New York-based Tianyuan Performing Arts is now touring in Taiwan.
Several state authorities and organizations in Taiwan have received a number of threatening e-mails.
In these, it is said that there will be shooting or bombing if Tianyuan's performances are not staged.
Until April 4, a total of 13 such threats have been reported.
Taiwan's criminal police have formed a working group with several authorities to investigate the incident.
They traced the source of the e-mails to an area around a Huawei Research Institute in China's northwestern city of Xi'an.
According to the police in Taiwan, the e-mails may have been sent by people with connections to the Chinese technology Huawei.
They did not rule out the possibility that the e-mails may have been sent from the Chinese Communist Party's cyber army, which is based in the area.
Tianyuan is dedicated to reviving China's 5,000 years of traditional culture.
The performance also depicts the ongoing persecution of the spiritual group Falun Gong in China, something that Beijing has tried to hide.
The threatening e-mails in Taiwan are some of about a hundred that have been directed at the company since last year when it toured in the United States and Europe.
Tianyuan and the broader Falun Gong community in the United States, a sort of endgame scenario.
We've seen large-scale attacks in a campaign by the New York Times with no less than 10 articles attacking Tianyuan.
And we've seen horrifying bomb threats, death threats, rape threats.
On March 30, Tianyuan was attacked by a bomb threat just hours before their last performance in Claremont, California.
The venue was immediately evacuated.
A similar evacuation was carried out at John F. Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on February 20.
The bomb threat, just like the one directed at other theaters, turned out to be false.
As an answer to a question from NTD about the bomb threat at Kennedy Center, White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt condemned such actions,
since the president places importance on art and culture.
The Department of State of the United States also condemned Beijing's campaign against Tianyuan.
In a statement recently to The Epoch Times, the department says that its annual international report on freedom of religion
documents incidents of disturbances against Falun Gong practitioners and Tianyuan performing arts in many countries.
