The mechanism of the subject-object relationship is the only way the infinite can experience the finite. But if the infinite is truly infinite, doesn’t that imply that it could experience manifestation directly, perhaps through some other means of knowing we cannot conceive of?

Rupert says: ‘There could be many other ways of knowing, but there still has to be a mechanism whereby the infinite experiences manifestation. Whatever the perceiving faculties of the infinite might be, if it were to adopt any one of those infinite number of ways of knowing, it would, at that moment, localise the knower as a subject.

‘If you were to have an experience of an object that did not take place in subject-object experience, then the subject would have to be the same as the object. And when the subject is the same as the object, what would that experience be? You simply can’t have an experience of an object that does not take place in subject-object relationship?’
