hey it's David and I want to make a
video about surrounding yourself with
the truth surrounding yourself with
reminders of deep insights that you have
found in your life surrounding yourself
with it and the reason for this is we
surround ourselves with these insights
these things that we've picked up this
truth these helpful pointers for
ourselves because of our enormous
potential and tendency to forget
them i have noticed this personally in
my own life and I've noticed it with
many clients that I've worked
with we might pick up a a
genuinely
paradigmshifting lifealtering insight
into our into our life and you know how
to stay productive how to get things
done how to go after our goals how to
meet our needs how to be happy and it
will change things
dramatically things will start to work
we'll have new ways of seeing things and
we're treating ourselves better and
moving forward and then what'll happen
is some some event might happen in life
something will happen and it will
distract us it will take us into
maybe you know we we get distracted and
we stop focusing on these insights or we
lose touch with them the reminders are
no longer there and what happens even
though it was a profound insight and it
was massively helpful because of the
distraction because we are no longer
around them they get memory hold we
forget
them so these insights that we get in
life they are not that common and they
are
like solid 24 karat gold they're like
diamonds they need to be and it is like
mining for them we live our life and we
have challenging experiences and we go
through all sorts of pain and usually
it's not until we go through that pain
and deal with those challenges that we
find the insight so isn't it strange
then that when we do get the insights
and we have them these new ways of
thinking about things that we are prone
to forget them and that's a great shame
and I'll give you example of you know
insights come in all different shapes
and sizes and forms but personally a few
insights um that I have found I'll give
you examples one
is everything that ever gets done gets
done one thing at a time now there was a
point in my past when I was painfully
unaware of that i was trying to do
everything at the same time of course
you can't do that nothing gets done
another example would be focusing on
starting leads to finishing and of
course I was very much focused on how am
I going to get this finished god there's
so much to
do and of course that leads to overwhelm
and inaction it's focusing on starting
when am I going to start and just only
focusing on starting leads to finishing
things a third example here final
example big insight for me personally
guilt-free play is the secret to success
of course I was living from a paradigm
of working harder being more organized
getting disciplined pushing myself was
how you achieve success and I lived from
that truth for a long time and it didn't
work so the insight that I got through
all that lived experience and all that
pain was "Oh my god I'm totally wrong on
this i have a new aha moment here."
Now you too in your own life may have
had these types of insights and a part
of you as you're listening to me talk
will probably remember I did have an
insight something shifted in me
something started to work there a while
back and but it's gone the impact of it
hasn't lasted it's it's no longer living
within you and that's because of the of
this video the the topic of this video
is our tendency to forget them because
of distractions or we go back into old
patterns it's so subtle we can we can
lose contact with these so the idea of
today's video is to write them down be
around them don't lose contact with
these insights that you get another
example would be inquiry so let's say
you find a limiting belief uh a guilt
narrative if I'm not good enough
something's wrong with me or I can't do
that thing or something like
that inquiry is a very profound personal
process where you go in and you start
challenging a lot of these narratives is
that true can I know for sure it's
true how do I feel when I believe this
etc etc and so it's a process and Baron
Kadia even calls it the work so it's
it's like there is some input in our
behalf and invariably when you do it you
will find new ways of thinking about
yourself new ways of seeing situations
but then the great shame is well okay I
I found they're called turnarounds a new
way I found a new way of looking at this
situation it makes me feel a lot
better but then we lose contact with it
so have a place in your journal or in
your bedroom or in your bathroom or
someplace where you are around these
ideas and that's called taking
responsibility for your mindset is is to
be influenced by the truth not by the
old self-limiting beliefs or narratives
and it it will be such a help to you
um not losing contact with these ideas
and these truths that you find these
insights means that they will benefit
you um much much more and you won't have
these ups and downs these highs and lows
all the time which is just basically
fundamentally to do with losing contact
with the truth of who you are and in my
opinion my experience the truth is
actually very very loving
most people think that uh the truth is
uh the truth will piss you off or will
annoy you or people can't handle the
truth or the truth is
painful really it's the lies that are
covering up the truth that are painful
for us but when we actually get to the
truth it makes us feel alive it makes us
feel grateful it makes us feel
enthusiastic about
life and it does take work to get rid of
all the junk that's in the way of seeing
that so that work don't let it go don't
let it be wasted once you find whatever
it is that you did the work on to get to
that truth protect it be around it
preserve it and that will be a massive
gamecher for you even to the point where
you could say like at the end of a month
you can look back and say "What
insights was I able to uncover for
myself and my personal life this
month?" Okay highlight them underline
them doubly underline them keep them
safe write them down somewhere and keep
returning to them and then challenge
anything that seems to um undermine them
okay you can do that and at the end of
the year you might have had who knows a
dozen deeply profound insights that you
found about yourself ones that you are
protecting and staying in contact
with keep that in mind i really think
that's a useful concept for most of us
and uh it could be a big game changer
for you protect the insights that you
find in your life and be surrounded by
them hope that's a useful video if you
