posted the following on x quote here's the truth the FAA alone has a staggering 45,000 employees less than 400 were let go and they were all probationary meaning they had been hired less than a year ago zero Air Traffic Control controllers and zero critical safety personnel will let go not to mention that over 90% of the workforce under mayor Pete's leadership were working from home end of quote everything Drop It come on holy now this views co-panelist would beg you differ from M host I do think it's a valid point but I want to be very clear there is no evidence that the DC tragic plane crash had anything to do with these firings and then this most recent one in Toronto it was because of landing on a Canadian Airway and it was related to The Landing it was not there is yet at this time no evidence that's related to the layoffs do these Cuts affect you uh the cuts do not affect us Gail uh I've been in close communication with the Secretary of Transportation uh I understand that the uh the cuts at this time are are something that are raising questions but the reality is there's over 50,000 people that work at the FAA and the cuts I understand were 300 people and they were in non-critical safety functions the Trump Administration has committed to investing deeply in terms of improving the overall technologies that are used in the air traffic control systems and modernizing the skies they've committed to hiring additional controllers and investigators uh and safety invest investigators so no I'm not concerned with that at all never mind this guy BS a differ how do you feel about the end of the Dei era a little sad I guess you could say because I thought we were pushing forward being Forward Thinking I hope that we can do better than this do you think Dei initiatives are good things in Industries like Aviation military firefighting I believe so yeah and why do you think that I I don't know like I just uh think it n I'm not sure I just think it would be better if that we were forward thinking I'm old enough to remember when Democrats attacked waste Fraud and Abuse this report tells us how to cut waste cut red tape streamline the bureaucracy change procurement rules change the Personnel rules and create a government that works better and costs less by paying for these plans first with cuts in government waste and the efficiency second with cuts not gimmicks in government spending we prove that we can spend the money we have in an appropriate way and stop wasting so much of but over the next several months we will be looking at every other agency and program asking the direct question do we really need this agency do we really need this program 20 years into a period in our history where most American wage earners are working longer work weeks for stagnant wages it is outrageous for the government to have rules and regulations which take those people's money from them and spend it on things that cannot be justified one of the commitments that I made the American people was that we would do a better job here in Washington in rooting out wasteful spending now I've known Steven Miller Trump's top policy adviser since he was in high school poor CNN I understand that a that even a temporary interruption in federal employment is a great crisis and catastrophe for you and for CNN what the American people see is a government that is finally delivering a promise of accountability under President Trump you want to have a conversation about transparency let me ask you a question do you have any idea where the $22 billion that the Department of Health and Human Services provided to illegal aliens under Joe Biden is right now 22 billion with the B that's enough to provide a free house to every homeless veteran in America where's the $22 billion I don't know you don't know nobody knows Joe Biden just spent it and now it's gone transparency begins with having an accounting of where every Federal dollar is spent and God bless president Trump for leading this effort hammer time you mentioned yesterday and you mentioned again here uh illegal immigrants who are getting child tax credits if are are you looking for that information in the IRS data anytime a crime is committed of course there should be an investigation is it your position that if somebody who is here are you looking for that information in the IR data the federal government will find every illegal alien who is stealing American taxpayer dollars and that is what Americans find IRS I don't premise of your question it's a simple question question find that information in the IRS data and share that with law IRS investigators find illegal aliens stealing taxpayer money of course it'll be referred to ice of course it'll be referred to Homeland Security investigations of course it will be surely your position is not that we should let illegal aliens steal taxpayer dollars you want to talk about something to be upset about that's it what do you think the millions of illegal aliens who have also stolen Social Security illegal aliens in Mass have fake Social Security numbers they have fake identities those are felonies why should there be an entire class in this country that is immunized from Criminal prosecution and arrest for committing felonies felony theft of taxpayer information felony theft of Social Security felony theft of identity these