Exploring an Abandoned Long Term Care Home Waiting for Demolition
In 2016 it was announced that this long term care home would be a part of a 160 Million dollar provincial redevelopment plan to improve the living conditions of this and over 300 other care facilities.
The renovations would include more space for specialized programs, new interior design to improve the home like environment ,larger rooms, more areas with air conditioning and better wheelchair access.
It was then later announced that instead of renovating this older existing facility that they would instead be building a brand new state of the art facility across the street. It was determined that the existing building was far too old, as it had previously been used as a community hospital.
I have been told that there are plans to demolish this aging building in the very near future
