Exploring a Vacant Toronto Luxury Home with RiddimRyder | Abandoned Mansions

Vacant homes in Toronto like this one have recently been the discussion of a controversial suggestion to add a new Vacant Home Tax to homes like this one that are purchased for future investment value.
Last week, the City of Toronto proposed a Vacant Home Tax, the program's aim is to influence a homeowner to either occupy or rent out their dwelling for at least six months of the year, or pay up.
Toronto Mayor John Tory said the move would encourage people not to leave homes vacant in Toronto and help to make more housing available.
This is a controversial move as many people have come forward stating that they have purchased a home in the city as a future retirement nest egg to sell off and live off of the earnings.
Those types of vacant home owners however aren't the majority. Many people..investors from other countries will buy up valuable land and sit on it for, perhaps an eventual development or as the people mentioned above - as an investment property.
Several of the homes you have seen posted here are those very locations, large homes and mansions, owned by a numbered company or over seas investor.
This home could also be one of those properties, or it may simply be sitting waiting on permits to be demolished, either way this is just another of many many vacant homes in the GTA that sit empty and unused.
