Zuckerberg: Facebook Was Forced Into Censoring

Facebook and Instagram were being forced to censor their users and various content by outside pressure including from governments according to meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg now programs for Content moderation transformed into largescale censorship programs beginning around 2016 but especially after the covid-19 outbreak Zuckerberg has been explaining how the different types of censorship on the platforms were not things that he necessarily wanted and this is Raising some eyebrows over just where that pressure for censorship was coming from now some blame has fallen on the third party factchecking companies Zuckerberg noted in his recent announcement for meta that they found that these so-called fact Checkers often had their own political biases and this in turn LED these fact Checkers to often label true stories as false but even some of the fact Checker groups are now saying that their decisions were also being influenced by outside pressure depending on the topic this is especially interesting because it suggests what many of us expected from the get-go many conservatives believe that they were being politically censored that the censorship programs were coming in and unfairly targeting people on just one side of the political aisle and now while it seems the platforms and the groups that were involved are working to avoid the blame and they're saying that the policies were things that were forced on them and if that is the case well this could open up a whole legal channel for people who were censored or to platform since this could involve violations of the Constitution
