Which brand new car I would buy in Australia in April 2025 for about 25 000 Australian dollars
my friends. Welcome back to the channel I'm Dmitry this is Value Cars Australia and I would like to
give you some inspiration and just kind of maybe a suggestion of what I consider value for money
out of what's available on the market right now. Which brands. Before we jump straight into this
I would like to set some ground rules because if you can imagine I need to kind of outline the
boundaries otherwise this can get really really murky very very quickly. So these rules are very
very simple. So first of all I am considering only Australian market. It would take me probably three
months of research if I tried to create an accurate worldwide car offerings view. I hope you understand
why. I'm only considering new cars. I know I know we discussed it many times that it makes absolute
sense to get a one-year-old car two-year-old car that has started depreciating. So please understand
that I'm acknowledging this and if you can look for these brands and can look for a one-year-old
car you probably will get it much much much cheaper. So I'm acknowledging it once and now we're
moving on. We still have to look at brand new cars because in used cars it all depends on how lucky
you are, your power of negotiation, where you are in Australia. There may be cars in Sydney but not in
Adelaide and so on and so forth. New cars only my friends. The numbers that I'm considering are going
to be rounded up to the closest range bracket. So what I'm saying by that is if I'm saying the cars
around $25 000 it means that a brand new car could be $26 000 but I'm still considering it suitable.
So as long as it's close enough and can be rounded up otherwise once again it's a world of hurt that
I'm putting myself into. It would be very very hard to be accurate. We will start from the high range
around $25 000 but in this case we are looking at the car that's positioned at $26 700 Australian
dollars at the moment of recording of this video and this is really boring but very reliable car
from a very very renowned brand Mazda. It's Mazda 2. Mazda 2 is without a doubt one of those horribly
boring competing with Toyota in terms of the boredom but it is a Japanese made car.
Mazda is selling like hot cakes in Australia since like forever. They're competing up there
with Toyota's in terms of how many cars they're selling per year and I do think that it's value
for money. If you can actually fit your ego and your needs into a very small car that is still
towards the higher price range I suppose of this cheaper car category $26 700 is not nothing and
but yeah but it will be Japan made. Support will be probably much better than some of the niche
Chinese brands so you could consider it as the kind of one of this lineup. It's not the car that's
winning in my humble opinion but let's start with it. The next car that I'd like to represent here
for your consideration is Mitsubishi ASX. Mitsubishi ASX also has Japanese roots. I don't
know exactly where Mitsubishis are made but I am tempted to say Japan. Maybe some of the models
are made in Japan some of them are made in Thailand or something like that. You tell me in the comments
down below but it's a decent car and I personally like what it looks like. Yes I do actually like
what it looks like for the price and you can get it in Australia for about $26 000 at the moment
of recording of this video. Close enough to $25 000. I'm rounding up here as I said and I do like the look
of it. What else is there to say? I do think that they probably will give you at this price Mitsubishi
a little bit more of innards a little bit more of electronics and features than Mazda even would
would give it give to you. Okay next one that's very very close here to ASX in the price range
of course but certainly further away in terms of the looks in my humble opinion looks are very
subjective is Hyundai Venue. I think Hyundai Venue is a pass mark bear with me pass mark but I think
it's borderline ugly. It's borderline ugly. I wouldn't want to be whether I'm a retiree whether
I'm a relatively middle-aged dude still wanted to say young but I'm certainly not young. I don't think
it's that attractive personally but it's a quality car from a quality Korean manufacturer. It certainly
would have a little bit more by definition offered to you by Koreans than say Japanese
would give you at this price range. $26 000 is a sensible amount for a Korean slash Japanese car in my
humble opinion if the looks are not deterring you in this particular case. Now we're coming kind of
to a little bit more competitive range. We are coming all the way to Chinese brand Cherry. Cherry
normally I'm a little bit skeptical about in terms of especially aftermarket support from what I'm
seeing with MG. I can't imagine Cherry being substantially different or better but that's
speculative at this stage but it's cheaper. It's $24 000. It's even under the set mark of $25 000.
For $24 000 you can get Cherry Tiggo 4 Pro. All right as a recent video of mine that was showing
to your model that the Cherry Tiggo 4 Pro got updated to in Russia has shown you there is a much
better model that Cherry Tiggo 4 Pro has been replaced to in Russia. Nothing is telling us that
it's exactly what's going to happen in Australia but because that brand is updating
specifically that lineup of vehicles my only reservation here on Cherry Tiggo Pro is the fact
that they might replace it with Cherry Tiggo 4. Just Cherry Tiggo 4. Not Cherry Tiggo 4 Pro.
