This week's episode of Gray Market, never a dull moment.
Dom sold a watch to a dealer some three weeks ago,
and now the guy's trying to return it.
Why am I dealing with his client? It's not our fault.
It's authentic. We checked it. We're good. There's no issue.
Kevin's got a client whom he sold a watch and it's too small,
so therefore, he's got to find extra links ASAP,
because the guy wants to wear the watch yesterday.
That link, there should be another one.
All we need is the pins.
Do you see it?
No.
The screws don't fit on the links. The dude's expecting the watch.
And, of course, Gary got some crazy new jewelry purchases,
and Gary is being Gary.
Why would Harry Winston even make a ring like that?
It just looks like a basic bitch ring.
What have you been smoking?
I'm gonna throw at you a Harry Winston ring, okay?
Am I right?
Got $150,000 on this table.
Looks like a whole entire inventory, but it's only $150,000.
Now, imagine what a real, real inventory looks like and how much that costs.
I'm new to this business. I hope you take care of me and you don't f**k me.
Nah, listen, dude. We're not gonna f**k nobody.
Hopefully, Dom can solve this issue, so stay tuned.
It's not our fault. We sold him what we did.
It's authentic. We checked it. We're good. There's no issue.
First of all, the watch works properly, right? There's no issues with the watch?
Correct. Not what he wants to do.
Authenticity check. As a watch dealer, that should be on you.
We shouldn't be dealing with his clients.
If it was our client, absolutely, we guarantee authenticity.
We made sure that it's authentic. We made sure to check that it works properly.
So I'm not sure what he wants from you at this point.
So a tough situation here.
A dealer purchased the Patek for me about three weeks ago.
Now he's saying he's questioning the authenticity of the watch.
Has it been polished? Has it not?
Now he thinks he's gonna return it. That's not in our policy.
If you're a watch dealer, you should be liable for your customers
and make sure that you deal with them on your own.
Well, guys, I hope Dom resolves this issue.

So after talking over with Anna, I think the best situation is to get this guy on the phone
and settle this once and for all.
All right, I just gave the watch to my guy.
Okay.
He said if the back's not coming off, it's an issue with the case
and he has to figure it out.
He's gonna get back to you by the end of the day.
If there's no issues, great.
If not, I'm new to this business.
I hope you take care of me and you don't **** me.
But that's all.
No, listen, dude, we're not gonna **** nobody.
Let's just see what he says, all right?
Because I'm sure he'll be fine.
Because like I said, it went through our inspection prior to anything.
It's just, listen, I understand you're new to the business
and I don't want to start from the wrong foot for you.
If you guys want references to make sure that I'm not some scumbag that's trying to like...
Totally understand.
Listen, if you could send them...
Listen, I believe you 100%.
I'm not trying to say that you're...
He said, she said.
It's just we have to cover all the bases, obviously.
You can just send me the references anyway,
but I'm sure we'll be fine by the end of the day.
Okay, no problem.
Thanks, bro.
I appreciate it.
All right.
You guys offer a 30-day return policy.
I'm like, no.
He's like, well, don't you have a two-year warranty?
I was like, yeah, we have a two-year warranty for our retail customers.
You claim to me you're a dealer.
We gave you the dealer price and we don't offer that.
I said, dude, it's been 22 days now.
How do I know if the movements have been swapped?
I don't know.
I'm not there.
I take your word for it.
You seem like a nice dude, but I have no idea.
22 days, bro.
That watch has been in your hands for a minute and you're just checking it now?
It's been 22 days.
22 days is a lot of time.
Change a movement, take everything.
100%.
So that's why it's like, yeah, it seems like a nice dude, but we want to make sure.
And he said, I want references.
Send me your references, dude.
I want to make sure.
The dealer overall seems like a nice guy.
Along with that, he seems like he's pretty new to the industry.
He's just trying to check all boxes.
He's supposed to give me a call back, so stay tuned.
It's a little, little, little.
You can put it on your little Roman.
It's going to fit your little Roman.
It's a perfect size for a little Roman.
It's a Harry Winston ring.
The box costs more than the ring.
I'm going to throw something at you.
I'm going to throw at you a Harry Winston ring, okay?
Is this Harry Winston?
Why would Harry Winston even make a ring like that?
What do you mean?
It's just like a nothing.
It's just a bullshit.
Small people should wear jewelry, too.
It's not small.
It's not about the size.
It's about what it is.
The retail on this ring over $10,000.
