So many things happening in our house building project, such as, flooring on the second floor are almost completed, electrical works in our main house are installed and the retaining wall as well as the pathway to our dirty kitchen is in progress. We still have to decide where the two second floor bedrooms will be. Continue to follow us on our house building project.

so I've just come up for my first look
in our new uh section of the house
build and uh that's our temporary wall
behind us with the office and our
temporary
bedroom uh this is our will be verer out
here on that way that's out
there and we're going to leave this open
here these trees are actually fairly big
they provide good
shade um but you won't have a view from
here so I'm sort of rethinking what I
was have what we were
planning is
uh this wall here will come out to the
as you can see we've done the window so
in hindsight maybe I could have just
done the wall there but the window went
in there before we did the wall so it
was always planned to have that the full
width 5.8 m I think for that
room that could have been a bit smaller
it wouldn't have mattered probably but
anyway that's that needs to come out so
this will needs to be rebuilt on the
edge there once we get the new flooring
in and uh pain is this will be one
bedroom that was be a second bedroom
there i'm actually thinking that what we
could maybe
do is
uh this is 3.5 m have that for the depth
of the bedroom and this area here is
about 4.8 or 5 about 5
m that could probably do two bedrooms
now there won't be big bedrooms but we
don't have people currently staying um
we have had his mom and brother come up
and uh might have other guests coming
mates from Australia might come over um
so we don't have people permanently
living in those bedrooms so I don't
think we need to make them big so we
were always planning to do like a larger
one and a smaller one
um and be able to house a few people in
there so like a double bunk queen side
you know double bed size with double
bunk maybe in the big
room maybe just a single bunk in the
other room
maybe king single something like that
that's And of course it's very hot here
so we want
more space uh for the outdoor area and
we get really nice breezes as you can
see we're on we're in the hills and we
get breeze coming down across here
coming from that direction up this
valley down here we got bridge coming
through this
way i'm actually thinking that we might
be able to do a wall here at 3 and 1/2 m
to the center oh sorry just
past and actually do the rooms this way
which means that we could have a
possible five windows if we went this
this way if we go the other way you'd
only have one two three well maximum
four you can do four windows one the
side there that had two walls there
another two walls there this should work
it means only 2 m rounded there but then
this one becomes our gathering area i
guess
is it too late to put a point in this
corner
yeah we might do it just in case just in
case we go one day oh we want to change
we'll put the lounge there well then
we'd miss having one here so anywhere
here
okay yeah that's good
if we did that then otherwise you'd have
leaves going all the way here so yeah
let's just put one there probably never
get used but you never know it might
one
day yeah all right that's good
bye huh bye
madam it's still alive without the head
you killed the snake
[Music]
hit my head
so looks like the uh builders have
pretty much finished the welding here
we've bought uh
12 80 mm plywood so far the Santa
Clara and and once I think seeing as
most of the welding is completed now
that will mean
that we can also do the floors
downstairs the boys on the outside here
was out here continuing with this um
retaining wall for the back pathway
now this we're going to actually have
like a breakfast bar out the on this so
we'll be extended out with a bit of
storage under
um but the first thing is to build up
this wall first and then there'll be
stairs going down from somewhere here
and those are the stairs going up to the
second floor so good day lunchtime
Friday we had uh last night I think it
was about 7:00 maybe something like that
power went out for
like 2 hours or
something
um we left the air conditioner off last
night and it was actually pretty good
nice and cool last night just with the
windows open and the fan on
um
today the uh the builders have started
putting our floor down here in our
second floor so we've actually bought uh
12 pieces of ply of the 20 or so that we
need to put in so we get some more next
week we'll get another six at least next
week maybe we could get the eight um so
as you might be able to see over there
uh we're just
shy of the
edge see
there uh so
probably two more
sheets will do it there but it does need
something for the I'm not quite sure how
the how all the plans to do the stairs
stairs are going to come up uh here
along the side and there'll be a an
entrance here
somewhere to get downstairs to the
kitchen area and that that's
outside so uh with these 12 pieces we
have we can do the nine here and get
this available to us this open area it's
very nice out here nice
view of course hills all around us which
makes it hot in here but we do get
breezes pretty well it' be great to be
right on top of the hill one of these
but anyway um but we do get reasonable
breezes here often not all the
time that's uh so the the national
highway is on the other side of
that mountain range down there runs
north
south and the sea is probably about
10 10 to 15 km that way so obviously we
get seab breeze this comes up over and
the river's down the bottom here so it
blows up probably off the river and
through all the trees here in the shade
and you know we get that we get that as
well yeah we just had to move my um I
got power coming in i've taken it
through the window there power from my
small solar system
that keeps the Starlink going and gives
me a fan and a light when we have power
blackouts which is almost every day at
least every second day pretty much where
you're sure to get at least
one so in the final scheme of things
this wall here is going to come back in
line with the
pole and I'm just trying to work out
uh whether we do the rooms we were going
to do this way or whether we do the
rooms this
way and
uh just trying to not sure which is
going to be the
best it'll give us gives us pretty much
the same room either
way it's just that it will probably
harness the breezes coming this way
better if we go this other way which
might be a good thing i see too the
other thing they've been doing is um
rendering the walls of the This is for
the pantry down here so they're
rendering those walls at the moment
today as
well looking good plenty happening
