Janusz, are you the type of person who likes to party in the evening or go to the theatre?
Or are you more of a couch potato?
I'm not a couch potato at all, but otherwise both.
I like to go to the Pratergarten with pleasure,
but today, for example, I stay at home and enjoy my rest.
Let's see what the other Berliners say.
How do people spend their evening here? Go!
Go!
How do you normally spend your evenings?
I usually spend my evenings when I come back from work, like most people.
I'm actually pretty quiet.
I'm also a musician at my job and play the guitar or the piano.
Great. And do you sing?
Yes, but that should be better.
It doesn't matter, as long as you sing.
And do you write your own lyrics?
Yes, I do.
My evening?
When I'm in a good mood, I go to the gym and do some exercise,
so that everything stays in place.
Then I go home and have dinner with my husband.
We tell each other our day.
And usually I either read a book or watch a series.
And sometimes we also go to the theatre or the cinema.
Right now I'm going to school,
then I come home, take a shower,
think about what I want to eat,
then I cook something,
and then I watch.
Sometimes I train,
or I just have a relaxing evening and watch a movie.
It depends. I work in shifts.
Sometimes I have late shift, sometimes I have night shift,
sometimes early shift, where I go to bed earlier.
But when I have the evening off, I like to lie on the couch.
We have a Nintendo Switch,
where my partner and I often play games,
or watch movies and series.
Exercise, eat, go to bed early, get up early.
What kind of exercise?
Bodyweight and with weights.
At home.
I don't go to the gym at home.
Our evening?
I'm not the party mouse.
Dinner, a good series and then go to bed.
I don't really like going to parties.
I'm more relaxed in bars or at home with friends.
But the main thing is that we eat together and go out.
And what do you do? Do you play board games?
I hate board games.
Me too, exactly.
But I like cards.
In fact, I've become friends with cards since I started studying.
Or you just talk. Talking is the best.
Just communicate.
I come home and usually do a little exercise.
Then I eat something.
And then after eating, you're a little flat.
And then you don't really feel like doing anything.
And then I realize that I could do a lot more with my evenings.
How do you spend your evenings?
With my little dog on the sofa.
And I have a sauna blanket at home.
Do you really sweat under the sauna blanket?
Yes, but it takes about 40 minutes.
It takes longer than a normal sauna.
But it goes deeper into the muscles.
It's good for detoxing.
And does the dog come along?
He lies next to my face and gives me company.
Netflix, YouTube, social networks.
Very simple.
And do you cook in the evening?
Yes, very much.
I always try to cook something new.
That's great. Tell me.
I like to cook something Asian.
For example, Japanese food, Korean food.
My evenings?
I usually cook something to eat when I get home.
And then I put on something comfortable.
And then I probably sit on the sofa, watch a movie or a series.
I talk on the phone with a friend.
I just sit comfortably at home.
How do you usually spend your evenings?
It depends.
I work for an organization.
And we are often together in the office after work.
We drink a beer and play table tennis.
We play a lot.
That's great.
And when you get home, what do you usually do in your apartment?
First I take a shower.
I'm out on the street all day.
I talk to people.
And I'm usually totally exhausted.
First I take a shower.
And then I like to watch a series or read a book.
My evenings?
I eat breakfast.
I brush my teeth.
I change clothes.
I play tennis.
I read a book.
I walk the dogs.
In the evening, very late, when everyone is asleep.
When I've slept for the first time and then got up again.
I fall asleep with the children.
And I listen to a book.
A small one.
But actually I always watch a book.
When I want to make myself really comfortable in the evening,
I sit on the sofa,
cuddle in a blanket
and watch YouTube.
Like you are doing right now.
Then I watch my favorite show, for example,
Last Week Tonight.
And I realize
that it's not available in Germany.
For some reason this show is available in Polish YouTube,
but not in Germany.
Exactly, Janusz.
But that's not a problem for me.
I just use our partner NordVPN.
This way I connect with Poland
and I can surf as if I were in Poland
and watch my favorite show.
If you also want to do that,
for example, watch German shows
that are not available in your country,
try NordVPN.
Nordvpn.com is our link
and with it you also get an exclusive discount
and four free months.

How many times a week
do you go out to party
or to the cinema?
Not as often as I'd like to, unfortunately.
Lately I haven't had that much free time
and I have to change that.
Maybe three times a week.
That's a lot.
Maximum three times a week.
And what happens then?
Do you go to the cinema or club?
No club.
Cinema, café, park.
Just outside.
Mostly only on weekends.
