good morning guys welcome back to my
YouTube channel so I'm going to try this
vlogging out and about thing again today
I'm going to take you somewhere and show
you around it's one of my favorite
places to go especially when the weather
is so nice and that is Bushy Park and
Bushy Park is located in Kingston upon
10 and it is actually a royal park but I
think it's one of those parks that's
quite often overlooked and I think it's
about time it got the credit that it
really does deserve so Bushy Park is
actually a royal park it was actually
part of Hampton Court Palace which is
obviously where famously Henry VIII
lived and it was his hunting ground and
even today there are still lots and lots
of deer in Bushy Park so if you do enjoy
this kind of video from me let me know
in the comments below leave me a like
and if you love my channel subscribe to
my YouTube channel and without further
ado let's go for a little walk around
Bushy Park
right so just arrived and um we're in
one of the car parks and there are two
sections in Bushy Park where basically
dogs are not allowed and it's all sort
of enclosed and that's where we're going
to go first so you can kind of walk
through them there's no dogs there's no
cycling allowed there's no scooters or
anything and it's all planted up really
beautifully so that's where we're going
to head first and I will show you around
so currently walking through the
woodland walk um there is a coffee shop
at the beginning very expensive as you
can imagine it is a royal park like I
said next to that there is a huge cafe
where you can get proper meals lunch um
lots of people gather around there and
stuff so it's usually very very busy you
can also get ice creams there and just
little snacks and stuff this place here
is absolutely gorgeous as you can see
it's beautifully planted up no dogs no
cyclists so you can kind of walk around
quite freely if you know what I mean
without worries of being hit by a bike
or having to move out the way for a dog
and um yeah it is stunning
so spring is kind of coming to a close
now usually behind these daffodils all
those trees are kind of blossomed but
they've sort of finished but look how
gorgeous these daffodils are aren't they
beautiful such such a gorgeous color and
they're kind of planted in clumps all
around the woodland walk which is just
beautiful i mean I love them look at
them
i think these are all irises all around
this pond here that is going to look so
beautiful when they all flower and then
what are these yellow flowers i actually
don't know what they are but I really
want them for my pond on the a lotment
plot they are stunning and they are just
all out in full bloom aren't they
gorgeous and I know I am aware that I
say stunning quite a lot someone picked
it up in my last video but these irises
I am super excited to see flower i've
definitely got to come back for them and
then look at the willow tree i do have a
bit of a thing for willow trees i think
they are just beautiful trees
i mean look at that and to think that
this park is free um so you don't have
to pay to come here you don't even have
to pay for parking it's completely free
um and it's just I mean look at it i'm
going to say it again it's
stunning here we go here's our first
little friend that we've met now you're
not actually not allowed to feed the
squirrels it's on the sign as you go in
and I think it's because if you feed the
squirrels they will become ravenous
little beasts who will attack everybody
with a
picnic so obviously throughout the
season there will be more and more
plants to see around here and that's the
one of the things that I love so much
about this park is that all the planting
is so carefully done and it really does
change with every season so there's
always something to see here you don't
normally see it this nice in the
springtime we don't normally have this
nice weather so it's a real treat to see
all the spring planting in this kind of
weather it just makes it look so much
nicer right I found a really exciting
plant here look at the size of these
flowers um let me put it in perspective
that is my hand that is beautiful look
how huge it is what is this then my
first thought was this is this a peony
but I don't think it is it's not the
time of year for them how gorgeous are
these i really shouldn't be touching
them but I can't resist oh I think I can
spot a bigger bush of them over here
let's go and have a little investigation
are they Aelas maybe it's Aelas i know
these are different it's a very similar
pink but these are Aelas for sure
because they got multif flowers i know
Aelas this park is actually really well
known for all of its Aelas and um when
they all start to bloom which they are
starting to now they are like no other
display you've ever seen it is just
beautiful you might be able to see all
the Aelia bushes just around here and
they're all different colors and when
they're all completely in flower
honestly there's nothing like it
remember when I was younger and I used
to come to the the park and people used
to sit here and paint them cuz they are
that beautiful so we got some nice white
ones over here sort of pale pink and
white and just every single color i mean
this one over here you can see that
hasn't even opened yet
such gorgeous flowers and one of my
favorite flowers I think um because when
they all just flower like this I mean
look at this just one bush imagine
having that in your garden oh my
goodness me and then look at the pink in
the
background going to say it again guys
stunning there's no other word to
describe it
oh look i've spied a purple one a purple
one sitting here i think this is an
Aelia as well i've never seen a purple
one like that that is
gorgeous got the magnolia trees here
just starting to open up and flower um
maybe give it a week maybe two weeks and
this will look absolutely stunning or
are they finished am I completely
talking rubbish maybe they've already
flowered and they finished now it feels
like they're going to flower it feels
like it actually let me know in the
comments guys are this is this already
flowered or is this about
to right so we're coming out of the
woodland garden now thank you very much
Dave as you can see the gates close and
this is to keep the deer out I believe
um let the deer out yeah keep the deer
out Dave don't let them in so then we go
across this bit here and you can see it
sort of opens up into Bushy Park
you can have all the doggies and all the
deer can run around i don't think the
deer come over here um certainly not
over here today but then if you keep
walking there's another gated section
over here with another sort of garden
area and that's where we're heading into
now right into the next
section over the river right this is I
cannot tell you how beautiful all this
planting is when it gets going and it
comes into its own there are so many
plants here you wouldn't even be able to
see the dirt in between the dirt the
soil right you're about to see my
