Mounting Japanese Paintings, Piece by Piece

This video highlights some of the final steps of mounting a Japanese painting, when all the pieces come together. Watch how our Japanese painting conservator detaches fabric borders from a drying board, applies paste to them, attaches them to the painting, hammers them, cuts excess, and finally unveils the whole piece after it dries.
