One of Beethoven's shortest piano sonatas, this miniature gem in G major is an early work, despite its publication as Op.49. It was published alongside an equally compact work in G minor, but is thought to have been written during Beethoven's visit to Prague in 1796, one of the few times he ventured away from Vienna.

The video was captured by Simone Schlegel in Switzerland. It was one of those moments when I wished my lens was a lot wider than 16mm. Don't get me wrong, I love our Fujimon XF 16mm F1.4 R WR, it's one of my favourites, but I wanted to get more of the sky and the river, but it wasn't safe to go down into the riverbed, so I had to stay where I was, and what you see was the best I could get out of our equipment....