I guarantee you from Harry Winston.
It was especially made for a little woman.
Listen, little people should wear jewelry.
It's not about the size.
I'm talking about the look of it.
It's like nothing.
You know what I mean?
I'm talking about the actual aesthetics of the ring.
It's just like a basic, basic bitch ring.
You know, am I crazy?
What have you been smoking?
My question is this.
Why the hell would you need to go to Harry Winston
for some basic ass ring like that
when you go to your local jewelry and get the same thing?
Let me ask you a question.
Why do you need to go to Harry Winston
and buy three carat stone in the Harry Winston setting,
spend three times as much when you got to go,
when you can go...
Listen, there is a people...
Why would you go to Louis Vuitton and buy $1,000?
Exactly, exactly.
You can get it from Nike for $200.
That's a little different.
Why is it different?
Brand is a brand, okay?
You're paying for the brand.
Hold on, hold on a second.
Hold on a second.
The work that Harry Winston is going to do in that ring
or the stones that they're going to get for that ring,
are you telling me that most jewelers
can't feel that same promise?
Would you replicate that ring?
I can make a ring like that.
That's what I'm saying.
With the same stones, same quality.
Go to Istanbul, okay?
I've been to Istanbul, thank you.
I know, I know.
You never went to the market.
If you go to the market and you see all these Louis Vuitton shoes
and Hermes belts and Hermes shoes and Gucci shoes,
one-to-one, even better quality than Louis Vuitton,
sells for 10 cents on a dollar.
Why?
But people still go to Louis Vuitton and buy the real stuff, okay?
Am I right?
I'm always right.
Take your little ring and let me talk to Adrian, please.
You have to put a value today on the Vacheron mask set.
I have zero idea.
Same, that's why I'm asking.
Here's a better question.
What do we need it for and what's on the other side?
The other side is me trading a couple of pieces that we've had aging,
that you'd be happy to move.
So that's what I put a life of it.
Last time I had experience with the Vacheron mask set
is when I sold it probably more than 10 years ago for like 300 grand.
Can we like put our heads together and actually...
Yeah, very simple.
Phone a few friends.
You would be the friend.
I'll talk to Jay about the mask set if you can think of a value for me
where we would want to own them.
Let me know.
Just do your little research.
Towards what?
Circus.
Roman Buy.
Go ahead, next.
Audemars Piguet Perpetual Stainless Steel.
Roman Buy.
What?
Don't you even think about it.
Don't you even dare throw the ball in my direction.
You bought an 1892 Jaeger LeCoultre Platinum Perpetual yesterday.
Tell me that's not a Roman Buy.
Roman, for the price that I bought that for,
we can set it on fire when I move the needle.
The watch that you bought, we're losing $70,000 on.
It was in the hot market.
Good, exactly.
That's my point.
This business gets very, very expensive.
Got $150,000 on this table.
Looks like a whole entire inventory, but it's only $150,000.
Now imagine what a real, real inventory looks like and how much that costs.
Cost of goods in this business is freaking endless.
You can never, ever have enough inventory.
You can never, ever have enough money.
One table, $150,000.
I'm going to tell you about my favorite piece from this whole entire crowd right here.
So it would probably be this big pilot Mojave Desert from IWC.
Again, I've mentioned it many times before.
I think one of the best brands that you can buy for under $10,000 is without a doubt IWC
and the new Mojave Deserts that they're doing with that desert sand color, Mojave Desert color.
I think it's absolutely sick.
But yeah, this is the stuff that just comes in, comes out, feeds the families,
turns over.
We need more and more of this.
We can never, ever, ever get enough.
We're always, always behind.
As many of them come in is as many of them go out.
All right, let's go grab these two watches downstairs.
Client's interested in a GMT Master.
It's either going to be a Batgirl or a Pepsi.
Now the Pepsi is not your everyday Pepsi.
It's a Conjar Pepsi, which obviously means it's a lot more rare,
but that also means there's a lot more money to be spent.
So good morning.
We got two of the highly desired GMT Master models,
probably the two most popular in the world.
This is just example based.
I don't know if he's going to want to spend what this costs for the Conjar,
but obviously everybody knows, love this and I love this.
So we're going to take some pictures and that's about it.
Got to fill a couple of orders.
Like I said earlier, find some links.
I don't know if any of this is mine.
I don't think it is because I'm having a slow, slow week.
Your boy got to work hard today, in other words.
So let's go.
Remember that 5296G I took in?
