This is John. John is kind, smart, and loves playing with his friends.
But there's one thing John is really afraid of. The dark.
He always keeps the nightlight on and never goes outside once the sun goes down.
He's never even been on a camping trip.
One sunny morning, John's neighbor friends, Jimmy and Lily, were getting ready for a camping adventure.
Want to come with us? Jimmy asked, excited.
Lily smiled and said, it'll be so much fun. We'll roast marshmallows, tell stories, and sleep under the stars.
John's eyes widened. Camping. With the dark. And wild animals? He thought.
He was nervous. Really nervous. But he didn't want to miss the fun with his friends.
So after thinking a little, John said yes.
With his backpack packed and a flutter in his tummy, John joined Jimmy's family on the trip.
The campsite was amazing. Tall trees swayed in the breeze, birds chirped, and everyone was smiling.
We're camping in the forest where the trees stand tall. We're outdoors and having fun.
We pitch our tents under the stars so bright. Campfire's ready. The mood's just right.
Camping in the great outdoors where the fun never ends. There's so much more.
We'll make s'mores, tell stories, and play in the wild. We're having the best day.
The fire is crackling. The marshmallows toast. We gather round and make a happy toast.
Woodland creatures peek from trees so tall. Deer, raccoons, and owls. We see them all.
Camping in the great outdoors where the fun never ends. There's so much more.
We'll make s'mores, tell stories, and play in the wild. We're having the best day.
We hear the owls hoot and the creek's soft song. The stars above are shining all night long.
Exploring the trails, we roam and roam in the wilderness. We feel at home.

John helped set up the tent, made s'mores by the fire, and enjoyed the day with his friends.
Then, night came. Everything turned quiet. The forest was dark.
Jimmy and Lily were excited to explore a little trail nearby.
Come with us, John, they said. John gulped and nodded.
With his friends beside him and the stars shining above, John walked through the shadows.
He listened to the sounds of crickets and the soft wind in the trees.
And you know what? It wasn't scary at all. It was peaceful. Magical, even.
That night, John slept outdoors in a real tent. No nightlight needed.
The next day, John felt different, braver, happier. Not so afraid of the dark anymore.
Sometimes facing your fears with good friends by your side helps you discover just how brave you really are.
