"America First Trade Policy" – det var president Trumps löfte redan från dag ett. Under sina första 100 dagar tillbaka i Vita huset för en andra mandatperiod, hur har han och hans administration hanterat Kinas utbredda orättvisa handelsmetoder? Låt oss ta en närmare titt.

All we want is fairness. We just want a level playing field. We don't want to take advantage.
We've been having massive deficits with China.
So China is exporting their policies to us.
They decimated our manufacturing sector.
Trucks are not just a tool, but a central part of the Trump administration's policy.
The goal is to handle China's overcapacity in exports,
rebuild the USA's own production capacity for important products,
and secure sustainable supply chains.
I know it's what President Trump believes. He believes three things.
One, that it is a good source of revenues.
Two, it protects our important industries and the employees.
And three, he's added a third leg to the stool and he uses it for negotiating.
The USA has imported 145% of Chinese goods, including 20% due to China's role in the fentanyl trade.
China responded with 125% of American goods.
The two largest economies in the world are together for almost half of the global economy.
The USA accounts for 28%, while China accounts for nearly 20%.
If we don't make a deal, we'll set it. We'll just set the number, you know.
The Trump administration publicly lays the foundation for an agreement with China.
The president says he has already spoken to the Chinese leader.
In addition, a South Korean media company reported that highly-employed Chinese officials
visited the USA's finance department on the morning of April 24.
Despite this, Beijing insists that there are no active talks between China and the USA.
China claims to be open to negotiations, but only if the USA first abolishes its 145% tolls.
At the same time, China has warned other countries to cooperate with the USA against Beijing.
Since April 2, what Trump called the Liberation Day, when tolls were introduced against American trading partners,
over 100 countries have contacted Washington to negotiate.
So far, Washington has emphasized non-tariff fraud during trade talks with its partners,
with plans to deal with the problem that Chinese products are often led through third-party countries before they reach the USA.
The tactic has previously been used diligently to bypass the USA's tolls on Chinese goods,
in addition to restoring fair trade with the USA,
the Trump administration also aims to play a larger role in leading and reforming international institutions.
America First seeks to expand U.S. leadership in international institutions like the IMF and the World Bank.
The IMF needs to call up countries like China that have pursued globally distorted policies and opaque currency practices for many decades.
Finance Minister Besant admitted that it is absurd to treat China as a developing country,
when you look back at President Trump's first day in the White House and his directive,
America First Trade Policy, is a review of China's unfair trade methods, one of Washington's highest priorities.