I sold it to this guy who claimed to be a dealer.
So he calls me yesterday.
He's like, yo, my boy is at Patek right now.
They can't get the back off the watch.
It's 22 days.
Okay, like what do you want me to do?
He's like, it's 135.
They send it out.
Like I'll pay that.
I don't care.
But where do we go when they open the back and something's not right?
I was like, well, why are you assuming something's wrong with it?
There's nothing wrong with it.
Went through our inspection because it did go out the jewelry before we sent it out.
Gives me a call back.
He's like, yo, it's at my boy's jeweler now.
He's going to open the back.
I'm going to give you a call back later today if something's wrong,
but just don't **** me on this.
Like it's one of my first deals and they can't even get the back off the watch.
Something's wrong.
He's like, I know you guys have a 30-day return policy and a two-year warranty.
I was like, yeah, we don't have 30-day return policy.
Two-year warranties for retail clients.
You wanted the dealer price.
You got the dealer price.
Why do they need to take the back off the watch?
You want to be authenticated.
There's a service paper from Patek.
Exactly.
And it was been serviced in 2023.
He could kick rocks.
It's ridiculous.
Exactly.
So the dealer never called me back and didn't hear anything from him.
That really makes me think, was there anything even wrong with this watch?
Or did he just want to return it to get some money back?
Had a dealer who sent me links for a watch that we ordered.
And the problem was the pin size were different.
So I go through the book, just trying to figure out maybe if we have some loose.
No, no.
We got additional links sent for the watch because the guy didn't include them.
It was short.
You could easily tell it was short.
But the problem is the pins are a little too large.
We usually have them on site here where we could try to make up for that.
What do they look like, Dom?
Are they smaller?
Yeah, but will they go into a different one that we have here?
No, no.
Just the pins.
The links are fine.
So the problem is the pins are too big for this one.
The one that we have.
Realistically, I mean, there's not much else you can do.
The problem is we have the links that they sent us are the old ones.
So the old ones, they didn't have the cap that the AP links do have.
So when you unscrew them, there's a little cap that comes up in the pin.
So you use the pusher to take the pin out.
The issue is the ones we have are full links and the full links are too thick.
I'm in a big pickle right now.
I got it.
I got to run.
What's the pickle?
Huh?
Dude, freaking screws don't fit on the links.
And we don't have none of the skinnier screws.
The dude's expecting the watch.
I went through the whole link book and all.
They don't fit through the...
I did have a bunch of screws, actually, with Natalie.
Where?
She should have them.
There's like a whole box of extra screws and stuff.
We'll see.
So what did you just bring me?
Um, a Lange.
Yellow gold.
Um, I want to learn a little bit about it today.
That's why I'm here.
I'm here to learn about this watch.
What Lange is it?
Uh, I don't know.
A Lange 1.
It's beautiful.
I actually really like that watch.
I love the strap on that.
But this is a Lange 1.
No way.
1984.
This is the one that has...
The easiest way to tell is the closed back.
This is the one they inaugurated the line with.
They did this.
They did a Saxonia.
They did a Cabaret.
And they did a Portland Marie Turbio.
This is the very first one that they made.
That's wild that we have that in here.
Just chilling.
Yeah.
Look at the patina on it.
So what does something like this go for?
I know I could see it.
It's like bronzing a little.
Like it has a little brown...
The only other one I found online was 69,000.
That's crazy.
That's clean though.
Super clean.
I definitely want to make this situation right.
Because I don't want to have to go through waiting.
And making the client wait longer and longer and longer.
If you find something around your way...
I'm looking in the watch community too.
But if something comes your way, just shoot me a text.
We have a few Pandas in stock.
The one that I sent you was a 22.
It's in really good condition.
It's basically...
If I wasn't an honest man, I would tell you that it was new.
You know, it's really good.
It's really good, bro.
We'll see if we can put those two together.
Okay, sounds good, bro.
Sounds good.
Okay, bro.
Talk to you soon.
I appreciate it.
Take care, man.
Okay, bro.
Bye.
So there's an Instagram DMer calling in for a...
Originally, he was thinking about a 36 millimeter.
But I know this guy.
He's about 6'5", 6'6".
Very big boned gentleman.
So 36 millimeter, I'm just straight up honest.
It's not going to work for him.
So yeah, we're looking...
We only have a Conjure stamp.
Date just swimbled in stock.
That is a 41.
I could source a normal 41.
But it's not going to be worth it at the price that I'll source it for.