I was forgetting to mention 4. But this is what you get if you want me to narrate my videos and
you are anti-AI. You know who you are. I'm not holding it against you. It's just a good assertion.
There would be a lot less ranting if you were okay with me narrating this bit with the help of
So anyway Cherry Tiggo 4 Pro is definitely value for money. I drove it myself. I reviewed it for you
and scientifically I think it's solid enough. I think it comes with a warranty. I think the price
is very very very competitive. Very competitive. And you should probably go and take it for a spin
man. Like that's what I would probably do. If you're not afraid that as soon as you buy it
they'll replace it with a new model and you'll feel like you left out. It's up to you mate.
It's up to you. Next contender here is even cheaper. It's MG3. MG3 costs $23,000 in the
bottom of the range model of course for MG. But you will get a lot in it in terms of electronics,
in terms of infotainment, in terms of other kind of stuff. Whatever they packed into it. Go check
their website. I do not want to make this video too long. Why I'm reserved on MG is because of
general experience with them. With their strange handling of the dealerships and aftermarket
support. While I'm speculating about aftermarket quality of Cherry. For MG I know we are owners
of MG ZST and very recently I shared with you quite a few videos about aftermarket, after sales,
I mean support of MG. It's up to you mate. You can go check MG3. Maybe it drives like a dream and
$23,000 is well under our market of $25,000. And maybe if you're a student you really those couple
of grand make difference to you. At this stage I can tell you I would rather work for an extra
month and save some extra money as a student or whatever you're doing. And actually splash out
a couple of extra grand and get something a lot more decent for $26,000. That's what I would do
personally. But for you maybe MG3 because it's cheaper it could attract your attention. I
personally wouldn't buy it but I'm including it here for completeness of the picture and to be
fair to all brands. Finally here the cheapest of them all of course in the base model of course in
the base bare bones model is Kia Picanto. Kia Picanto you can get in April 2025 for $21,340
Australian dollars. Looks like drive away maybe there are some on-road costs I don't know. I know
it's also subject to you negotiating with Kia. I have no idea by the way how movable they are on
price. They may not be at all. What do I think my friends? Well to not to recap now everything I
spoke long enough. I think it's a fairly not super crazy rich set of choices that you have around
that mark of $25,000. But I've given you six. I've given you six cars. Out of them all if I am really
tight on money I without a shadow of a doubt would go for Kia Picanto. I would go for Kia Picanto
simply because I actually like what it looks like. Believe it or not bear with me I know it's
different but it reminds me a little bit even of Abarth. Like Abarth yes like that that car. It
reminds me a little bit of it. It's a lot more cute a lot more sporty a lot more modern looking
than say Chery Tiggo 4 Pro. And certainly better than Venue. Certainly better than ASX. Mind you
it's smaller. It does look smaller. We're not going scientific here. I'm not going here with a ruler
measuring or giving you any of that. It's a casual impressions video and inspiration video. But I'd
say if you haven't considered either of these six you probably should think about it. But getting a
car from a respectable manufacturer Kia with great aftermarket after sales support from what I'm
hearing and very competitively priced. Oh my god 21 000 that's cheap for a brand new car with
warranty with everything. I think that is where I would probably go. And then it's subject to you
taking any of these cars for a test drive and seeing most importantly here at this price range
of 21 and a little bit I would say my main concern and main thing I'd be paying attention to is
acceleration, is power, is mobility in traffic. Because with that tiny engine at that price
price point it may be underpowered. But that's purely speculative. Completely purely speculative.
But these are the cars that I would consider buying and consider them value for money in Australia
in April 2025 for about $25 000. Before you ask of course these are mini series that I'm planning
for you. I'm going to release in a week or two depending especially on your interest if you talk
to me in the comments down below of what I would buy for about $30 000 and for about $40 000
and for about $50 000 if you want. And yes competition is going to increase. Conversation is
going to be similar to this especially if you want it. Now is the chance to give me a like. That's
the main way for you to connect with me. And obviously talk to me in the comments down below.
I respond to everyone who is not a troll even though initially all comments are moderated for
blatant trolling and abusive stuff. Hope you've enjoyed this. I certainly did enjoy putting up
this list. There is a lot more to share with you because obviously I looked at the other price
brackets and there are some very interesting very tight contenders there. So stay tuned.
