Tariffs on China are up, and imports to the United States are down. Ocean freight company Flexport says container bookings from China to the United States are down by as much as 60 percent.

Shipments are down as well at the Port of Los Angeles. Its executive director, Eugene Seroka, said, "Essentially all shipments out of China for major retailers and manufacturers have ceased."

Retailers of all sizes are warning that there could be product shortages or price hikes, as executives from Target, Walmart, and Home Depot met with President Donald Trump to discuss tariffs.