are all crimes and yes they will be investigated yes they will be prosecuted and yes the will be deported and you know what happens when those deportations occur just very quick is that Americans will get jobs Americans will get benefit Americans will get hous Sten if they got a child if they got a credit a child tax credit and they they will be referred you're saying to ice for that and you would expect deported for that is that is that the position of the administration if it is found that a crime has been committed they'll be referred if the if it is justifies the prosecution they'll be prosecuted if it justifies a deportation they will be deported this will be based on existing IRS protocols and procedures for criminal investigation and fraud the difference is that no one is given immunity anymore no one is given permission to break the law anymore because this is not a country this is not a sovereign territory if illegal aliens can freely steal billions with a B billions of taxpayer dollars and I would have to imagine that that CNN which is endlessly talked about the importance of democracy and the rule of law would say that no class in this country should be of the law least of all illegal aliens who've trespassed on our territory Stephen I'm just uh asking I wanted to get your position on some things this we're not taking a position here we wanted to get some answers to some questions there are so many questions that need to be answer does s to me like you are in fact indifferent or unbias on these questions but thank you what can I say Mamba out you you must you see here's the problem Democrats are facing what interest uh in lowering costs in the United States of America which are too high housing costs are too high grocery costs are too high child care costs are too high utility costs are too high the cost of living is too high in the United States of America this country is too expensive uh but they've broken their promise they have no interest in improving the quality of life of hardworking American taxpayers instead what they're trying to do while they distract the American people is to jam the GOP tax scam down the throats of people all across this country all in service of massive tax cuts for their billionaire donors and Wealthy corporations it's a toxic bait and switch that is underway and we will continue to push back forcefully but Donald Trump's favorability rating is actually higher than it ever was the first time around let me ask you I I a recent poll by Marquette looked at several of the things that he has done or has says that he is going to do and 63% favor uh Federal government's recognition of only two Sexes uh 60% favor deporting immigrants who entered the United States illegally 60% favor expanding oil and gas Pro uh production 59% favor declaring an emergency at the southern border is there anything you are see that that Trump is doing uh that you are in favor of do you think is the right thing let me say as it relates uh to all of those issues we're just at the beginning and the core promise uh that Donald Trump made is that he's going to lower costs for everyday Americans in fact we were told that grocery prices would go down on day one on January 20th costs aren't lower in fact costs are increased ing the price of eggs is skyrocketing out of control inflation is on the way up that was the core promise that's been broken with respect to immigration listen we have to secure the Border we have a broken immigration system and we need to fix it in a comprehensive and bipartisan way whale is early that's the best response he's got the man looked like he wanted to be somewhere else want to get away and this CNN analyst admits that Trump has changed the elector in favor of wait for it the Republican Party Donald Trump and the Republican party has changed the electorate what do I mean by that well let's take a look at party identification Democrats versus Republicans you go back to 2017 Five Points more of the electorate was Democrats than Republicans you go to 2021 when Joe Biden was starting out look at that six points more of the electorate was Democrats than Republicans but look at what's happened in February of 2025 look at this Republicans there are more Republicans in the electorate than there are Democrats Republican plus two so Donald Trump and the Republicans have remade the electorate they've turned some people over from being Democrats or Independents to become Republicans new folks have entered the electorate who are more republican-leaning and so when you combine that with the fact that Republicans are really really behind Donald Trump all of a sudden you get a winning recipe whereby you break the normal rules of politics and give Donald Trump that positive net approval rating when he had pretty much a consistently negative one in term number one as I said at the beginning he's copying Frank Sinatra doing it my way the microphone man is Marjorie Taylor green a beast or what toal meeting is this all you really talking about is the J Sixers that have been pardoned yeah okay are you going to talk about the Biden family that got pardoned no I haven't okay what about the rap rapers and killers and murderers that Joe Biden pardoned there tons of them is that a focus at all I'm asking about j6 I know I know that's what you're asking I know