How you doing? Got the jacket. It's November. It's gotten cooler. We're going to New Haven
where Porba and I first met. Got a few speeches but we're also going to go to some of our favorite
spots and take our boys there. Hey! They fell. Look at him.
Hey guys. We're headed back to Yale to New Haven. I'm giving some speeches
but we're taking the family to where Porba and I met. So a lot of sentimental places to visit.
Come on with us.
What's the score boss? Not good.
12-10 that game. So we got a few hits in and we had a good day walking around. We went to
the old apartment where Porba and I met about 13 years ago. That was pretty cool. And now we're
off to the Federalist Society event. It's good to be back in New Haven. It was fun to see the
places where we used to hang out. We went to dinner last night with the Chapti group that
we used to get together with. We're going to Mia's now. We might get a meal in at Scappo.
Some of our favorite spots. See if we can't get some New Haven style pizza while we're here.
My favorite used to be Bar. Everybody likes Sally's and Pepe's and you know they got a
good day for us too. So a lot of fun and good living old times with me and Porba. We'll go
see her now. Let's do it. Everybody just keep making your way towards the front of the room
and we're going to go ahead and get started. Please join me in welcoming my good friend,
my co-author, arguably the most influential thinker in the American conservative movement,
Vivek Ramaswamy. He's a man who knows a little thing or two about being courageous and you know
him and his wife Amy who introduced me last night at the event. I want to thank you guys for your
mentorship over the years. You are you know I think there's if you care about somebody you
tell them the truth. If you care about yourself you tell them what they want to hear and you're
committed to caring about the people you love and mentor by giving them the truth even when it's
hard. And Jed and Amy both I think you embody that in a way that a rare few mentors actually do
and the impact you've had on our lives by pushing us to be the best version of ourselves has allowed
us to achieve whatever successes we have since the time we met you. So it's good to see you
and thanks for the warm welcome everybody here. Good evening everyone. Thank you all for coming
tonight. I'm Amy Chua, a professor at Yale Law School. Please join me in welcoming the brilliant
utterly unique force of nature that is Vivek Ramaswamy.
Another round of applause for Amy Chua. How about that? I'm going to take you on the road Amy.
That's probably the kindest introduction I've received and I was not planning to talk about
this because you know that was not the usual introduction. You actually opened up to the story
in the apartment. Thank you guys. God bless you and your families. It's good to be back at Yale
and may God bless our United States of America. Don't stop fighting for this country guys. I'm
proud of you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you guys. All right. Great talk at the Federalist
Society. Good dinner afterwards with old friends we hadn't seen in a long time. Poor man and I,
we enjoy this. It's good to be back. Same town where we met. See our old spots. A good day well
spent. We actually have to go to New York tomorrow. We can't stay in New Haven. I've
got ABC at 9 a.m. Sunday morning show. Taking the family over there and then we'll head out
home from there. So we'll see you guys tomorrow. Hey. I just had a great weekend in New Haven
with the Porvo and the family. We went to a lot of our favorite spots. Had another dinner that
went late last night with a bunch of old friends here. Doing an interview in Times Square on ABC
with Jonathan Karl and then we're going to fly back out of New York heading home this evening.
It's cool to come back to places you were in earlier stages of your life. I actually used to
love New Haven. I still do but somehow I think it's really been growing up and having kids over
the last 10 years makes me come back and say one day is about the maximum of what I'd like to spend
in this place. But we had a good one day here nonetheless. So off to New York and next step from there.
