With love for God and deep respect for the temple, Jesus courageously drove out the merchants and money changers, teaching everyone that God’s house is a place of prayer—not business. On a bright, sunny day in a bustling city, Jesus walked into the Grand Temple, a place
where people came to pray and feel close to God.
The temple was filled with tall, colorful pillars that sparkled in the sunlight, and
the air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers.
But something was wrong.
Instead of peaceful prayers, there were loud voices and the clinking of coins.
In one corner, a group of merchants had set up their stalls, selling all kinds of animals
for sacrifices.
There were fluffy little lambs with big, curious eyes, squawking chickens flapping their wings,
and even some chubby pigs snuffling around.
The merchants were shouting, trying to sell their animals at high prices, and people looked
worried and confused.
Jesus watched the scene unfold, and his heart felt heavy.
He knew the temple was meant to be a special place for everyone to connect with God, not
a noisy marketplace.
With a determined look on his face, he stepped forward.
"'This is a house of prayer!' he called out, his voice strong and clear.
Suddenly, Jesus began to clear the temple.
He gently pushed over the tables where the merchants were counting their coins, sending
coins rolling across the floor like shiny marbles.
The merchants gasped in surprise, their eyes wide as they watched their animals scamper
away.
As the last table fell, the temple felt different.
The noise faded, and a calm, peaceful atmosphere filled the air.
People began to gather around Jesus, their faces lighting up with joy and hope.
They could feel that this was a place for love and kindness, a place where they could
talk to God freely.
And so, on that holy Monday, the temple became what it was meant to be, a beautiful home
for everyone's prayers, filled with smiles and laughter once again.
