HIGHLIGHTS | Como vs. Napoli (Serie A Femminile 2024-25 Relegation Pool Matchday 10)

Ferdinando Emmanuel Toro, the referee, gets us underway here in Sassuolo at the Stadio Enzo Ricci. It is the home side Sassuolo who turn out in the black with green trim against Sampdoria who turn out in the all-white for today's tie. Stealing that ball down the far side for Pitaccio. Miopis is waiting for a delivery to come her way. It won't. Monterubiano now in possession looks for the pass. It's nicely defended by the opposing captain. Ball has not gone out of play though. There's Monterubiano again inside the area. Gets a shot away and it's not too far away from that back post of Tampieri. Finish international. Chases on, chases on. One-on-one situation and Sampdoria have the opening goal and it's brilliantly done. Lovely little run from Giada Pellegrino down that far side flank. Latches onto the loose ball and strikes true from a one-on-one situation. Sampdoria, relegation confirmed, are showing grit and determination here. Everyone is there in support. Angel is looking for the longer pass. Barbieri in a little space in the middle of the park and then puts in a big challenge and that's a red card. Barbieri is off. Sampdoria leading by a goal and they're down to 10 players. Pellegrino can strike it with a left boot. Cleland with the right. Cleland, oh hits the frame and away. Seeking a ninth goal of the season, Lana Cleland has struck it firmly. Sampdoria from the corner kick, jostling for positions inside the area. The header is good but it's just a little high, Pisani. Chiorentina as well played in Switzerland with Rapid Lugano. Decorated career for Sabatino who's among those chasing. She's cutting into a central position. Cleland on the end of this ball. Cleland round that marker, looks for a shot from a tight angle but that's defended well. Pisani coming across and sees that ball out of play. Sampdoria who lead today. Persielli looking to make a run from the corner in toward the near post and Tampieri manages to get down and make a save. Has it crossed the line? It has. A bit of a goal mouth scramble but eventually the goal is scored and it might very well be through the center. Monte Rubiano leaves it for Persielli. Pass is good. Sabatino is there, can't turn. Three defenders closing her down quickly. Falikos come away with possession. Looks to run this at Dom's, gets the pass away. Juppes, Pellegrino all charging into attacking positions. Colombo with a little chip over the top. Is she onside? Maybe a chance to come back to Arcangeli who strikes it straight at Di Nalo. Leading scorer for Sampdoria this season, Arcangeli with three goals. Very good play Arcangeli. Her fourth loan spell though from her parent club Juventus after Parma, Como and Pumigliano. Playing with Sampdoria here as we hit the 45 minute mark in Sassuolo. Here's a chance for Sampdoria and it's taken a big deflection and kind ultimately for Di Nalo who is able to latch on. Well Sampdoria and Sassuolo are both appealing for the call to come in their favor here. In charge of today's tie. Whipped in and this header from Cagliazzo looked to be on target before Tampieri just turned it around her upright. The long throw towards Faliko. Sabatino trying to work that ball forward. Nicely done by Pisani. A room with a long ball down the far flank. Baldi, Baldi, Baldi needs only one touch before striking true and 10 players Sampdoria find themselves leading once again. Sara Baldi off the bench and onto the score sheet. Looks for that long ball again. Don't. Picks up on it here. Cleland is broken to the left. Players wait. Outside of the boot and that is taken in a very very wicked touch into the back of the Sampdoria net and a ball that should have been cut out. Eventually poked home by Girotto for her first goal. Rossi looking to get into a good position. The 18 year old. She's only played 10 minutes of top flight football in all of her career. Vercelli dispossessed under pressure. Chases on. Cleland is away. Cleland is away. Cleland looking one-on-one for the winner here. Potentially Cleland strikes clean and Sassuolo have come from behind to score late and maybe just maybe that is the decisive goal. 88 minutes. Lana Cleland like a dart. Accurate to a fault. Could there be an added time equalizer as we hit the 90 minute five minutes of time added on. Indirect free kick. That means you can't strike it directly into the net. Needs to be two touches before it goes in if it is to go in indeed. Baldi and Yopi stand over this. Who's going to strike it? Looks like Baldi's going to touch it off to Yopi who might have a go. This needs to be accurate. Yopi is off the woodwork and away. Scrambled to Sassuolo. Former Sampdoria coach. No doubt he would have an element of sentiment towards Sampdoria being relegated this campaign. After four seasons in the top flight they're escaping. Girotto is to the left. Cleland has got herself one-on-one. Can she find another finish here? There's no doubt about it. She scored a brace against Sampdoria the last time they met. She's got two this game. She's got 10 now in the season. Over the top. Sampdoria still have a chance to add something to the score sheet. Baldi from a tight angle goes straight over the crossbar. That the end of this fixture. That the end of the Serie A Femminile eBase season. The relegation round fixture between mid table Sassuolo and bottom place Sampdoria is done.
