Hello, it's Missy! Thank you so much for watching. Today's video is this half-up style with
fishtail braids. To begin, part the hair where you normally prefer. Mine is parted on the right side.
Next, pull out some pieces around the base that you'd like to leave out. Divide off a section
of hair on the left side of the part for the first braid. Split this section into three equal pieces.
Begin by crossing each side strand once under the middle strand. Now combine the middle and
back strands together so you only have two pieces. Now divide off a small piece from the back strand.
Pick up a new section of hair from behind the braid and cross it under, adding it into the
front strand. Divide off a small piece from the front strand and cross it under to the back.

steps, continuing to cross small sections of hair from these two sections that we're working with
under to the opposite side, while also adding in new sections of hair from along the braid.
I brought in about four pieces total to each side, then I continued braiding the section
in a fishtail braid without incorporating new sections of hair into the braid. This will change
the way the braid lays against the head. You can experiment with adding more or less pieces
just to see what you like best. So braid the rest of the section in a regular fishtail braid,
working down towards the end of the hair. Cross one small section under to the opposite side,
then cross a piece from the other side under to the opposite side, working down towards the ends.
As I braid, I like to randomly spray the hair with hairspray to smooth down flyaway pieces
that might pop out the sides of the braid. I'm using the Kerastase Black Noir Extra Strong
Hold Hairspray for this particular style. Once the braid reaches far enough down to be tied at
the back of the head, go back over the braid and gently pull on the edges to widen it. This will
make it look bigger and more full. You can leave it small and tighter though if you prefer. Pull
the edges out as much or as little as you'd like to make the braid wider, being careful not to pull
it too loose. Once that braid is done, slide a bobby pin over the bottom to use later on. Now
move on to the other side of the head and create a similar braid on the right side. Divide off a
section of hair and split it into three smaller pieces for the braid. Begin by crossing each side
strand once under the middle strand. Now combine the middle and back strands together so you only

Once that braid is done, slide a bobby pin over the bottom to use later on. Now that both braids
are done, bring them around the back of the head and tie them together using a clear elastic band.
Next, divide off a section of hair from the right side of the nape of the neck, as well as a similar
sized section on the left side. Bring these two sections together over the rest of the hair and
tie them off using another clear elastic band. Now flip this ponytail up and around the elastic that
is holding the two braids together, so it wraps over the top and then tucks down underneath. Then
set the style with a stronghold hairspray and fix any small details. If you enjoyed this video,
please give it a like, subscribe for an upcoming tutorial where I actually turn
this style into an updo. Stay tuned for that and thank you so much for watching!