And what do you do then?
Go out to eat or to a bar.
And what about clubbing?
I've never been to a club here in Berlin,
but sometimes in Switzerland.
I'd like to say two or three times,
but I think it's more like once.
And in the week or on the weekend?
Both.
And more cinema or more clubbing?
Cinema.
Definitely cinema.
Or go out to eat.
How often do you go out per week?
Maybe to the cinema, maybe to the club?
Almost every day.
Then there's still a bit of energy left.
And what do you do most of the time?
When I go out?
I go to bars a lot with my friends.
Often after work I go to a bar
or I meet up with friends.
I really like kicker bars in Friedrichshain.
And what about clubbing?
I rarely meet people who say,
I just go to the club and dance there.
I do sometimes.
It doesn't happen that often lately,
but there was a time when I went to a lot of parties.
And a lot alone.
Because I think it's always funny
when you get to know new people.
Simply because you get into situations
where you are forced to get to know new people.
Two to three times if it goes well.
And sometimes a week is left.
It's all a bit of a lie.
But we try two or three times a week.
And what do you do?
How do you spend this evening?
We like to go bouldering,
or eat with friends.
We also have a music studio,
where we are sometimes with friends.
What does music studio mean?
Do you make music?
I record it myself
and my friend also produces.
Ah, that's great.
Yes, maybe twice a week or so.
At least?
Yes, but I like to be at home.
I'm a, how do you say?
Couch potato.
Yes, in German.
I'm looking for the German word.
The Germans say that too.
Me too.
How did you spend
your weekend
seven years ago
when you were still a schoolchild?
I smoked secretly there.
I went for a walk in the evening.
I lived in Serbia
and there was a park.
I sneaked out
in the evening
and walked through the park.
I met a lot of friends.
I still lived in a small town.
We cycled a lot.
We sat somewhere
on the market square
and drank a beer.
We just chatted.
I played video games.
I played a lot.
I watched a lot of YouTube.
Now I read more.
Back then I didn't read at all.
It was just consuming, consuming, consuming.
Eating, eating, eating, consuming.
What can I watch? What can I play?
My parents never had
a cell phone ban.
That means eating dinner with my parents in the evening.
Then skyping with a friend.
And as long as possible
watching a series
or YouTube videos
What were the evenings like
back then?
Now carefully.
Yes, very carefully.
When you had more ideas.
Exactly, more energy.
To be honest, not much different.
I'm more of a homebody.
If I may say so.
My husband sometimes regrets that.
I've never been a big club goer.
That's why I didn't do that.
Maybe I met a little more
with friends back then.
I used to live in Cologne.
The roads are shorter there.
In Berlin it's sometimes a little difficult
because you have to take long routes.
Stummenhocker is a very nice word.
For us it's the other way around.
I'm the Stummenhocker
and my wife wants to travel.
That's her thing.
Try to remember and describe
the most beautiful evening
you've spent lately.
Maybe it was a meeting
with your friends.
Two weeks ago
I had my four-year-old
with my boyfriend.
Then we went to eat
in Berlin.
I liked it very much.
It was a fancy dinner.
One of the most beautiful evenings
was in the afternoon.
My best friend told me
that she was pregnant.
I'm just coming from that.
We went to dinner together.
I was one of the first
who knew that.
I'd say it was the karaoke
with my best friend.
He moved to Australia
and we went to karaoke
at least once a week
with my group of friends.
He sang well, didn't he?
Not at all, but it made it better.
We all sing horribly,
but it was a lot of fun
no matter how it sounds.
Maybe Christmas evening
is the best time
to gather all the family
in our house.
I have three children.
All three come to me
and all the children
come to my husband.
We have this
German-Ukrainian evening
with Christmas traditions
for both countries.
Try to remember
one of the most beautiful
evenings you've spent.
Tell us about it.
At the campfire
with friends.
It's a transition
for young people
to a young man.
There are party rounds
and when you sit there
you don't know them
but they all come to the place
and tell their stories.
They introduce themselves
and it's always nice.
All the evenings at the campfire
For me
there wasn't one moment
but I go to Finland
every year.
My mother is from Finland
and we have a summer house there.
A lot of mosquitos?
Yes, a lot of mosquitos.
But you don't think about them.
It's more like
these long days.
In the summer
in the north
you have these long days
and it's ten, eleven o'clock
and the sun still goes down.
And you just see
the sun shining
on the lake.
You just breathe.
That's life.
I don't need more.
Now we want to know
how you like to spend
your evenings.