favorite plant in the whole of Bushy
Park and it's these but I actually don't
know what they're called um and it
wouldn't be my vlog if I knew what they
were called would it these my kids call
them Jurassic Park plants because the
leaves grow so big it's almost like you
feel like you're walking in dinosaur
time and I'm pretty sure they are from
the dinosaur time um if you know what
they're called leave me a comment below
but they get massive i mean they're
already really big that's my hand in
comparison but they get a lot bigger
than this and they kind of can pay you
as you walk but look how many there are
you can imagine the effect that this has
in fact maybe I will come back and show
you at some point but um yeah let me
know what they're called but these are
my favorite when they get really
big such interesting plants as well look
at these is this the flower from them
that is really unusual isn't it oh god I
love them just not hugely practical to
have in your back garden I suppose cuz
they do get like I said huge like
literally over your
head also I am alternating between my
phone and this camera cuz I know that my
phone is a lot more steady than my
camera so let me know if that works for
you um and I hope it's not too jarring
look at this gorgeous little pond i
think I don't think that's duckweed over
the top i think that's actually pondweed
um I could be wrong but it looks very
very strange doesn't it over the top and
actually it's so dense that the trees
are getting like it's causing shadows in
the trees which makes it look very
strange and eerie actually um kind of
beautiful but bit odd and that is
basically the kind of analysis you're
going to get on this vlog from me of
these places cuz I don't really know
anything about it all I can tell you is
that that is very beautiful but it's
very
odd i can only apologize for all of the
airplanes when they pass over it's very
peaceful here but when they go over they
are very very
noisy you could just hear so many
different birds and also does anybody
else walk through trees with their head
just look like looking up like
this if you don't I urge you to do it
honestly it's a whole new perspective on
the world um but often when I've been
out on walks like this I find my neck is
hurting cuz I've just been walking like
this just something about looking up
ah just give it a go trust me
there's one of my little friends one of
my little friends come see me guys this
park is so big there's no way I'm going
to be able to show you around the whole
thing today but what I am going to do is
take us out of the woodland gardens and
into more of like Bushy Park so the open
park area which is where you've got the
dogs and the cyclists and hopefully the
deer that I don't know if the deer will
be about at this time of year but we
will have a good look for them and um
yeah you'll be able to see why it was
Henry VI's hunting ground because it is
huge and you can just as you're walking
around it those crows are following me
they followed me from the a lotment they
followed me here yeah you can almost
imagine Henry VII riding about hunting
for deer around here
right here we are see all those trees in
a nice long row like that isn't that
absolutely incredible
you can see how formal all the trees are
all the planting is around here and look
what's around them little cages look
it's followed me here as well why do you
keep following me what do you want where
were we before we were very rudely
interrupted by the crows that are quite
literally following me guys what is
happening today anyway got these huge
metal cages around the trees and it's to
stop the deer from rubbing up against
them they rub up against them with their
antlers and they ruin the tree so that's
why all the trees are in little
cages except these ones which they
clearly do not care about so apparently
these ones are not that looks flat to me
what's going on with this
tree oh it's a hollow tree okay so maybe
these trees are um unfortunately dying
oh that's such a shame so perhaps that's
why they've uh that's why they've taken
the cages off of these still it's very
impressive isn't it all the trees in a
row like that isn't that just so like
regal i wonder if they were planted in
the time of Henry VII and they've just
literally taken this long to grow i bet
they were you know I think probably it
was commissioned by Henry VIII i'm just
guessing that's not a fact at all but um
I think it should be there we go there's
a couple of the
deer aren't they beautiful creatures
guys I've just heard a woodpecker i
don't know if it's going to pick up on
camera
did you hear that i'm going to look and
I'm going to look back when I'm editing
and see if you could hear that that but
that was a woodpecker gosh there's so
many different birds here i've seen
parakeetses crows heard a woodpecker and
a ton of birds that I have absolutely no
idea what the name of them are oh this
is nice this is a nice little idea so I
think and I might be wrong but I think
they're trying to make a dead hedge here
so what you do is you put in some sort
of stakes like this some sticks and then
any dead wood material you kind of put
in between and it makes a bit of a dead
hedge and it's great for insects and
nesting birds and things but it's a
great thing to do with sort of if you're
chopping a lot of wood down a lot of
trees down and it looks like that's what
they're trying to do here which I think
will look so much prettier than just the
metal gates here
look it's all my mates again all my
mates have turned
up why do they keep following
me excuse me sir why are you following
me
so we've walked to the other side of
Bushy Park now and um there's a
beautiful lake here and this is by the
second car park which is just behind me
over there and this is basically a huge
lake that you can walk around and it's
absolutely stunning it's full of ducks
there's also more deer around here um I
think they're all sheltering under a
tree just over there um but you're not
allowed to feed them obviously and I
don't really want to get too close to
them if I'm honest they are huge
there they are all sheltering under the
tree just over there what are we going
over are we actually going to go over
gosh no stampede right this is about as
close as I feel comfortable getting and
the camera is zoomed in they're all
sitting under the
shade they're all hot and they're all
taking a little rest under the shade of
the tree
right so we've been here for quite a few
hours now we've had many an ice cream
and an iced coffee and we're going to
head on home i hope you've enjoyed my
little vlog showing you around Bishu
Park one of my favorite royal parks of
London let me know if you like this kind
of vlog if you do I will do some more of
them leave me a comment below let me
know what you think uh give me a like
and subscribe to my channel and I will
see you again back at the a lotment plot
on Monday guys thank you so much for
watching see you next time bye
