The 22News Storm Team has declared a Weather Alert for street, stream, and river flooding for Friday. Thursday night's heavy rain in our urban areas will increase the potential for street and river flooding on Friday.
Look at the 22 News Storm Team ESP live
Doppler radar. Had some thunderstorms
earlier this evening and now again the
rain is tapering off in the lower
valley. There's still some heavier rain
over eastern and actually central and
eastern Franklin County. So Greenfield,
Montigue, Irving, Northfield, Orange
getting into some uh rain now. This is
moving to the northeast at about 20 to
30 mph. So this first wave of rain
exits, but there are more showers here
off to our uh south and west. So, this
train of rain is cruising right into the
Pioneer Valley, and that's why we expect
some occasional showers overnight and
some heavier rain here tomorrow. In
fact, the flood watch from the National
Weather Service calls covers all of
western Massachusetts until 8:00
Saturday morning. Again, street, stream,
and maybe even some river flooding is a
possibility here between now and
Saturday. Rain tomorrow, 60° in
Springfield and Westfield.
Expect the heaviest rain to happen in
the afternoon as you'll see with our 22
new storm team skycast in a minute. 59
in Amoris, 55 tomorrow, Middlefield
raining all day in Franklin County,
Greenfield, 57 also 57 in South
Deerfield and 58 tomorrow, Gra Bington
and North Adams. Again, we'll track uh
the rain arrival hour by hour and the
drying for the weekend with the 22 News
Storm Team Skycast.