Because a lot of dealers are asking crazy money for them right now.
But the Conjure one we have is actually a pretty fair deal.
2022 stickers and everything.
It's got that Conjure stamp in the back.
Pretty special, obviously.
Giving us gifts from the Sultan of Oman to his employees, friends, family.
Things like that.
And that actually ties in with the person who called me.
Because he owns a few halal places or halal restaurants in the area.
So get that closed up.
Dom, what are you selling?
Besides for a sweater.
A sweater.
I just sold two Rolex bluesies.
Two-tone bluesie.
He just sent the wire.
Look at that.
Hold on.
Two bluesies.
He's actually buying three of them.
It's kind of cool though.
So what he's doing is he's buying one for each of his sons and himself.
So his birth year.
First son's birth year.
Second son's birth year.
So I just got both sons' birth years.
So 2017 and 2020.
So I got both of them.
Starting pretty young, I guess.
We've all been programmed, unfortunately, to believe things that just aren't true.
The world's a lie.
And we've been brainwashed.
Shirt is priceless because I'm wearing it.
You feel me?
Shorts, you know, these are little $20 hala.
Gap fitness baby.
And I got the Romero's on.
The most comfortable shoe in the world.
Shout out to Nike.
The little cut socks because everybody's wearing the tall socks.
I went short socks on them.
You feel me?
And I bought lunch today for anybody wondering how my diet's going.
Chicken and rice, bro.
I'd be crazy to eat anything else.
These people that just order every single day of their life, it's going to catch up with them.
And I didn't do my push-ups because I missed 10 o'clock because Dom distracted me.
So now I have to do 10 for 10 and then 10 at 11.
So I got to do 20 now.
No, every hour we're doing 10 push-ups to remain.
Because what people don't tend to talk about in this office is
sitting here will get you 100% out of shape.
Yeah, you want to join?
It will equal 90 push-ups a day.
You'll notice a big difference in your chest.
I recommend you do it.
And if you don't do it, then that's fine.
Look at the form.
I love it.
When you do good form, you feel each one.
You know, the people that bang out 50, they don't go all the way down.
Got to do some push-ups and get the blood flowing a little bit.
Yeah, cool.
And when they make a golf one, let me know.
When they what?
When they make a golf one.
I can have them make a golf one for you.
You can?
Would you wear it?
Yeah, we'll wear it.
This size?
Yeah.
The straps that we ordered on money.
The little velvet strap.
Oh, the padded 5204 round dial 2024.
Yeah.
Did you manage to get one?
Only 23 so far.
Right.
He's a stickler at 28.
So, the guy has it sold at 250 or 255.
But he wants a 2024.
I'm being offered a prototype 3448 red dot.
Do you know what that is?
Yes, I am.
Yes, I do.
They want one and a half million.
It's sold less in auction, I think, for 1.1.
All right, in regards to the stuff you're being offered,
because we get offered a lot of stuff.
2022, 2023.
What is that?
Just a new 5271 ruby.
Oh, baby.
That is pretty.
Yeah.
What is it?
News to you?
No, it's just pretty.
Just a cool 600,000.
I have lots of shipments going out today.
So, I just came down here to make sure everything is okay and ready to go.
Have this ladies Nautilus 7010 model on the rose gold bracelet.
I actually discontinued dial.
I have this ladies Aquanaut with the black dial.
The hearse to the 5167.
This 5510ST New Royal Oak with the white dial.
Vacheron World Time in rose gold.
The blue dial Sky Dweller.
And the green dial Vacheron Dual Time.
Matches my jacket today.
What do you guys think about the green alu dial for the Vacheron?
Two Pepsis.
Had to take links off one and put them on another,
because this one is getting sold.
Still make sales around here.
The fire is in the air.
We're going to have a meeting today.
Strategy and planning for the next quarter.
Because we get into these rhythms where things are like really good for like a week or two.
And then we get a little lazy.
Not lazy like people are not trying or don't care.
It's just that I think there's wasted effort and wasted time.
That makes sense.
So, we're going to try to re-streamline that process.
Therefore, hopefully we'll be more successful as a company.
And our team can grow and our team can flourish.
And I can play more golf.
It's been a brutal summer.
And it is also the last quarter.
This is where we kick it in gear and make it count to see how the year ends.
It's been a tough year overall.
Hoping to finish on top.
Meanwhile, as always, I ask that you like, comment, share, subscribe.
Do all those wonderful things that help this channel grow.
We'll see you on the next one.