that's what you're asking about and that's I'm not doing this this this insane place up here and all of y'all's obsession with January 6th is absurd everybody outside of here is sick and tired of it I'm serious and so Joe Biden pardons all values of free speech the threat that I worry the most about vvv Europe is not Russia it's not China it's not any other external actor and what I worry about is the threat from within the retreat of says Germany is on a slow motion suicide Germany for example has been systematically shutting down its nuclear plants and for a while it's natural gas electrical generation plants but the net result of all of this deliberate turn to wind and solar at the expense of fossil fuels and nuclear is that it cost about four times more to use electricity in Germany than it does on average throughout the United States that's not the only problem Germany represents the PowerHouse traditionally of the European economy and even culture and it's starting to implode [Music] hi I'm Victor Davis Hansen for the daily signal today I'd like to talk about the crisis facing Europe specifically its self-implosion across the Spectrum energy population fertility defense Germany for example has been systematically shutting down on its nuclear plants and for a while its natural gas electrical generation plants it's relying believe it or not more on oil and coal but the net result of all of this deliberate turn to wind and solar at the expense of fossil fuels and nuclear is that it cost about four times more to use electricity in Germany than it does on average throughout the United States that's not the only problem Germany is de-industrializing and by that I mean it's losing about 200,000 jobs in its Auto industry due to these high energy prices and regulations its green mandates especially electric vehicle mandates have revolutionized the car industry in the sense that they're not selling abroad as they did in the past in addition to that Germany's disarmed they only have about 125 attack aircraft they have very few armored vehicles they their military their active military is only about 180,000 soldiers they have 84 million people in the country the fertility rate is getting very close to 1.4 I know we have problems here in the United States at 1.6 but 1.4 and they don't have borders they have had a million to two million illegal aliens just prance into Germany especially during the last years of the Merkel chancellorship in terms of percentage of foreign born Germany has more foreign born than does the United States which doesn't have a border in the south at least until Donald Trump comes in 20% of the German population is foreign born why am I mentioning all of this because Germany represents the PowerHouse traditionally of the European economy and even culture and it's starting to implode the Euro The Benchmark of European Financial Health is about right now as I speak at the end of December $1 to1 Euro and sometimes uh even less for the Euro that's very strange because when I used to run a travel company to go to Europe I remember in 2008 the Euro was 1.6 almost 1.7 per the dollar so what's happening is that Germany is I guess we would call it undertaking a slow motion suicide but here's the irony in September 1944 at the height of World War II the Secretary of the Treasury under the Roosevelt administration Henry morgantha had a plan for postwar Germany When It Was Defeated he didn't want another War the Franco Prussian war of 18771 World War I World War II he said enough so what did he do he submitted a plan that was going to de-industrialized Germany depopulate Germany change its borders it was almost as if he was trying to turn it into something like tacitus description of 1 Century ad Germany as a pastoral agrarian society in fact he explicitly said that when J Joseph Geral heard about this he's he said oh my God this is a gift we're losing the war we'll tell all of the German people they want us to be permanently pastoral we'll starve to death and even if they don't like the Nazis as we've destroyed the country or losing War they'll fight thankfully George Marshall Chief of Staff of the army ex-president Herbert Hoover and others went to the Roosevelt administration said if you Institute this plan they're going to fight to the death and we have bombed Germany so when we get into Germany you'll see that it's almost depopulated now the net result was they canceled the Morgan thou plan that would have permanently made Germany depopulated disarmed de-industrialized what's my point in bringing up this historical example we the victors of World War II thought imposing a plan of deliberate de-industrialization depopulation disarmament open borders destroyed borders would be too carthaginian and so we backed off and now we're here 80 years after the rejection of the Morgan THU plan and the German people or the German leadership have essentially updated it and inflicted it on go and protest with you the $255 I I spent to clean my car I could have used to donate to the DNC or you know to a number of other organizations that could have done something a little bit more constructive now while he is considering selling the Tesla te's also tells me that he is getting more cameras around his home following this vandalism and a couple break-ins within the last 3 months a
