We visit Philippe and Elisabeth Dufour, along with their daughter Daniela, to discover the 11 watches they have curated to raise money for their charitable organization, the Philippe and Elisabeth Dufour Foundation. The watches include timepieces from Ludovic Ballouard, ArtyA, Magana, Carl F. Bucherer, Miki Eleta, Jacob & Co., Berney, Moritz Grossmann, Bovet, Havid Nagan, and Philippe Dufour himself. Discover these spectacular watches and the stories behind them in this exclusive video filmed in the watchmaker’s workshop in the heart of the Vallee de Joux.
It's exceptional, it's a concerto for six repetition watches.
Two years ago, to start the foundation, according to me,
I had made a watch with a special dial,
which brought us money to start the foundation.
Then our idea was to say,
every two years we will try to make a watch at the auction.
We received it, but I just discovered it now,
this watch, it's extraordinary.
Here we are, the babies of the auction,
which took place at Philips on May 10th and 11th in Geneva,
at the President's Hotel.
How does it feel to see them like this?
I knew that such a brand was giving a watch,
but I hadn't seen it yet.
So it's great, it's a pleasure.
It's a pleasure, an independent watch too.
Mickey is part of the Academy of Independent Watches,
and when we asked him, he said right away,
oh yes, yes, yes.
Here it's a pleasure too,
this brand, Marc Hammond, which is extraordinary,
Grossmann,
in terms of quality, it's top, it's beautiful.
This is Bernard, who lives not far from here, in La Paix,
and this watch is a chronograph with a quarter.
And here, this is also an extraordinary watch,
made by Iman Harpa.
And it's his wife who made the butterfly wings.
Yes, the butterfly wings.
The chronograph is fabulous.
Depending on the place, the rays of light, it lives.
What do you have here?
This is a Magana watch.
It's a person I met two or three years ago in Duvin,
who had given me a watch,
and then we made the request,
and he made available to us a superb chronograph watch.
This is Mr. Avid Naghan, in California,
who gave us the honour of giving us a chronograph.
I'm really discovering it.
I had already heard of this brand,
but I had never had a piece from them in my hands,
and it's really very beautiful.
Very beautiful, very well done.
Here he has a Carl Bucherer.
A superb automatic watch,
with the Fondation logo,
and on the dial as well.
A Beauvais.
A story of friendship.
This watch is also superb.
Seven days of work.
And then there's the Fondation logo.
Yes, that's beautiful.
I really liked it,
and I said to my mum,
it's pretty, it's very pretty.
So my mum looked at it and said,
I'm going to buy it for my dad.
We arrive, I think we're lucky,
we show up at the auction.
For us, it's unexpected.
