One day in 2017 after RiddimRyder Photography and I finished a day long explore of an abandoned psychiatric institution we decided to go and check out an abandoned church in town.
We arrive to find an easy way in, except there were two young girls sitting right by the way in. So we wait for them to leave so we can make a nice quiet and stealthy way in without being seen or hear.
The girls leave and we slip in undetected, quietly get out our gear and start getting our photos
Within minutes we hear what sounds like a herd of elephants running into the church, except the elephants are about 10-15 young kids who are determined to be as loud and rowdy as they have ever been in their lives
RiddimRyder Photography and I debate leaving but we opt to stay since these kids are so loud, it must not be a big deal to be in here.
So, we photograph the main level as pieces of ceiling fall to our heads as the kids jump up and down on the floor above
Then we move up to the chapel and have to struggle to get shots without a dozen kids in the background.
These kids are loud, they are yelling and screaming and throwing things and dropping things, they ask us who we are, they ask what we're doing, they ask if we want to see them climb up to the balcony and down into the floor.
I capture a classic photo of RiddimRyder Photography as he tries to work with a dozen kids collecting all around.
Not long after I take this photo, things are oddly quiet and back to normal, we figure the kids must have left.....
NOPE, they were so loud that they attracted the local police and they were all being questioned at the main entrance by 2-3 police officers. Then one of them notices us and asks us what we're doing....we say we were just here taking pictures for fun when all the kids came in. The baffled and confused police officers checked our identities and confirmed we were of no harm and just asked us to kindly leave, which we did...gladly!
