Hi there story friend. Today we're going to meet a speedy lizard and a hard-working ant. They are very different but they are about to learn something very important. The lizard and the ant. A story about teamwork, patience and helping one another. In the warm corner of the garden under the shade of a big rock lived a speedy little lizard. He was fast, he was flashy and he loved to race around. Nearby in a tiny tunnel beneath the soil lived a hard-working ant. She was careful patience and always building and gathering. One sunny morning lizard zoomed past ant's hill. Why do you work all day little ant? He asked. Come race with me. Ant smiled. I'd love to but I have food to gather and tunnels to dig. I work now so I'll be ready later. Lizard shrugged. Don't need to worry about later. I live in the moment. And off he zipped through the garden. But later that week the weather changed. Wind blew hard. Rain fell fast. Lizard's sunny rock was soaked and he had no food saved. He shivered and sighed. Oh no! Maybe I should have listened to ant. Suddenly he saw a tiny light glowing under a leaf. It was ant's cozy tunnel. Hello lizard. Ant said kindly. Would you like to come inside and share some food? Lizard's eyes lit up. Really? Even after I didn't help? Ant nodded. Friends help each other even when they're different. Lizard smiled. Thank you ant. I won't be a better helper to you. From that day on lizard still loved to zoom. But sometimes slowed down to lend a helping hand. And that's the story of the lizard and the ant.
